  • I won an auction on Ebay from the seller Auctionkings 7/19/22 and received my coin today 7/23/22. This is my honest review of my experience. The coin is an 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar that was described as "1881 S Morgan Dollar! SEMI Proof Like! Absolute Stunner! Amazing Piece" on the title.
    Sorry about my cracking mic

    They sent me a Mercury that was not a GEM and Full Bands advertised. I gave them Neutral feedback and they immediately responded to offer me refund or compensate me. Tried to bully me to change my feedback. I told them I don’t want anything from them just want to provide other buyers of my experience. Then they went silent

    Last comment - if you’ve ever tried to take pictures of coins you would know it’s very easy to make a coin look a bunch of different ways depending on the angle and lighting. A very subtle adjustment tilting the coin 5° can make the coin look amazing and perfect
    The difference between me and a majority of these new sellers is I look for what’s bad and I highlight what is bad I try to tell people right up front these are the problems I do not accentuate the positives as much as what’s bad (haze, spotting, rim hits, etc.).
    I almost never sell a raw coin as “Gem BU”, only if I’m super confident the coin will grade better than 65 at PCGS and I send them hundreds of coins a year so if I think it will grade better than 65 chances are I’ll submit it anyway unless it’s too common like a 1940s or 1950s common date Washington quarter etc .
    I saw a guy selling a coin as Gem AU last night. It’s gotten ridiculous
    Does it hurt the amount of money my coins ultimately sell for? Yes - sometimes. But in other ways it gains customers
    Plus savvy and more experienced coin buyers know what they’re looking for anyways

      That’s my rule on presenting any items I sell, not just coins; under-promise and over-deliver. Better to leave a little profit on the table but end up with a customer that is thrilled they got more than they expected.

    The coin is a common date. Reverse always looks better than the obverse. The coin has been dipped and whizzed. So you get what you pay for. The coin is worth 30 bucks since it has been cleaned so it's no bargin. They mosly likely have a bunch laying around that they paid 20 bucks for years ago. They have me blocked and I have them blocked on ebay. I think they suck and are not honest.

I go in knowing that the quality is never the same as the picture, but I'd be hard pressed to do better for same price at a LCS. Definitely would never pay over $45 for there stuff, but I've managed to pick up some nice washington quarters, and couple Morgan's. Also I did return a coin with no Hassel and I'm not blocked. I didn't leave negative feedback, but they paid return shipping. They are definitely sketchy with photos, but so far everything was real.

  • @TheTradingChief
    @TheTradingChief Před 2 lety +3

    I have bought probably 100+ coins from them what I've learned is that you have to buy the coins that have actual #10652 if it's a #k52 or whatever then it's being pulled from a sorted drawer. I went to there store front they wouldn't let me in saying it was a shipping address only in a very nice part of Scottsdale,AZ. Only way to get the actual coin photo is if it's slabbed or has a # and no letters. I also think the MS+++++ Is one sometimes two grades higher then actual coin. Just my opinions.

    • @TheTradingChief
      @TheTradingChief Před 2 lety

      Their Morgan's are the biggest hit and miss. I feel like the cheaper you get the coin the lower MS you get out of the drawer to mitigate loss, again my opinion but what I've noticed. Their other coins like quarters and half dollars are spot on.

    Friend, they likely didn't "lose" money. That Morgan I'm convinced will be "details", if graded by the reputable grading companies...bc it's heavily cleaned. If you go to sell that Morgan...a coin dealer will give you likely under $30, w/Ag currently under $25/oz. If you place it for auction...I blv it won't go for much more than $35...if you have good photos, bc ppl will see the terrible cleaning hairlines. HERE'S THE KEY THING: THE COIN YOU SHOWED, as the one advertised...WAS NOT THE COIN YOU RECEIVED. This is, in my opinion, terrible! I blv, in fine print, there are dealers that let you know that...but also, in my opinion, any coin seller that shows a picture of the coin...and then you receive a DIFFERENT coin, is not worth doing business with.

Unsure how a flawless coin could be dirty with environmental damage and hard to see some details. None of the seven coins purchased are what they were represented to be. Sad to say, but they are crooked and unethical. Buyer beware.

    I have found out the hard way with this company if picture is black and white stay awake run if picture of coin is in color you can trust the photo I got 3 buffalo nickels from there of course 2 were 38 D so common so no problem there the other was 37 D and it was cleaned unc details the photo on all 3 were in color but I later found out thru another person who bought a lot that is what he noticed if the coin is nice they take normal pictures if it’s not that’s when they doctor the pictures and they are bad about I will refund your purchase if you redo your feedback if not they just burn you and block you so just be aware ok

    Auction Kings are the worst sellers I’ve dealt with…
    We all should consider complaining to eBay about sellers manipulating coin photos.
    Hey coin people:
    If the coin photos are manipulated, or out of focus etc… DONT BUY IT…
    Help support the honest sellers…….

    Same thing happened to me with these jokers! I bought what was supposed to be a BLAZER 1888 o morgan the coin pictured WAS NOT the coin i received. The whole joke was that same coin was in MULTIPLE auctions with them and Nowhere do they say the coin is a stock photo. These guys are bait and switch artists

      @Chai Charin a lot, I'm sure. I've been collecting Morgan Dollars for 40 years and have seen everything. When I called him out on it, they said they would issue me a refund and claimed it was a mistake. I told him I'm not interested in a refund but getting the actual coin I payed for! It's an ongoing situation we'll see what happens

    Yeah this seller is garbage. I bought a coin from them and after I won the auction, I decided to see if he had any more of the same date. Low and behold, he had the exact same coin that I won in another auction. I sent them an email, but didn't get a response. When I received the coin, I immediately compared it with the listing and it was a different coin that what I received. Contacted them, sent it back, and got a refund.
    But I will not buy from them again. Total garbage!

    Just shut up. You did not pay for the flip. You paid for the coin and that looks exactly what you paid for. There are people who complain without any reason all the time. Invoice? Who cares about an invoice? Flip? Who cares about the flip? Packaging? Who gives a $#/T

    So today I decided I was going to see if I could find any worth getting. GPS said 3 shops but I got off the train and 😳🥲 I was on jewelers !! 4 blocks solid with every store having signs screaming gold silver jewelry etc!! Every side street was nothing but as well!! Including and 2nd floors!! I ended up trading a gold ring with a spot value of $96 and $15cash ... as many morgans Ben's etc as you want for 30x. I then found a better place and got him down to
    25x for any you wanted! I got a crazy toned out 1987morganfor 25 and it's in pretty freaking great condition!! 87... 100 years b4 I was born! It was nuts because every single place was trying to push the morgans on you!! Like they would constantly pick them out to give you instead of the Ben's, walkers AND EVEN THE KENNEDYS!! THE CRAZY PART WAS EVERY SINGLE PERSON THERE WAS HOLDING ONTO THEIR JUNK 10,25S LIKE THEY WERE MADE OF 999 GOLD OR FREAKING PALLADIUM LOL THEY ALL HAD BOXES AND BOXES OF MORGANS AND BENS BUT EACH WOULD ONLY HAVE LIKE 1 OR 2 DOLLARS IN QUARTER AND DIME!! THE 1 GUY HAD A SINGLE MAPLE LEAF THAT WAS INCREDIBLY TONED AND PRETTY GOOD CONDITION HE $45! SAID OH THATS A 60-70 COIN OR MORE! SAID THOSE RIGHT THERE THEY'RE REALLY HARD TO GET!! I SAID THATS CRAZY CUZ THOSE ARE LITERALLY THE CHEAPEST COIN YOU CAN BUY ON LINE MANY TIMES 5
