You can bet that there will always be a CC on the end to go after the suckers. 100% put together with plenty of fillers in the middle. Coins from the mint ALWAYS came in $1000 bags. Anything in a roll was picked thru and put together later.
Rolled Dollars were available from banks until about 1963. These were not rolled by the Mint. I looked through many of these rolls back then. Never found a CC or a trade dollar or a seated dollar. Most of the key and semi-key dates were long gone way before I started to collect coins in 1958. This is also true for all other denominations. Many coin and sportcard collectors still believe in Santa Claus.
@ginaparker-langleySeeing that Jesus is a historical figure that would make sense. Critical thinking is hard.
@ginaparker-langley Just stop there. It must be hard not knowing the difference between mythical and historical. Now run along before even your parents are embarrassed.
@ginaparker-langleyyou are so lost, and in for the worst rude awakening you will ever receive. Mercy is a gift.
Hey pops! Nice to see an old timer here. 🗽🇺🇲
@@ernesto3580 grace is a gift. It’s unmerited favor not mercy. You know nothing and not qualified to preach.
Honestly anytime I see these types of rolls I can say this, everyone always has inserted good enders and just fills up with common unc morgans in middle. Oh and the ender CC is ALWAYS a common date Morgan. They're all legit scams, I've yet to see one that isnt.
Mans got a point☝
That is the truth and the truth always sets you free!😇 Honesty is the best policy!!!
@Brodie Augustus that was a scam lmao
@@Readyman56 you got it...in my house growing up my wonderful mom said honesty is the ONLY policy! I hope you have a great great day!
Can't believe he is handling them without gloves.
"This has a CC on the backside" .... of course it does 🤣
Cc one side trade dollar the other cmon man
@@warrenmullett Selectively placed on the ends
Cc one side, trade $ other side, culls in the middle baby! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 typical! No for an ebay roll those look great. I just never trust a morgan roll... ya no... they came in bags originally... but yall know that
K@@jamessampson5992
I can remember as a young kid going to the bank with my dad and him getting a canvas bag of silver dollars. He would take them home and go through them and pick out a few of the best and then bring the rest back to the bank. Ah the good old days.
Atleast you tore the roll open so it can't be used to scam anyone else
Those reeded edges on the coins would have darkened up with toning if those were actually anywhere close to be original rolls. They’re freshly assembled but very nice selection. I would buy that roll all day
Man you sure know how to get a Morgan nerd excited. I would personally never buy something like that from eBay but that was fun to watch. Thanks. 👍🏻
I'm in a couple coin clubs and have never seen these wrapped like this. Just wow.
Wow! I had heard that all Morgan rolls are bogus because Morgans were bagged and not rolled back in the day.
Don't buy ebay..counterfeit coins
I thought so too
They were after they came back to the bank.
@@geraldamos292 I buy eBay Morgan's but graded with verification #s I always go to site's and verify before hand...
It was so satisfying to watch you open this! Thanks!!
Best video I’ve watched in a long while. Please do more of these. Thanks so much.
I loved this video, combining my love of coin collecting and coin roll hunting into one!
wow, always wondered what was inside one of these Morgan rolls from eBay, thank you for sharing!
2:10 You see that the paper is not aged 😅It's firm, crisp and not even stained by silver as it should be
Back around 1960, my paternal grandmother pulled out a hand full of silver dollars and said I could have one. Being a smart little kid (though I knew only they were "silver dollars"), I chose the oldest one: 1881. Later I discovered the S, and much later still, the name "Morgan". I still have it, some 60 years later (i.e., provenance, and not China, either) . It's easy to imagine it rode around in a lot of people's pockets between 1881 and 1960. It is dark (toned or just dirty or both...) but it might clean up nicely. I have other Morgans I've bought within the last 5 years or so, but the one I got from my grandmother I'll likely always have unless I pass it along to my grand-nieces. Thank you for this good video!
don't clean it
Never clean coins it lowers the value.
Another ebay "made to look old" bait roll. TO EVERYONE OUT THERE - DON'T BUY THESE! But thank you for the video, Ben
I know, the Trade Dollar was another give away that the roll was bait. It is sad that people are taken in by these rolls.
i mean sure they are super common dates but the rolls aren't that bad if you are just starting a collection or something
@@dguy0386 to expensive for what they are and who in the world would START a collection with a expensive roll like that usually beginners dont start paying alot of money for coins much less rolls
@@josefigueroa3930 true, didn't think of that
HI MNGA. IF THE PRICE WAS RIGHT FOR THE AVERAGE COIN VALUE, IT WOULD BE OK. I AM NOT A BUYER FOR ROLLS OR MUCH OF ANYTHING ELSE ON EBAY. I AM A BUYER THAT ACTUALLY DOES BEWARE. *TYU*
stunning coins what luck to come across those rolls and even luckier to have the pockets to buy them. wow congrats to your customer :) GL & HH
Hi Ben the anticipation of the whole time is crazy thanks for sharing.
