your project was scary to me. I give you props for even taking it on.
Thanks bro! It was a huge learning experience but I now have an appreciation for engine bays haha
I just bought my prelude 4 months ago, definitely saving this for the future when my motor goes out
Next thing you’ll wanna do is secure a motor and then you’ll HAVE to make it happen 😆
@@Rawrkee time will be the only thing 😭, in college and working
probably the best breakdown video i have seen, and I have watched more video's on the k24 swap in the last month than i will ever disclose to anyone.
I'll probably never swap to a K. But the community appreciates the knowledge and information.👍
Be sure to come to this video if you ever decide to 😆
Appreciate your contributions king 🙏
very impressive and comprehensive information man. Appreciate you taking the time to make this video
I needed this because hasport came out with a kit for the 5th gen so that helped decide in going that route so this video is super helpful
Thank you bro for this video 🙌🏾 I’ve always wanted a break down on what I need for a k swap for my Honda civic eg
I’m super happy your back in NC fam and can’t wait to link again
lets do it!! 🔥🔥🔥
Hello Rawrkee - great video. You have been very helpful going over parts, suppliers, successes and things you would change. It's been a great help. Thanks so much.
Yeah man, its not so intimidating once you're aware of everything you'll need :D
thanks for all the information. can’t wait to attempt the swap myself. would love to see some videos of your lude driving with the new swap!
You're welcome! My only recommendation is to not rush the project haha
love your laugh dude, great info !
Glad you enjoyed!
I’m about to k swap a 1st gen honda insight. Thank you for this, it cleared up a lot of questions.
Good luck with the swap bro!
why swap an insight? 😩 the insight motor has lean burn and can get like 80mpg. im all for k swaps but not a 1st gen insight, thats a hypermile car
@@user-ts1ke5ps7f k swapped insight is in my top 3 dream cars. I already have my 1st dream car, a second gen Camaro. My second one, a third gen lotus exige can’t be imported into the US for many years due to the 25 year import laws. I think they look so stupid that it’s hilarious when they are made to be fast. It has 225k miles. Synchros in first and second are toast. Also the electric battery is no longer charging. Idk if the battery is bad or the electric motor, because the electric motor acts like the alternator in that car. I wanted a reliable quick sleeper as a daily/autocross car. An insight with a stock k24a2 will run high 12 1/4 mile times and still get 50+mpg highway while being reliable. Also it’s not a pretty example, I got it for 1200 running and driving with the stated issues. But it’s cosmetically rough too just like I wanted to add to the sleeper status. Over 225k miles mine stays it has averaged 50mpg.
I like the tech in the insight but it’s painfully slow stock. If I could get a nice stock one, I would keep it stock, however they sell for what I can k swap it for. Why not have a shitty looking fast one instead of a nicer slow one? There are plenty of stock ones out there. Matter of fact someone stopped by my house last week and offered 3k for it. I declined told him my plan and he was stunned. He said he had 2 stock ones already. There is a group of people that will preserve them as almost everyone I know that has owned one has had multiple. The owners of these generally care really well for them. I will too but I need to swap it first lol.
BA/BB ALLIANCE. NOT A BAD WAY TO SPEND 10K! almost (DOMS VOICE)
Proud 3rd gem 💎 &4th gen Preludes owner..
💀💀💀I'm glad you approve 🍻
So iffy about jackspania parts bc everyone craps on them but seeing you use them is definitely a confidence booster lmao. Great video!
Same here! All I hear is bad things about them, but hearing a good review makes me feel better since I bought one 😂
You just gotta be mindful on what parts you're using. For example, the Throttle Body is just component that opens and closes a door. Out the box, I had to do many adjustments to get the spring just right so that the door would close completely without sticking. The only part I eventually swapped out from the Jackspania parts I used was the Fuel Pressure Regulator and Fuel Filter. I figured I should spend a little more money on those parts for peace of mind. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with the Engine Harness tho, sure beats paying almost 4x the price haha
Nice video! I want to make a video on trany swapping from auto to manual.thanks for the inspiration
That engine bay is CLEAAAN! 👌👌
Thank you bro! I got carried away with trying to make the bay look clean but I also feel like I didn’t get carried away enough 😂
@@RawrkeeNaw that bay looks sick! Did you do the shave part after the engine was in?
@Rawrkee the type s [pump is a must it frees up hp where the k24/z3 oil pumps holds up a few hp and not to mention if going to be ripping and running your car oil starvation.
yeah, I guess I can get used to the vibrations if I wanna go vroom vroom 🤣
that's probably your motor mounts your feeling vibrations from...especially at idle. Mostly any aftermarket "solid" mounts are more stiffer than OEM. type-s oil pumps have little to no vibrations really.@@Rawrkee
Dude this is wild what a coincidence..
