I can understand the Messi, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo picks, but the fact that none of them even mentioned Maradona or Cruyff amazes me.

I know they missed some big picks like Maradona and Cruyff but they're somewhat forgivable given there's so many other options like Messi, R9, Dinho, Xavi, Laudrup etc. But missing Baresi, Zanetti and Matthaus is unforgivable. Especially since they were stumped when they got to Inter.

Done these drafts with my friends multiple times and from personal experience the best strat is to prioritze the fullbacks 1st, then centre backs, then the goalie. From there it's gg. Most well known world class players are midfielders, wingers and strikers. Your memory will struggle if you start picking from strikers and work your way down to the back.

Thing is Messi may be the best player of all time but he's not so far above the rest that I'd take him over a defence, midfield or frontline stacked with legendary players.
