Nothing wrong with a video that returns to the basics! Especially one that lays some broad groundwork like categories or definitions.
While I’ll give you wafer lock can be and even may usually be low security locks; there are some seriously secure wafer locks out there as they can be built to handle the element quite well these can be used to secure exterior gates/doors at secure facilities. Nice video offering clear and concise information.
Well done. You showed the diagnostic features of the locks very systematically. New peeps need to know these before they move into the weird stuff you showed at the end. Another commenter asked for a Part 2 and I would like that too. Some with magnets or push in elements. Frankly, some of your descriptions made me think of Peter Field talking patents. Have a good day.
Awesome! Worth a bookmark for sure!
Cool video. I would be happy to see some specialised or strange types of locks from your collection.
I don't think I've ever seen a cutaway warded lock. Perhaps because they are so uncommon. I believe I only have one warded lock in my collection. I managed to find it at a dollar store. The last time I spotted one in the wild was probably 30+ years ago. They hold up well outdoors because of the simple design.
I think you got this video just perfect.
Would be nice to see a video on that warded cut cutaway as that's the first cutaway of a warded lock I've seen.
Cheers Lock Noob 😉👍
Cool vid! Thanks for sharing Ash and have a fantastic weekend.
Good video👍. I think this will help many people at the start as lock pickers so that they see what the different names are and can look up more information about them, picking tips etc or others who need help with a lock, and a little shorter than "Pick every type of Lock!" which I think is brilliant for new lock pickers.
Slider- wafer lock end of story.
Thanks for the review 😁
very cool and great video Ash mate 👍👊😎🇬🇧😊
Brilliant, thanks.
Excellent video. Thank you for your time……..
Nicely done Lock Noob and it applies to North American locks as well
Thank you for this video
awesome job!
Whats the hardest to pick?
Or
What reqires the most specialized and expensive tooling to pick?
Would classify, tubular and crosslocks as a variant of pin tumbler locks
Well, broadly yes, same as dimple locks
Great video 😀🐈⬛🐾🐈🐾🍻
Wafer locks get no love. They're not as low security as people think.
Have you noticed what some people lock their £10,000 pushbike up with?
An old Kryptonite U-lock. If you lose the key, you can use a Bic pen instead.
What's that key at 1:28, that has a brass insert at the front? Is there a pick video on the coresponding lock?
Looks like a Kaba.... or after a Diamond
@@TequilaDaveno, the one after kaba. The key that has an inserted moving part
@budalo10 May be a Japanese lock similar to an MTL Interactive but the key is different. LegendOfTheSamuri has probably picked one, think the lock said Diamond in it.
