I’m sure if he had dropped him and made it clear to the club he didn’t want him they would have backed that decision..

      Murtough, Woodward/ Arnold - The brain trust. Why give contracts to Rashford, Sancho, Martial, Pogba, Maguire, Sanchez higher wages than Man City or Liverpool players?? Dint u research/benchmark?
      Especially when these Utd flops have never exceeded these rival players' levels and more importantly no other club is willing to pay them the same?
      Then you cannot even sell them until their contracts run out. Cannot replace them until they are sold.

The guy was happy to sit there at home, knowing he makes more than 95% of his teammates, and steal a living, when knowingly, all he had to do was man up and apologize for a dumb tweet. Hes fine to sit at home and watch his teammates struggle and the fans struggle and not care enough to say sorry and try to come back and make a difference. He, and the players today of a similar attitude are ruining in real time what all our legends built for the last 20 years. We go from one of the most feared teams on the planet, to a joke within a season of SAF leaving, and the joke has become worse and worse over time. Sancho, Martial, Rashford to name a few with poor attitudes. They can't even pretend they don't, it shows on the pitch for all to see. Clubs a disgrace and it needs the reset button hit. The last comment shows why Pierce (and the rest of the English coaching fraternity) are finished. You don't weigh the pass completion rate heavier than other considerations, but it's another useful data point. If your center half completes 93% of his passes, but they are all 3 yards and sideways, it might explain why the other center half, who makes the same passes but at 87%, is less effective.

    Some excellent points throughout this episode. The culture has gone from the club; poor performances normally resulted in a stern telling-off from the likes of Ferguson, and then you were dropped, with you, the player, earning your spot back. Now, we have EtH, where we have underperforming players, and he's continually playing them, and this will only bring the standards down. Players being late and poor training sessions give players around you the wrong message, especially at a club that has a good academy with youth players looking up to the supposed professional players above them!
    Sancho had issues at City, was good at Dortmund and now awful at United. He hasn't been called up to England due to issues; everything tells you it's not just at United - it's the player. Just a shame the PFA hasn't got involved and the media highlighted the errors of the players not directing it at United.
    P.S. EtH didn't approach the media regarding Sancho, the media questioned why Sancho was dropped immediately before the Arsenal game. Given the circumstances, the manager was within his right to publicly shame Sancho for his actions. He protected him before and gave him time off to help him, and look how Sancho repaid him!

    • @civildiscourse7626
      @civildiscourse7626 Před 4 měsíci +1

      Sancho had issues at city but not so much because they tried to keep him. ETH was well within his rights to publicly criticise sancho levels? He wasn’t, sancho wasn’t part of the arsenal game they lost- ETH was emotional after that game. You mentioned fergie, fergie himself as strict as he was didn’t believe in publicly criticising player performance levels, and fergie didn’t pick the same players through long term poor form.

    • @GrahransWoWGold
      @GrahransWoWGold Před 4 měsíci

      @@civildiscourse7626@civildiscourse7626 He wasn't available for the Arsenal game due to poor performances in training. It was a result of that he hasn't played since - that has no consequence on whether EtH was emotional or not - he was asked a question, and he answered it truthly!
      The manager is well within his right to publicly shame a player for not putting 100% into training; especially, when it prevents him from playing in an important game. He used the subtle approach by letting him go away for a couple of months and reestablishing himself, but that didn't work!
      However, neither has the public approach! The only alternative is the loan him to Dortmund in a bid to garner some sort of form-perforamce that will hopefully increase his value when United look to offload him in the summer!
