Think I'd get the Sparrows one. $45 USD on their website.
Probably another $45 postage 🤷♂️
$5.95 shipping.

From USA to the UK ?
That’s a bargain, everything I want to order from the USA isn’t viable due to the cost of postage, last thing I wanted was a small felt washer for an Oreck vacuum cleaner, it only cost a few pence and would fit easily in a regular envelope, yet the postage was about £16 (from memory) that’s just one of many examples I could give.
@@ronpalmer1371customs charges can add another £30😢 I know from experience
@@ronpalmer1371being in Australia I often face the same problem with shipping driving reasonable prices way too high. I have found that a lot of businesses are flexible if you take the time to ask them. They might’ve set minimum postage to say £16 on their website, but if you ask whether they will use a standard envelope to send items that will fit in them, they are often willing to do so and pass on the savings.
Nice comparison. Thankfully I do all my own quality control so every pick is fully able to pick 90 % of dd locks 🔒 😀
Your picks are head and shoulders above anything you can buy on the regular market.
I will buy DD picks from you soon 😊
Thanks mate really appreciate your comments 👏 @JSTKSK
Very nicely done LN.
That's a great look at all these DD picks. I think you just about got everything spot on.
I thought I was your only friend.
I mean, I never said we were exclusive…
@@LockNoobHello I am willing to pay for a private guide on key copying (as information should be free)
The question would be around how to duplicate highly protected keys such as master skeleton keys from the lock with no key!
Willing to pay 100+ for insight👌
I love the anodized purple colors and the way these look a lot but I also love the Sparrows one too. They’re all about the same price. It looks like there some quality control regarding these though. I think I’ll go with the Sparrows one. I love that there’s more competition in the market because it’s better for innovation and the consumer and affordability.
Thank you for the amazing review and comparison as always Lock Noob. 🖤
I will just go with the Sparrows tool thanks.
Interesting to see the differences, we actually bought a load of stock and made new parts to add to it including the square tension rod. We may consider making a completely new tool if the interest is there? Thanks for taking the time to review 👍
I'm more interested to know if there's spare tips available with stronger weld joints. ....or better still, single piece forged tip & rod made out of harder material. It would be well worth the premium for the better quality and longevity. Hardened stainless steel perhaps, which would also aid in preventing friction problems. Oh, and have a slight flat on the rods so they can be gripped better with the grub screw.
we have 2 new tools which will be available soon, 1 front and 1 rear tension, they will be a great improvement on what's currently available @@penfold7800
Are you saying Bosnian Bill and the Lock Picking Lawyer didnt make that tool? 😂😂
I was also wondering, the design is an almost exact copy the the one BB and LPL designed in their video series and which they then allowed Sparrows to manufacture. My quess are that all of the features ones here are pirate copies with no approval.
Imagine LPL doing a video about the new covert instruments picks that are complete rip-offs of Abona or Monith. @locknoob doesn’t even acknowledge the facts.
@@sendtosurge Speaking of CI, I suspect they're coming out with their own DD pick this year; if you look at their "vault" page, there are all kinds of new tools they're releasing soon (like "Spin", mostly likely a plug spinner) but being very hush hush about, and I just wouldn't be surprised if LPL and McNally, et al revisited that tool and decided to make more improvements to it and brand it their own. I would be shocked if LPL, being a lawyer, gave up his co-IP rights to the design.
It's for that sole reason that I'm holding off the Sparrows DD pick for now.
OTOH, I could be wildly wrong.
Thanks for the reviews of the picks. Nice to know what to look for.
They all look like clear "knock offs " to me. I've much more respect for tallan pick, RWB and Daz evers and Huxley pig for at least coming up with their own designs
Nicely explained my friend..makes you wonder who has the patent...🌴😎
Id like to know where i can get spare tips from, even if theyre still in the round form. My worry is the strength of the weld on the end of the rod to attatch the tip. Ive got a Sparrows version and i bought spare tips from them at time of purchase, but im wondering if theres been any improvement yet.
I have a KSEC one and it came with a spare tip, though it was too big really.
Great vid Ash. Always love to hear your cool voice amd intonation 😊
A fair and honest review as always Ash. Thanks for sharing mate and have a fantastic weekend.
Luckily I have the Sparrows DD lock pick
I think the difference is not that it's different products, but different versions of the same product because they were created at a later stage and were upgraded. There is a situation that even if you buy from the Chinese company directly, you will get the improved version. The other changes are probably from lower packaging standards
This is not the case, ALS for example take the older pick and change out the parts for the newer ones by hand for each tool sold.
which is better topolino or locksmith? or topolino is simply faster?
I wonder if the LPL has tried any intellectual property cases..
This isn't the device that him and Bosnian Bill designed, is it?
I think, other than having one custom made by LPL, and BB, I would stick with the sparrows tool. Its not that much more expensive than those, and my experience with sparrows tools is very good.
Good information. I'd be a bit angry if I paid twice as much for a tool that I immediately have to do file work on before I can use it.
In another comment on tools not to even think about buying. What I am referring to are the southord 5 piece comb pick set for 43.95. I tried the correct tool on a 5 dollar walmart lock and the junk material they used for this set bent on the actual 1st try. Heh noob Yoda, who has the most versatile and best made comb pick set I can buy
I recognize those picks! They're knockoffs of the pick that that LPL and Bosnian Bill made.
Interesting. I like the colours 😊
🐈⬛🐾🐈🐾👍🍻
great video! good info!
Thanks
All three are blattant copies of the pick created by Lockpickinglawyer and Bosnian Bill.
You should really make an update about it !!!
Very similar, yes, but let’s not forget that tool itself was just an updated version of the Chinese DD picks that came before it
The heads are actually originally round and are ground down to the rectangular form and in the original it was thinner than any of them.
great video Ash mate 😎👊👍🇬🇧😊
The handles look different shapes as well.
Caveat emptor. Res ipsa loquitur.
thanks im looking at getting one now i have more options
Same item being made by the same asian company to different quality standards have been happening for a decade or 2 already.
Seller A wants ultra cheap so costs get cut in materials and finishing and seller B wants a higher quality and gets better materials and finishing.
from what i've heard it's not quite so much one factory as one town. the way communism dictates labour for improved efficiency. you will be typewriter town. you will make bicycle. then if something succeeds and brings in the money, other locals set up in the only permitted industry, producing their own take on the product via many of the same suppliers.
I guess it’s good information for those in the market to support Chinese design thieves, but it’s truly amazing that you can make this video without discussing the fact that this is a shameless knockoff of the BB/LPL tool produced by sparrows.
That design while good, isn’t in of itself fully unique or innovative, as it still follows the same functional principles as the cheaper Chinese DD picks that came before it
Hello fellow game player I am willing to pay for a private guide on key copying (as information should be free)
The question would be around how to duplicate as master skeleton keys from the lock! 🔒
Willing to pay 100+ for insight👌
Ultimately a pick is only as good as the...pick part? Business end? Might be a great project to make DD pick heads and Lishi replacement tips and sell small sets.
