Interesting... don't judge a book by its cover! Get out on one and try it out. Textron would not let this be released if they felt it would flop. I am still not sure why people bash other brands cause at the end of the day we all pay top $$ to acquire, go out and beat the crap out of our sleds! Every brand has its lemons, this can be said with trucks, laptops, drones etc... so the question is what brand are you gonna sink all that dough into? Cause at the end of the day it's what makes you happy :)
is the track still 15in. wide??? and how deep are the lugs?? and how long is this track?? if the same as last year might put more effort on camoplast and kimpex ect. to keep a track on this that wont tear when you hit a rock or stump!! curious to see what happens with this setup
I would like to try one out. It appears to be the real deal for mountain riding. Of course, I'm the only snowmobiler in the world that is not a "drink the kool-aid" of a particular brand guy. If it's a snowmobile, I would like to try it and would be open to owning one. I've ridden axys chassis, newer Ski-doo, and some Arctic Cats. But if your are a Polaris guy in particular, you are unable to ever look at anything other than Polaris no matter what it is....... It's really a strange phenomenon to me. I don't understand what kind of marketing wank Polaris does to make people this way. I'm interested in the Alpha more than anything else on the market right now.
Emmett Tucker, founder of Tucker Sno-cat said "going over 25 mph in deep snow is crazy" that is because of rocks, stumps, fence posts, an ice balls that you cannot see. So, be careful!
Now...they just need to lighten up the front end and it will be a better and lighter sled than an Axys. A belt drive, lighter can and, getting rid of all the hundreds of rivets would help!
flapjacklouie...Older Pro model a arms were not a good design because, they pulled apart and usually went into and broke the shock. A arms are engineered to bend to not create more damage to other things like the bulkhead. Witch by the way they do a very good job, unlike the Skidoo's. And yes, a arms on the Cat are tougher. Also, I have over 2k miles on my '15 Pro and close to 2k miles on my '17 Axys witch the compression is still good on both. I believe the issues guy's are having with thier engines blowing up is because, they do'nt let thier sleds warm up, just ride, and do'nt make sure to clean off and keep thier intakes free of snow/frost buildup. And A arms do'nt take away that Cat's are still heavy...even with a single rail beam.
@0:50 they say the belly pan is reshaped to move your feet forward. And then there's a guy standing way the hell back on the rails. This is a stupid marketing move. You should pay more attention to the details of the video you're using to promote your equipment.
Hahah yeah put it to shame there is a reason why Cats chassis are durable. They don't bend like the axys because the company is all about weight savings.....
Yea the polaris frame could be allot stronger for sure but they dance circles around a cat like make no mistake cat is trying to step it up but come on man be pretty nice to see the side winder set up in a new rider forward platform
When you think about it and actually look/ ride it you know its not coping skidoo. For one not just the edge "flexes " like a skidoo the entire track moves and flexes to find you the most traction and ridability you could ever hope for in a mountain sled.
Cat is always 5 years behind the rest. Ok, so they have a new skid, who cares, the sled is ugly and outdated. The sound like crap, they look like crap and they don’t sell for a reason. You can buy two year old holdovers every year for a reason, nobody wants them.
Cory turner Okay, they sound awesome, look awesome, ride awesome, and are far above the other brands in development due to the fact they don't NEED to change chassis. How dumb do you have to be to not realize this, blinded by being biased.
T M they need to change the chassis, that’s why they don’t sell. You can see the guys struggling to ride this sled in the video. It’s gonna be known as the “washout queen” you watch. Happy trails, enjoy your kitty cat.
Best deep snow hill sled out on the market they say boy i say i say boy, dont' you know boy. ARCTI CAT AN AMERICAN COMPANY you should be proud of that , first front engine sled was a cat, first slide rail suspension was cat, now all the sleds have slide rail. ALPHA is a special suspension for a special purpose . So dont' get mad boy thats what competition is all about like Ford vs Chevy , Lamborghini vs Ferrari thats what makes it fun. Like when one snow machine blows by another. I am cat guy . have 15 of them ,and i dont' go around insulting skidoo ,polaris or yamaha people ,well just a little but only if they start first . ARCTIC CATS HAVE THAT ANERICAN SOUND Even Mario Andretti owned Cats "COSI BELLA " So have little fun with it boy . "Chow. Big AL . BOSTON . MA.
whoop whoop! can't wait to test the alpha :D
Crazy good system. This thing can do things you never thought possible on a sled.
Have to try one soon!

