Find the best scouts in europe, grab a bunch of consistent mid tier players who play for passion not money and bring them in wont cost you even 120 mil. Then after that grab some more in the january window to shore up and cement the culture. After that you can spend the following summer filling in gaps with superior players but keeping the first group for their loyalty and passion so they can be played when your better players need rest

Yes Levy spent and bought in players. However, the players he bought were not first choice players and probably not second choice players. Conte voicing what Spurs fans have been saying for years. Likely its a combination of players not being quite good or motivated enough - a lot of the shortcomings (not all, but a lot), fall at the feet of the players. So far - they've largely shouldered little or no blame, Conte was right to call them out, if behind the scenes he's tried to change the mindset, but met with no response. It's not like he's the only manager we've had who's struggled to get this bunch to show any consistency!

Irony aside, the main of his point was correct- as is his praise of Arteta as a man manager. Spurs finished above them and are now miles behind; less than a year has passed. Thatâs not simply due to a gap in spending; itâs systemic failure on all levels, and there is an onus on the manager to improve what he has, not simply frame himself as a matyr.
Trouble is Levy hired Conte and he needs to a manage a certain type of player, same as Simeone. The weak bunch of prats at Spurs arenât going to handle his style and step up. Dear Tottenham, I was born in 1983 and have been a life long Spurs fan. In many ways my life has mirrored the clubs, always been up there but never really winning anything when it truly mattered. My first son was born last year and I donât want his life characterised the same way. So this is my breakup letter. I donât want to be associated with the âSpursyâ mentality we all know exists. He will not be a Tottenham fan. I will not follow any other EPL club because I wonât switch sides, but I will enjoy the league as a neutral from now on. Thank you and all the best.

Totally agree - LFC fan - and it's not exclusive to Spurs. They had the same problem for years at Utd, until the board actually listened to Ragnick and Ten Hag. They got rid of their biggest problems -Pogba and Ronaldo - and they've improved. Tell me Pogba and Ronaldo have gone on to better things!

The issue has been for the last 20 years the chairman Daniel Levy. This club wonât win anything with a mixture of World Class players like Son and Kane, Eriksen, Kulusevski, and mix it with B rate players who are crap. Iâm talking about Lamella, NâDombelle, Aurier, Sissoko, Emerson Royal. The list goes on. The manager lists the number 1 targets he wants, and Levy trashes it every single time. I think we could have had a really good team around Jenas, Keane and Berbatov, but Levy again was tight. He has the same vision as Sugar had by selling the club short.