There was a huge die crack around the entire circumference of the reverse on the first 1899-O. I'll bet that die failed not long after that coin was struck.
yeah I was thinking the same thing
All those rolls are scams...no toning...they get old wrappers and fill them! Just my 2 cents. A roll of 61s & 62s.. Ben you were being nice with the 63s and 64s, no 64s in there from what I saw...save your money!
Cheers
Agree that it most likely is a scam but i saw solid 63s
@@josefigueroa3930 yes there were some 63s, but common data 63s aren't worth getting graded...yet! I'd rather but 10 to 12 nice coins for my grand!
Cheers
Scam coins
Not worth the money IMO. Better off buying a couple of nice Morgan dollars than going thru a SEEDED Roll IMO of course. Scammers love taking our money. My old Boss told me this, Every Deal Isn't a Good Deal. How true those words are today.
Loved this video! Thanks for sharing!
Great Coins. Thanks for sharing.
I've bought enough "unsearched" rolls on ebay to know that this is a scam roll. The ends happen to be a CC common and a trade dollar. The sellers do that to make people think that the whole roll, especially the trade $ could be CC. At least the middle coins were all UNC.
Real nice coins. That’s a lot of history in your hands.
Really cool! Thanks for sharing!
Trade Dollars are pretty scarce in problem-free condition but this one looks like it was scrubbed with a Brillo pad.
I thought so too. Lol
Thank You for Showing that Clip , Good Memories !!
Wow! That is too cool. Trade dollar never seen one before. Very interesting! 1881 that is a nice looking coin. 1878 now I am on the look out for one. 1876 wow that is a nice looking coin.
Them some nice coins ya got there. Thanks for sharing
Gloves! Great video.
I love how these shady eBay crooks have an endless amount of CC and key date ender rolls. Original 100year old rolls with no end toning should be the first sign something shady is going on. These guys make a killing sticking one $200 CC on each end between eighteen $30 common date Bu/Sliders. Wish people would educate themselves and stop giving money to these con artist.
Watch out for the Chopper.
Yup, made that mistake a few years ago.
Are you saying the coins are fake?
@@kareyrose Coins are real but the scam is praying on uneducated coin collectors thinking they are buying an old original vintage roll of Morgan's that came from a bank in the early 1900s and will hit the jackpot.
Only valuable coins are the two end coins you can see.
They are recently put together with modern banks wraps made to look old.
@@kareyrosethey sell real coins but have been gone through and all the good dates picked with a decent coin on the end of the roll so the buyer is more enticed to buy the roll.
Nicest silver roll I have seen. You were hypnotizing me with the proof like luster cart wheels.
Fun video Ben, thanks
I mean this when I say it Ben, you really do produce quality content on the daily😎. You are a cool dude🤘
Looks very put together to me.
Wow this made my worm wiggle...I would love a fresh roll of these babies, especially at a year ago prices...
HI BEN.VERY INTERESTING. IT DOES LOOK LIKE IT WAS NOT RANDOMLY ROLLED. NEAT COINS. THANKS. *TYU*
Nice purchase some gradeable the cc and the 1881s nice
Nice roll. To find something like that on ebay is astonishing. Many years ago you could find original rolls of many coins not put together rolls of freshly wrapped junk. Like OBW rolls of Indian cents, circ, different dates both ends, wrapped in 1980's paper. In 97 or 98 bought a sealed bag of 1958 Lincolns, and a roll, hand wrap of 1929 Lincoln cents. The 1929 were original and most graded 65 Rd or higher of the 25 coins we sent in.
Beautiful coins Mr Geek
Those are in beautiful condition!!!
You are a special person with silver coins.
Just Beautiful! EIEI OH MY! 👌👍🏴☠️🇺🇸
Listening to him talk about these Morgan’s makes me realize how little I know . He pulls one out and says you can tell right away this is the 78 from San Francisco and I’m like you can lol
When Morgan's where first issued, they were all bagged not rolled.
It’s amazing. I love the Morgan
That's why they're so widely counterfeited, including by Biden's Chinese friends.
Hi Ben, ahhhh yes the old salt, pump and dump. When you go to pan for gemstones in Hiddenite NC, and you buy one of the big bags to pan through, you really don't think that the precious and semiprecious stuff got there by chance did you?
Always only one cc on the end and that’s all just enough to set the hook nice coins thoufg
Do more of these that was a good video my friend
Beautiful coins
Omg this is amazing
Nice coins. He did good.
Those are PRETTYYY!!
I’ve seen a ton of these rolls on eBay and can’t help but wonder if a lot of them have been cleaned?
Interesting to see this. Some very nice pieces. The date distribution and mints would lead me to conclude this roll was put together during or after the great Treasury releases of the 1960s which could include right up to fairly recently. Coins when randomly assembled always reflect the surviving populations at the time, whether in a roll like this or even as archaeological finds. There's a lack of any great rarity - and the CC coins are drawn from the 1882-84 sequence of which so many survived in the vaults. But if I had to pick one out of these 20 I'd have a tough job since most of them are very pleasing.
cool opening
"Original Bank Wrapped Roll" ...Banks didn't start rolling coins until the 1930s I believe, so there is no such thing as an original bank wrapped roll of Morgan dollars. Peace dollars were almost finished by the time banks started rolling coins...Original Scammer Wrapped Roll would be a better title for these
Truth
Great video!!