Exactly! I'm especially stoked to see how the sport is progressing, much different from my old 2gen polaris but equally as fun lol
When said... just simply well said
id like to see it in deep snow
Bought one last year couldn't be more happy we will see at the end of this upcoming season 6 years of warranty so I am not worried
SICK!!!!

sundogtune 15 inch wide, 3 inch lugs, 154 and 163 options
So they dropped the angle again or??
Sick !!
But how does the singlerail handle cliff drops and jumps etc?
The hardcore is designed specifically for those scenarios.
id like to see some deep snow video..
Arctic is the best

this gonna be on the yamaha's too?
Nick R no Yamaha actually has a brain.
Cat and yammy are the same machine now. My friend has a cat dealership with yammy sleds on the floor but they have cat decals. Go figure.
@@Sackmatters really Yamaha has a brain....? Must not be a mountain rider eh?
30 years in the makeing
James Johnson and still don’t have it figured out. Lol.
Now...they just need to lighten up the front end and it will be a better and lighter sled than an Axys. A belt drive, lighter can and, getting rid of all the hundreds of rivets would help!
Polaris A arms are like glass! And Polaris Motors are garbage!
flapjacklouie...Older Pro model a arms were not a good design because, they pulled apart and usually went into and broke the shock. Why all the purple. I mean the little bit on the alpha is ok but the mtn cat is purple wtf
Bryan Mayes: Purple stops the hiccups if you say it out loud. Could be handy after a big mountain hotdog.
Try to catch the axys
ricter29 And your Axys can try to catch a sidewinder.
@0:50 they say the belly pan is reshaped to move your feet forward. And then there's a guy standing way the hell back on the rails. This is a stupid marketing move. You should pay more attention to the details of the video you're using to promote your equipment.
Can't beat a Yamaha sidewinder
VolvoIsak Definitely, only thing that can do that is a thundercat with the better clutching.
Haven't rode one but I've heard they still ride heavy as shit.
If you need someone to test how well this sled gets stuck repeatedly im your man!!! HMU
😨
Your engineers keep focusing on the frame and not making a solid engine that lasts more then 2000kms 😂😂😂
Your a fucking idiot lol
Yup a true idiot here..... thanks for sharing your lack of intelligence.
Not a trail sled for 1 and 2 the c-tec motors are holding up really well... many you got your brands confused
LOL. Let's see it in some real powder.
Kicks ass, got through the stages of learning a new sled last year can't wait to push it to its limits this upcoming season
Arctic cat is wayy beter then ski doo and lynx
they still haven't built a new chassis fucking seriously
why build a new chasis when the one they have now is great?
Brad watts Have you not ridden a new M? Why would they build a new chassis?
technology has to move forward boys and the gen4 and ayxs frames put these sleds to shame
No rider input my ass. All of those riders had a leg fully extended with their entire body on one side to do anything
Martz907 as a trail rider it might be hard for you to understand mountain riding
T M you don't have to be mean
If I was a cat guy I would be very disappointed
M J why?
jealous belt eater owner
M J unless you ride in the mountains
klasmvm Belt eater...?
2 friends have blown more then 5 belts at 600 km one bondocker the other one a skidoo
Way to just copy ski doo’s flex edge track... arctic cat will NEVER be the best snowmobile
When you think about it and actually look/ ride it you know its not coping skidoo. For one not just the edge "flexes " like a skidoo the entire track moves and flexes to find you the most traction and ridability you could ever hope for in a mountain sled.
Ever ugly colours. Looks like the 90s threw up on it.
Ernie Desjardins I believe that was thier goal, old school colors.
I WISH IT STILL WAS THE 1990s

Albert Emanuello not to be mean but they sound terrible and the plastics they use look very cheap!
