Listening to this now and judging a player on whether he’s had a ‘big moment’ like scoring in a final is the most ridiculous thing to me.
An iconic moment makes you a hero, an icon etc but it doesn’t make you any better of a player. De Bruyne has had multiple huge moments in league campaigns with big goals and assists to carry his team to wins which ultimately led to them winning titles. The ‘big moment/big game’ thing is rubbish.

for me he is a top 10 mid-fielder of all time and yes he had multiple big moments if that what defines greatness from your point of view, I can name a lot like scoring against Brazil in the world cup quarter final and in this season he had many big moments as well, that rocket he fired in the UCL semi-final at the Bernabéu, by the time he stops playing we can all acknowledge how special he was. Fede's an offensive powerhouses and his stats reflect that. His expected goals and assists as a midfielder are absurd in comparison to de Jong. I don't think both should be compared considering de Jong plays deeper and has carries the ball forward while Valverde plays more like a number 10, simply not the same type of midfielder.

Messi wasn't a good free kick taker, limited aerial threat, average penalty kicker. By definition Ronaldo was more of an "all round player". But he still wasn't better than Messi, because what Messi did better than Ronaldo he did so much better that it made him a far more impactful player.

The amount of bashing on the city treble team is laughable. They got to the FA cup final without conceding a single goal. Only goal conceded the whole tournament was a penalty in the final. Theyre the only English team ever to win the champions league without losing a game. Battered the only other 2 favourites (Madrid and Bayern) 4-0 and 3-0 respectively. Won the league with ~6 games to spare. Literally cant have a more dominant treble than that.
