    I have been a history professor for 27 years, the best students I had were homeschooled. I have been so impressed that started to share all my lectures as a free resource to help homeschoolers. Shortly after that many homeschooling families asked me to create unit studies as well. Which I have also done, but I have always kept the lectures free to help homeschoolers.

    We used All About Reading with our boy for grade 1 and 2. By the middle of grade 2 it wasn’t hard work for him. Sort of like your daughter. She’ll get it eventually.🎉

      Yes, it's helpful having a child who I've already taught. It totally adds a lot more confidence and patience into the mix. :)

    Yes to times tales!! 🎉🎉 Game changer for my daughter with dyslexia and dyscalcula! I hear you on temps (and sunshine)! If it's not sunny, I want to hibernate. I'm looking into light therapy lamps. Some ppl swear by them. Great job hanging in there through the hard times👍

    Half-year?! That seems crazy! I know you do Jan to Dec (which makes so much sense!) so June would be half way. haha! That's just crazy because it does seem like you just did your curriculum videos. We are taking more of a summer than I ever have...just because I need it. I am thankful for this flexibility.

    You are so balanced in your approach to education. Iove that!!!!! I'm an older homeschool mom of six. Two graduated, one in his career and one college, I will have two high schoolers, one jr high and one elementary left in the home. Thank you for encouraging moms!!!!

    We sometimes go slower on morning virtues especially when we are burned out!!! Nothing wrong with taking a break from the extras!!! I feel like multiplication needs extra work!!! I’ve found that wiv all my kids!!! We love MVC!!! I have girls naturally good at math!!! I read the back of a book my teenager wanted to buy and I said you can as long as you know that’s not how you behave!!! We love guest hollow science and we love it!!!

    Spring and Fall are my times too. When I'm too hot or cold it's harder to do all the things. ❀ looking back at the year I can see this.

    You should look into the instruction book called reading pathways the first two thirds of the book teaches reading fluency and the last third works on improving vocabulary. It is not a book to be done just in one year but to be done over multiple years.

      Thanks for sharing this. After looking at it, I’m going to add it to our lessons to boost fluency. â˜ș it looks like a great addition to our ELA. Looks like it can be done quickly too.

    First off thank you you so much for your videos. They have helped me in my homeschooling process with my kiddos. Soo Soo grateful. I may have missed it but what LA does your son use. And if it's not Abeka, can I ask why you have a different one for him?

    • @ThisHomeschoolHouse
      @ThisHomeschoolHouse  Pƙed 8 dny +2

      He’s currently using The Good & The Beautiful level 3. The only reason he’s still using that is because it’s been working just fine for him and he’s reading fluently. He doesn’t need the rigorous phonics that Abeka offers.
