The Groundbreaking of the Layton Utah Temple

- A small handful of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered on the overcast and 40-degree morning of May 23, 2020, to break ground for the Layton Utah Temple. The group was limited in size because of COVID-19 precautions. This is the recording of the event.
Congratulations to everyone there at Layton, members or non-members of the Church. God bless you in the process of building a beautiful temple for your generation and for all who will follow you.

I'm so grateful & excited for this temple in the city and stake that I grew up in. It is a beautiful location and will serve many faithful members of the church in the Layton area. This temple will bless and unite and strengthen many families. I look forward to the day that I can return to this area where I have so many memories, and be able to enter the house of the Lord there. When I do, I pray that it can be with friends & family. Our loving, merciful & patient Father in Heaven continues to bless His children. He knows us and loves us very personally because we are His.
It's such a blessing to view the Groundbreaking of the Layton , Utah Temple. As It is here my grandpa lived. I know he is very happy !

How beautiful! The trees and plants in the background are a tasteful addition. The truth is going "forth boldy, nobly, and independent."
Heritage is in many good hands, and it is passed on zealously from generation to generation in truth and simplicity. Thank God. This is already a miracle, and it has been going on for 2 centuries.

Why more temples? Because Christ’s work for this life and for eternity needs to go forward at an accelerated pace. We need more temples and people who are worthy to go into them. We need to join Christ to bring his plan for our happiness forward.

My dear brothers and sister. I know our temples serve our purpose but our temples are not complete without the main component. THE GATES . The we many' enter his gates with Thanksgiving and his courts with praise '. Where are thy gates O Lord God that thy sheep may return ?
