One piece rainsuit is the way to go for rain and cold.

I have this outfit and I ride my CBR 1000RR year around in New England. The suit is great in cold weather in keeping wind out. I wear heated gear and have this one piece over it. I do notice when it's gets around 15 degrees or below I have to wear two of these at the same time.
As for rain... Here the kicker... They will keep you bone dry but after 4 or 5 months they will start to leak at the seams. Even wearing two of these my groin area will get wet. It seems the material loses it's rain protection the more you ride it in the rain. But as a wind breaker in the winter it's excellent keeping cold air out. As for wearing this in spring or summer? Forget it you will sweat and bake in it as it seems to hold warm body heat in. The pockets on the outside are useless and water will collect in the side pockets. I ruin a very good cell phone by getting water damage this way.

I just bought one im riding forza 300 im planning to ride it for the most part of the year except when roads are icy. I was concerned about it but cycle gear gave me one year warranty. If it leaks within one year they'll replace it for me. Wore it today only but i can tell this thing is good. Ill get one of those aprons and with this i think i can ride 9 month out of 12 i live in New York City.

Two-piece Tour Master suit for me, with no windshield at all. I rode home from the Kentucky Krawl in 40-45°F cold, wet, and dark conditions in "more or less" perfect comfort. I think it's the yellow color that makes it dark proof. I've said for years that rain and thermal liners that come in mesh gear are ineffective. Like, emergency-use-only ineffective. I wish I could find mesh without it. In hot weather, I usually use just the jacket unless I'll be in a downpour. It definitely has to come off soon after the rain stops. Come to think of it, in hot weather, getting wet for a while is often a good thing, so no rain suit is required.
Can you comment on fit with a couple pillows installed to simulate my body shape?

LOL @ the pillows bit. We found that they compensate for armored gear being worn underneath, so buy whatever size you normally would if it were a jack or pants. As for a decent mesh jacket (that's ONLY mesh + armor), check this out: redirect.viglink.com?key=94aaacd3c671ea88f2ed040402f80479&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.revzilla.com%2Fmotorcycle%2Frevit-tornado-2-jacket&opt=true