I’m going to make a plans video with my lude today hopefully .. mild mods but h22a4 a1 a etc it self are so hard to find on the east coast (Pa) .. last couple months I’ve been wondering ,
pull my h rebuild it or k swap 🤓
Nice info bro
Great info. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed!
You can resell some of the things removed from before the k swap. I might be interested, lmk. I use your prior H22 videos for guidance. Great video btw! I'm thinking about K swapping my civic, but I always hear its $10k+ to do it...
Thank you bro !
Saving this for when my h22 goes. Funny because I was just looking at kswapped ludes and this came up posted 2 hrs ago haha
Also there is currently BB6K2/BB6K4/BB6K5 hasport mounts
hell yeah bro, I tried sharing all the information I wish I knew back when I was doing research. Good luck on the swap!
@@Rawrkee gotta uncrash my car first 😂 Rad support needs to be swapped
Eyy, my comment was in the video😮💨
😄🍻🍻🍻
how come you switched to k bro? i love the h22 it sounds the best and vtec kicks harder in the h
Need an update how the prelude is running since the swap.
To balance that vibrations from the type S pump you need an ATI crank pulley (Street) this will be insurance for your engine
Honda K-Series Super Dampers - part number 918477
why dont you want the 05-06 rsx ecu and harness? You mentioned this a couple times in the video but I dont think you specified why
The 05-06 ecu has a different pinout and so the harness and ecu are specific to each other. Since kswaps are based on the 02-04 RSX, most writeups will not apply to the 05-06. It’ll still work but it’s just extra steps
Excellent work my dude. Your prelude is a type sh, or was at least right?
Thanks bro, I appreciate it! Yeah, it’s a SH. I’m considering converting the suspension to a base model so I can run AC 😆
@@Rawrkee yea you got some high temp summers to deal with lmao.
That’s funny, I got my hasport mounts like a month ago and NOW THEY GOT 5TH GEN MOUNTS? I wish I waited
🤣🤣🤣 If you haven't installed them yet, I don't see why they wouldn't let you exchange them for the 5th gen kit
I’ve seen a few k swapped hatch running flash pro? How is that possible?
They’re probably using a newer ecu, the only car I’m familiar with that uses flashpro is the 8th Gen civic 06-11. Seems like it’s possible to use that ecu as long as you can bypass the immobilizer
Hey you are in Austin broo
Hey man we need more drive/run time video….. how’s it doing?
Sadly, I haven’t had time to enjoy it but she’s running strong! Just need ac 🤣
Outside of the mounts, what do you think was the hardest thing about doing this swap? Also, would you consider supercharging this engine?
The most intimidating steps about the swap were fabbing up the motor mount and the header. Once I got passed that, everything else is pretty simple besides figuring out the wiring. Luckily, I had the helms manual on hand and it was easy for me to find the correct wires to splice into.
Supercharging would be nice but it is far more expensive than turbo. The k series can push 500+ with a turbo kit
@@Rawrkeewhat turbo kit you going with if you go that route ? Probably should of rebuilt the engine while it was out lol
@@2guysnatty21 I’m not knowledgeable about turbo setups but I’m looking forward to learning :D
The upside to k swapping is that an unopened k24 can handle over 500hp if done properly. The weak point would be transmission
he lives in my commutiy
What I tell people is just buy ep3 or rsx get what you need and part out the rest
that's one clean engine bay isn't cheaper to just buy an 8gen civic si an just swap it to a k24
s2000 cluster bro , i seen it on prerludes
Did you take it to the dyno yet?
No not yet 😩😩😩 maybe that can be the update video
@@Rawrkee can't wait to see it!
$Damn near $11,000? (THATS NOT INCLUDING WHEELS, PAINT, BRAKES, SUSPENSION UPGRADES LIKE STRUTS, SHOCKS, TIE RODS, ALLAIGNMENT etc etc)
*A 2002-2003 ACURA RSX TYPE S = $6500 to $11500.
* Acura RSX NON-TYPE S = $3000-$6000.
Alternatively the HONDA S2000 RWD = $11,000 - $18,000.
Makes you wonder is K SWAP WORTH IT?
K SWAP is only ideal if you enjoy working on cars or you have a sentimental car that's worth saving and restoring and you are young.
Rather buy a k swapped car now than to do my own
Might save you a lot of money and headaches haha
Not for nothing but your explanation in the wiring was horrible and inaccurrate . But I love the fact that you broke down the video with the prices and parts.
First like first comment 🥹🫶🏿
Thanks for the love bro!
