I totally agree that watching your child learn to read is a great joy. English is such a challenge to learn to read yet she does it so well.

I’ve recently been introduced to a curriculum called Playing Preschool which is activity based learning. very basic stuff but I’m trying to be more creative because I’m not good at the creative part. Mostly using it for my 2 year old but my 4 year old likes it too. I’m sure it’s similar to the activities in horizons.
Lol I'm so glad you openly admit and allow your kids to watch tv and CZcams and stuff. Lol I do too but so many times, people are so taboo about it and look at you like you're some kind of bad Mom for using electronics.

Have you guys tried board games? I made my own letter bingo and it's the most excited I've been able to get my daughter for learning letters and working on letter recognition! We used the letter pieces from a wooden puzzle and put them in a bowl. We pull one out at a time say the letter, find and cover it on our card, and then say some things that start with that ketter and she'll put it on the puzzle board. Okay put the Q on the queen. It went so well!
Do you prep the night before for homeschool if so can you do a video on that?

Happy Friday!! Great video, thanks Kayla. Did Riley learn to read by just following the curriculum or did you do some other activities? That drawing book is amazing. You always find the most amazing things. I picked up the wooden pattern block puzzle activity for my 3 year old after I saw Jackson doing it. The train set is great as well.

curious if you go buy your states school schedule and age requirements for grade placement? My almost 4 year old started TGB pk curriculum, but I can definitely see us starting the K curriculum by August (when she is supposed to be PK4)

Hslda has info for every state on their website. They are homeschool lawyers you can employ if you want to but don’t have to
Different states have different laws and regulations. The site the other commenter said is an amazing tool to help you start.

I was planning on homeschooling my boy before he went to kindergarten changed my mind and put him school and so he had kindergarten and first grade he's in now he loves school and he's doing great in it . Also I am going to be getting a morning job soon so it all works out great take him to school then to to work afterwards. You doing a great job at homeschooling your kids . i was planning on homeschooling as well, im a sahm, my kids are only 2 & 1 but ive decided on going navy so homeschooling is out of the question. i also would love for them to get out & make friends young. i was friends w the same people from k-12, we graduated together. even tho friendships dont last i would like him to have that experience

My question too
It depends on what states you live in like I live in Texas so I have to teach my daughter spelling, reading, grammar, math and good citizenship. Other than that I decide what she needs to know in those subjects I can make my own curriculum or buy a curriculum but in that curriculum I can always pick and choose based on my daughters needs. BUT with that being said that’s my state so look up your state’s requirements and laws for homeschooling. Some states have a lot of restrictions on home you homeschool and some like my state are really loose with the restrictions.

It’s interesting that the Africa book is all about living in the jungle in mud houses and cooking with firewood yet, here I am in Africa, watching this video on my iPad, connected to Wi-Fi, while baking in my electric oven 😂. I guess the stereotypes about Africa is not likely to stop anytime soon.

I would be willing to bet that the booklets that come with their suggested activities that they have a teachers guide that suggests how you do these little activities!!!!!!!!! You DID NOT think of the letter bingo on your own bc it is in the pre-K3 little handbook!!!