NICE ROLL !!!!
I have found the same thing. Teasers on the ends, commons on the inside. The last roll of 10 were all 1921 coins. Coincidence? the roll was folded just like these, paper really lose, and i could put all the coins back in without issue.
if they were rolled a long time ago would there be more tarnish/toning? all of these looked pretty bright.
When buying something like these you want to be really careful because a lot of the time you could end up overpaying normally if you see a CC ender the rest will be common dates so that's something people should take in consideration when buying or bidding on these
Buying coins on Ebay is one of the biggest gambles one can make.
Looks like you did well
it is if you buy this stuff. I stick to NGC and PCGS coins and never had a problem.
Doing well depends on what he paid...I never did catch an amount while I watched ( but I may have missed it ).
Every single coin was either dipped or cleaned. ALL commons except for the enders. 🙄
What a relaxing video. I know that sounds a little odd but the beauty was just so soothing
very nice
Amazing how you know the dates and mint marks before seeing them through experience
Ya, you seen that as well.
You can tell by the ends they haven't been in the rolls long the older paper had sulphur they would be toned
How long would it take for the end coins to get some bullseye toning from the atmosphere and the old paper wrapper? What about the outer coin rims? Are these just cobbled together in the last few years with old paper? White coins with a large date and mintmark range seems too scamtastic to be believed.
Oh boy those where tasty 😊👍
Thanks for the way you handle your coins. I see other people just throwing them around. Keep up the good work. Also where if you have is a place wqhere you sell coins if you sell them. Thanks.
fun to watch
That’s an amazing roll of Silver Dollars. Hopefully those other rolls yield something really nice for him.
@@ammocan2796 i agree im a Morgan dollar guy but i dont see myself risking money a roll
They won’t .. it’s that exact mentality that keeps the crooks in business.. these people are the same people who like to buy scratch tickets thinking one day they’ll hit the million
Cmon .... Wake up folks
They’re praying on your emotions
The amount of responses - how it was
- so much fun
- the anticipation
- I was on the edge of my seat
- satisfying
....... and on and on ... these crooks make out like bandits because they’re capitalizing on human deeply ingrained tendencies and naïveté
I have opened 5 of your described $10 rolls and have found bu Carson City common dates in 4 out of 5 between the ends.
WOW, nice coins
You can purchase the old coin wrappers online and then fill them with whatever you want to pretend that they are unsearched
Wouldnt the coins be toned from years of aging in the paper?
Great set of coins. Im aware of these ebay rolls
Hi there love the fact you can find silver in your change sill I’m a coin hunter in the uk and have a CZcams channel looking for special coins
Even though this was a scam roll it was still interesting.
Nice. Coin
Sorry but I have a question about the small Rolls may I ask how much was it for the small Rolls of Morgan's if I can ask please cuz those are 1 of my favorite coins to collect
Morgan's make cool rings
A fantastic roll, everyone of those coins is worth grading.
except for most of them that are cleaned and not worth the time, and how Morgan $’s were NEVER in $10 denominations.
No they are not!
Wow, I was rooting for a super coin. Still very nice coins. Thanks for sharing the reveil!
I think the customer was scammed on eBay. I hope he didn’t pay too much. Rarer coins on the ends with common coins in between, and a mix of years and mints, makes me suspicious
It should, a majority of the coins never even went in rolls rather bags. These ebay scumbags ruin coin collecting and hunting
Where can one buy silver dollar bank rolls, I'm wondering if I can get some from a bank or if it will be impossible to do so. I am looking for bank rolls that have anything from 1800 to 1940 where would be a good place to look as well.
It looked like a scar face, very expensive possibly!
Beautiful
Learning how the correctly handle Collectors Coins is a plus ?
Looks like the roll was "put together". CC on one end, Trade on the other, with nothing but common in the middle.
Unfortunately they are re crimped and odd enders. Super common thing for ebayers to do to not be honest and make extra money.
He probably payed somewhere between 2,000-3k on that 20$ roll.
Its unfortunate.
Great video I love Morgans
WOW♥️AMAZING LIKE YOU THIS MORGANS THANK YOU😃👍❤
Almost a twin cept the trade dollar to a roll I tried. My wrapping indicated maybe rolled in the 70s?
Still look great common or not. And I'd love to have a trade dollar in my collection one day.... One day.
I been collecting for 8 years and I still dont have any i will look for one soon as well
I wish my first purchase of Morgans were as nice looking as some of those in the video.
I bet somebody watching that roll of Morgans wishes they had a poke full of ‘em.
These sellers do this to get rid of problem and low grade coins. I believe I remember hearing that the wrappers are treated with tea bags to look old.
People buying these are infinitely more hopeful than I will ever be~!
real old news papers are made of cotton, it looks as if this roll has cotton in it. the fibers in the tear is the give away to its age. looks like fun
