So how hard ARE these Master Lock combination locks to decode 🤔
That lock actually put up a bigger fight than I expected.
Well done 😀
Nice bit of decoding 👍
🐈⬛🐾🐈🐾👍🇬🇧🍻
Nice decoding Ash and thanks for sharing. Take care mate and have a fantastic weekend.
So basically your neighbour had a Master Lock that was unpickable.
Now there's a first!
Sorry, I just couldn't pass up the playful opportunity.
Nicely DECODED 😉👍
Nice job. I'm currently trying my hand at spin dial combo decoding. Interesting break from picking & different choice for combo lock. Cool video 😎👍
Great video Ash mate👍😎😊🇬🇧👊
So feel for the loose gates to unlock? I’ve been trying to fix my lock I messed ip
I have two of these locks. One I can decode very easily and the other gives me a hard time. 🤷🏽♂️
Hint/Tip: when decoding these, check the looseness of adjacent wheels. If youre in a true gate the adjacent wheel or one of the other wheels will become stiffer. Also, dont pull too hard as they get bound up in the ratchet springs.
Really good tips👍
Yup
Coincidently I had a similar situation, (lock given to me closed to determine combination) there is a much faster/easier less complicated way to open on the code !
Hi there, i got me one of these, but it is locked in an open position and I cant get it back to where it should be in order to lock what I need it to do. Can you assist?
I don't know why but I am definitely a natural at these types of locks, super soft tension when picking, but these if I can't feel anything I just jack up the tension the hardest I've ever pulled, and they lock up hard, but still movable, but I get all these ones open fast, work days or longer on some locks picking
Ooh not being able to do it for your neighbor is so embarrassing.
It’s happened to me too…
I have a question. I am not very familiar with combination locks that have the code wheels running along the spine of a lock such as this. Although this method was probably easier, would a deciding shim still work in this style lock?
Usually not in my experience - the gates are right inside the wheels, and your shim or knife tool just can't get at them. I have never tried the Master version of this style though, but it's true for Abus and others...
I've been tackling one of these for a few weeks and it's hit or miss. I record the combo with a camera as a backup and can usually get it in under 5 minutes, but sometimes the bindings are totally unpredictable and it can take much longer. Maybe a 70% success rate for a relatively quick open at this point.
Put a bit of RAG through the latch grab both ends and snap pull down they fall open with a RAG or a tea towel to funny really.. NO tension Needed at all guys. just turn each wheel from the bottom no tension and try each number and the correct number will move back and forth a little between your fingers more than when its on the wrong numbers it stands out . try it yourself no tension at all The one I have the wheel packs are tight but the correct numbers the wheel has a touch more back and forth movment between your fingers than all the rest do . Just try the correct number feel to the others no mistake. And no finger cramps from pull tensioning 😅
Well done 👍👍 have you found out what was broken at master lock from your friend? Just curious 😅
I wish to see you how you are open car looks ?
Lock Noob doesn't have a vice big enough to mount a car in.
I decoded this lock 5 times in a row and now I can't get the 6th time no matter what I do.
Did you keep the neighbours lock, maybe you need to inspect it
Yeah, i really dont know why locks with this mechanism are still being made. Its not just Masterlock that is still making them. Ive seen Yale, Wilko and BurgWachter too. Theyre just weak unsecure junk. As well as being easy to pick, theyre easy to twist off or force with a hammer too. Junk.
The lack of depth of shackle in the body is what annoys me most
Probably horrible to decode like cheap locks are to SPP due to poor manufacturing.
"Master lock", nice name but actually it's a poor chinese lock, right?
