He won European Super Cup and club world cup. Not to forget, Salah has a PL record for most goals scored in a single season in 2017/18. He is won the golden boot twice in England, and lost it to Kane last season with 1 goal difference. He is probable wining the golden boot this season.

As someone who has been fortunate enough to see Egypt's "golden generation" plays with the like of Abu treka. ahmed hassan, Mohamed barakat, zidane, amr zaki, el hadery (even gedou for that one AFCON) and having Egypt's greatest ever coach Hassan Shehata, I have to say, Salah's accomplishment of dragging this Egyptian team to the WC shows his true greatness. The difference in quality and cohesion between the team that won 3 AFCONs in a row and the one which qualified for the world cup is ridiculous. That golden generation was filled with talent that could have accomplished so much more in Europe if they had decided to play there, however, Egypt's socio-political climate at the time was far different before the first revolution and there was probably no need or desire to leave the country.

I used to support shaun on this pod then man put MAHREZ THIRD! He's bugging. Samuel eto'o, George weah, Didier drogba, El hadary, Roger milla, ABEDI PELE, Kanu Nwankwo, Aboutrika, Wael Gomma, Okocha, Rashidi Yekini and Hossam Hassan. Every name here deserves to be called more than some players mentioned. And what's thata bout not watching them. Did you watch Pele or Maradona or Cruyff? You watch highlights only. "It makes the list piss-poor now, cause George Weah should have been higher." - Shaun, the only person to leave George Weah completely out...

Yeah he’s saying he hasn’t watched him play so why would he put him in 5th or 6th when people are saying he’s top 3, it wouldn’t make shauns list credible

Abouterika was better than anyone of those players you got up there. The man was that talented that he refused to play overseas because Al Ahly matched any offers from overseas

I wouldn’t even place on him 18th he’s known in Africa yes but outside of it he’s unknown

The topic is “top 10 African footballers”not popular African footballers lol

Senegal barely beat Zimbabwe. Algeria couldn't even beat Sierra Leone. Afcon is literally 1000 times harder than the world cup. World cup is D-league compared to Afcon. Which makes Aboutrika's record even way more impressive. So what if he never made world cup. African qualifier rules are rigged anyway for no one to make it consistently & let alone win it EVER

Abou treika, what a shout🤩 definitely should be a little higher. Mans was mad and dominated Africa with Egypt by winning back to back to back afcons wow.

I respect shaun’s point of not picking players you haven’t seen play. How can you talk about a player on a podcast when you haven’t watched him in a game. And why would someone want to listen to people talk about a player when they haven’t seen him play. I think players like Abedi Pele, Weah, Milla should have gotten an honourable mention along the lines of they probably would have been in the top 10 had we seen them play, but you’re waffling if you try and say how good a player was if you haven’t seen games where they plaued

I mean he was bsing he said he didn’t watch weah play yet , there’s no way he didn’t watch weah play at Ac Milian and the fact that he was a Chelsea player for half of 2000 season . Man says he watches ball and is a Chelsea fan , he had a mare he just didn’t wana admit it

    • @paulcasey4282

@@ElPhenomenon I don’t think Weah was close to peak when he was at Chelsea though as he only played a handful of times and was 34. His ballon d’or winning season was 95. It’s like someone saying they know how good Kaka was because they saw him play for Orlando Pirates.
I think you can include players before your time but you should have watched full matches of them and documentaries. CZcams compilations don’t cut it as that would mean Giroud is top 10 players of all time.
