Transport secretary urges Tories to 'get behind' prime minister

- Transport Secretary Mark Harper has insisted the party will continue delivering on its pledges and is focused on winning the general election.
He told Trevor Phillips the working assumption is that an election will be in the second half of the year but he would not comment on suggestions the party should move even more to the right to salvage its election chances.

It’s heartwarming to think that they are continuing to deliver on priorities for the British people. Also very pleased that he felt the need to re- emphasise that once or twice to make sure we knew. The British people are happy to support that effort by allowing 50% of their councillors, Several Mayors and candidates for Westminster to devote their energies to making that happen without the encumbrance of being elected representatives of anyone. Fantastic work.
