      Why not…?
It worked with Zidane.. Pep… Ancelotti
I personally think it’s more of an English manager thing.
Probably explains why no English manager has won the prem.
I think ex players should take the Zidane, Mourinho, Pep & Arteta route of working under a great manager first & then transition.
A lot of English managers also won’t get jobs abroad to improve their tactics due to the English being so bad at foreign languages also.
It’s a lot easier when someone like Mourinho, Pep & Ancelotti rocks up & they speak a million different languages,
Can you imagine someone like Rooney rocking up to Getafe or Verona with that Thick Scouse Accent🤣

If he really wants us to take him seriously as a manager then he needs to drop down to the Championship and show us what hes capable of. Though not always true, top level players have a higher likelihood of being good managers as they played under top managers and coaches and have experience playing in innovative tactical systems. In order to succeed in your role for the team you need to play in coordination with the the whole team and therefore have an understanding of the team strategy. Moreover, being hardened by changing room politics and seeing how the top managers communicated and controlled the group should help.

Love Simon but sometimes he bilndly guesses based on his own bias: "Would have got them relegated the next season"

Say maybe arteta should not have got arsenal job, arteta was picked by the best manager in the world to be his assistant and arteta learned from the best in the world for years. Frank take on jobs that he has no experience for instead of learning his trade lower down leagues or from a top quality manager

Lampard isn't a manager. Let's leave it at that.

Jim had the answer. Ex players are paranchuting into the jobs that dont allow for momentum, so yes they will be judged more harshly
Derby was lampard's level and should have refused the chelsea job
Now the likes of john terry are considering league 1

Jim White should change his name to Keir Starmer. He keeps flip flopping and is quite contradictory.

Give him the Man City job, that might give the rest of the league a chance.

It's amazing how much the media love the players from those England sides and how little they're actually achieving.
Phil Neville - poor in every job
Lampard - poor in all but one job
Gerrard - good at Rangers, poor elsewhere
Rooney - poor at every job
    Ashley Cole - Lampard & Rooney's lapdog
John Terry - nobody will touch him

As a Birmingham City Supporter I 100% agree with Simon Jordan.. 6th after 10 games wrongfully sacked Eustace and now Rooney has played 4, lost 3 and threw away a 2-0 lead in the final 10 mins at home in his 4th.. Well done Wagner 👏🏻👏🏻
