BIG THANK YOU to Leon and Jason for these locks. If you pick one of these please take care, those short driver pins could lead to catastrophic spring damage.
I was watching Steve's Lockpicking disassembled one of these just two days ago and revealed the short pin stacks. I consider myself lucky not to have ruined the one I picked now 😊thanks for sharing and have a great weekend Ash 👍🤜🤛
It's amazing to think that Master once made locks.
They make excellent locks.... but those models are at City Lock, not at Home Depot
For tight warding like this, I like to use my hooks as flags, that is, to rotate rather than lever. With luck, after clearing enough pins, you can rest the shaft of the pick on the top ward.
Those are beasts! They'd make for great bench decor. Jason did awesome work on the cutaway.
beautiful cut-away - very nice!
you wouldnt expect this lock to be that good, thanks for the video!
that lock is not my friend it snapped my favourite pick and it's cursed 🤣🤣great video Ash mate awesome cutaway.i cart beleave I still giggle like a kid when I hear my name🤣👍😊🇬🇧😎👊
Yes! This video has indeed been a long time coming and been waiting to see how you're going on with your personal Master Lock 19 saga. I honestly believe that the " Serrated" feedback that's felt with these are from the spring ( maybe another reason for their being so beefy , to take the extra abuse if the lock ever has to be picked, along with theuse of strong core spring to save the spring from getting mangled ).
this confirms my suspicion that I have had with these and was totally convinced that they were some out there with serrated but to find out, that's the spring. I will share more information with you as I find out. 🦾👍🔥
What a beast and a monstrous shackle pop. nice picking Lock Noob. If it's the same Jason and I am pretty sure it is as he featured that lock on his channel after it was made into a cutaway. He sent me one of his master lock number 19's to have a pick at, now I see why it was a little frustrating to pick at first 😂. I could tell they were not all standard pins but couldn't work out what they were.
Thank you so much for sharing and the great reveal as to what's inside this beast.
Thank you for sharing your insights, j.gabriel and I have had the same conclusions when we were discussing these 19's, I have definitely enjoyed what I have learned by cutting of number of these open, by the eay if your interested i can send you a link of the video where that particular 19 was made into a cutaway, I would also love to see a closeup of the pins while you are picking it, thanks again for sharing
Nice, Lovely cut-away 😍
Now that provided a lot of insight, I've seen then picked before but never knew about the springs protruding down into the chamber, that would be a big problem. Thanks, that is one beefy lock, and that cutaway is gorgeous!
Cool padlock from a cool guy! Thanks for sharing Ash and take care mate.
Thank you Jason
Great picking.
I love watching people with this lock! it's amazing!!
Excellent and informative as usual! Thanks from the USA. Rhode Island
Excellent video. Thank you from Arkansas 😊
Absolutely excellent video my friend 🐊🌴😎
Excellent and informative as usual! Thanks from USA rhode island
Would you be interested in a dual custody soviet era really large padlock with two sets of keys, and what i believe is the original box from Turkmenistan that a friend of mine sent me? I was able to pick one side open, but even the key for the other side is unreliable. I don't know if its a stuck pin or something, but i was able to shim that side from the front to get it open. Not sure what anyone would use it for. It's bloody huge. Weighs 1173g and the shackle itself is 75mm. I'd love to see it restored. But i can't figure out how to get it apart without damaging it
I have to re-edit.. So 2,200 views and only 340 give him a thumbs up 34 people comment? C'mon people atleast recognize he is awesome at what he does and appreciate the work he puts into all of this.... just say "thank you Ash for your time".. like so... Thank you Ash, Jason and Leon! Very interesting... nice that Masterlock actually made something you have to work on. I'm pretty proud #3 5 and even 1 I have had success.. its just a hobby but keeps my mind busy.. again, thanks Ash, appreciate what you do and the knowledge you have gave me.. wish I had a 10th of the talent you have.. God Bless.. its not that hard guys (and girls) he's a gifted guy with a specific talent and personally l appreciate him sharing.. Thanks Ash... sorry man. Didn't mean to go on but the ratio is killing me you deserve better. 👍
I have one in my collection. Nice lock to have in a collection.
A beast indeed, well done! Hard to believe it is a Master!
Awesome Beast picking 😃 great locks!! 🐾🐈🐈⬛🐾🍻👍👏
Can you show us what the T pins are looking like while you’re picking it?? That would be very interesting to see
Yeah I was torn between showing I could pick the lock and showing it picked, if that makes sense? Maybe I could do an open pick another time
We all know you can do it screw the nay sayers! lol
Thanks
Been a long time since I've heard anyone praise Master Lock... Nice for a change 😆
Masterlock 19 ,when Masterlock actually made good locks 🔒 instead of why both locking it locks 🔓
If Masterlock put the LOTO core in the Magnum it'd be the best lock on the martket for the money.
I’m very new to lock picking and have a question. Why do you start from pin 6 and work your way to pin 1. I have a terrible time finding pin 6 unless I start at pin 1. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for letting me ask a really “noob” question.
Isn’t it the number 19 that has those crazy pins because you self-key it? I think Bosnian Bill had a video on this. As delivered, each chamber has one long serrated pin in it. You insert the key, twist it hard, and each pin breaks into two parts at the nearest serration, giving you your pinning for that specific key.
No, that's not this lock. These are known for having some what are basically "zero lift" pins, that make these pretty difficult to pick.
What a chonky lock. Nice pick!
They should've kept the core, but made the springs less prone to breaking. That would make their modern products a LOT better.
Master Lock's best lock?
That's like saying that you have a favorite turd🌰
#kraken200
Congratulations!
OI! YOU GOTTA LOICENCE FOR DEM
PICKS THEN?
Things a mammoth
Made when master lock actually had standards... Lol
I’m kind of laughing at the title of this one. If you’ve watched bosnianbill’s video on the model 19 you know why you shouldn’t pick it. It’s because it’s incredibly difficult. He compared the keyway to the TrioVing D-12 which as a most of us know is extremely hard to pick because the keypins literally rest on the warding so getting a pick under them has a really high chance of oversetting them.
👏✌️👌
Why I shouldn't pick it? Relax noob.
LOL!!
Actually they still make the best master padlock: the pro series 6727 but you put a abloy or assa core inside😂
The Walmart I used to work for switched to Masterlock pros with Medeco cores.
Medeco marketed Master padlocks as their own for many years. I prefer to put ASSA cylinders in them, but client gets to pick the cylinder. @@logicplague2077
Squire SS100CS is better.
Can you bypass it? It seems most Masterlocks suck for that.
That is hardly the BEST lock from Master, but it was a large one, no doubt. Master makes commercial models that never get featured by yootoobers, particularly the ones that take door lock cylinders by Medeco, Assa, Ruko etc. There was also the first "Door lock Cylinder" padlock which resembled the #19 from Master, the model #29.
If the core needs to be from another manufacturer, the lock isn’t a Master Lock any more
