Two (of many) rules:
1. Watch until the end of the credits.
2. Keep an eye out for Stan Lee's cameos.
I always state #1 as "don't leave until the light come up." I had to tell that to two different groups of people when I went to see Black Panther.
@@nightthornkvala94132 Rookies
@@cryingtomatohead8626 I literally said both times and rather loudly, "Have you guys never been to a Marvel movie before?"
@@nightthornkvala94132 FACTS
Yes, ALWAYS wait for credits to end.
It's very hard to remember these days, but Robert Downey Jr.'s career had been in the gutter for years at the time this film came out due to his drug problems, and a lot of people had serious doubts about him. But this one performance was so amazing that it completely turned things around for him.
Yeah! When he signed on to be Iron Man he was fresh out of rehab and no one else wanted to work with him. Now look at all that he built.
@@skyeperez8305 like every good actor,he channeled his inner Tony Stark. Which did quite a 180 within this movie. so did RDJ.
He wasn't "fresh out of rehab". Had been sober for at least 5 years at that point. Was still considered a huge liability for leading man of a decade long franchise though, for sure.
He was amazing in the film "Zodiac", which came out a year before Iron Man
This was brilliant casting.
Switch the drugs for alcohol, change the acting talent into engineering, and he's basically the same person.
Every single loose end will be solved in the movies... don't worry.
Those were always the best parts.
nope...they did not plan it that well...but they tried..the recasts are so jarring....war machine hulk thanos himself red skull fandral and howard stark
@@razkable shut up
@razkable yeah they did, lmao way better then something like boruto
The “Taking out the Trash” line is great.
We are so lucky that Tom Cruise did not take the role. RDJr was perfect as Tony Stark.
Omfg Tom Cruise was even considered?! Bloody hell we're so lucky RDJr took the role 😂😂😂
@@dorkywhovian1018 Considered is taking it lightly. The Disney execs wanted him and he almost committed but was in the middle of filming a Mission Impossible and was not excited about the multiple years commitment. He is being considered as a version of Iron Man in phase 4 exploring the Multiverse for Marvel
@@rnkelly36 that would be cool, he appearing as another universe version of iron man. after all MCU's Earth-616 will always be RDjr
Actually Tom was considered way back in the 90's as well as Leonardo Dicaprio for the James Cameron Spider-man Rated R script he wrote. The technology wasn't there yet that's why both movies was never done at that time.
@@remmborn8154 here's a dirty secret...if you ever read comics from the 60's to the 20 teens RDJ was not actually playing TS, he was RDJ playing TS playing RDJ. TS was never the quippy character he was a serious alcoholic with problems not Spider-man with the joke's every minute.
Super fun fact: Tony wasn't supposed to say he was Iron Man at the end of the film. RDJ improved it and it was kept in.
i feel if you did not watch iron man in 2008 the ending of endgame does not hit as hard
@@razkable it sure does! I literally got spoiled about his death as soon as the movie came out and knew about it for years. But a few months ago I decided to go through the entire mcu in chronological order bc I saw Far from home in the cinema and I really wanted to know the whole story.
Guess what? Even though I knew he wasn't going to die I was scared af when he got stabbed in Infinity War. When though I knew Thanos was going to snap I was reliefed and heartbroken when Wanda destroyed the mind stone. And I bawled my eyes out when Tony died.
You see, marvel knows how to make good movies. You can literally know everything beforehand and still get invested in every single character.

It warms my heart to see you guys watch the movie that started a legendary franchise.
Guys, in the scene where we see Tony getting the suit off and Pepper comes down , in the background you can see briefly a replica of Capitan America's shield. Also, Coulson and SHIELD were introduced. Do you know there's a show call Agents of Shield? Fury is awesome.
"Cheeseburger first" ...a man after my own heart.
Just make sure, as others have said, you watch after credits roll, and watch for all Stan Lee cameos. 💜 So psyched you’re starting Marvel!!! 🤘
And so it begins. All the way back in 2008 I had these hopes for what this franchise could potentially offer but little did I know just how massive the MCU would become. I'm a little envious that you guys get to experience this for the first time because what an amazing ride it is.
all thanks to thanos loki tony spiderman and the guardians...
This film is gonna end up being very historically significant as the first film from Marvel Studios and the first in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before this film, Marvel was not even in the film making business. [correction: Marvel had not INDEPENDENTLY produced any films before this.] They had sold the rights to some of their most popular characters to other film studios [correction: actually, they had partnered with other studios](so, we got the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films, the Bryan Singer X-men films, and a few others) but then they decided to keep control of their characters and make films themselves. If Iron Man hadn't done well at the box office who knows if they would have continued making more films? And now a little more than ten years (and 22 movies) since Iron Man came out, Marvel Studios and the MCU are the biggest thing going at the box office. It's really amazing when you think about it.
One small correction, Iron Man was not the first film from Marvel Studios. The film company went back to the 1990s. Their first big success was Blade in 1998.
And it's all owned by Disney.
Wrong on both counts bruh
- I believe Iron Man was the first film that Marvel Studios produced INDEPENDENTLY - that is, without partnering with another movie studio. If I'm wrong about that let me know. Disney did purchase Marvel Entertainment in 2009 but the first MCU movie distributed by Disney was The Avengers in 2012.
- Bobo Boy, I don't know what "under Stan Lee' means. Stan Lee was the primary writer and editor at Marvel Comics in the 60's when most of these characters where created - but he doesn't play a role in the movie studio business does he? He gets "executive producer" credits in most of the films but I had thought that was mostly just an honorary title.
@@victorsixtythree Iron Man was not the first film that Marvel Studios produced. As a production company they went back to the 90s and in 1998 produced Blade which was a big financial success for them.

OMG! Im so happy to see this reaction here on CZcams!! I thought you guys were only going to do the Marvel Movies reactions on Pateron! I saw only the first two Iron Man and the first Thor movie in the theater. Last summer, I recorded on DVR or bought every movie I didn't see, abd watched them, in order, before I could watch Avengers" Infinity War, which I didn't see in the theater, because I didn't see all the movies yet. Believe me, it was worth that labor of love. Besides The Walking Dead story and characters, The Marvel Movies are the best series I've ever watched. I am 60 years old, and never read a comic book in my life. I adored them all. Ok..gotta watch your reaction now. Love you two..enjoy!
I loved Steve's hilarious and joyful reactions to Tony/RDJ throughout the movie. Even after having seen the entire MCU, he still remains my favourite. Plus, I still love the Iron Man suits. This is such a great start to the MCU and believe me, it has so many more great movies ahead for you. Finally, I'm glad you've got someone advising you on the correct order to watch the movies. Each and every one of them is linked to others, whether it's the next one after or further down the line. So it's very important you watch them in the right order and never miss the post-credits or mid-credits scenes.

The reason why Samuel Jackson is in this movie...Marvel started using his likeness for Nick Fury without his permission. Samuel Jackson made them a deal: If Marvel ever had Nick Fury in a movie, Mr Jackson had dibs.

Age Of The Witch best decision ever! One a day, I was lost after I finished it😅
I did the same. I had promised my daughter that I would watch them all with her after she finished her freshman year of college. So we watched them this summer. 😁
Potential Spoiler Alert: As someone who watched the movies(mostly) as they came out, I must add that yall will never know the feeling of waiting for Thanos after his tease in Avengers FOR SIX YEARS. I saw Avengers and Infinity War and Endgame on opening night, and there was no more powerful of an experience I have felt in my life. The MCU has been with me since I was 9-10ish, and it's impact on me was undefinable. So gald to have new people enjoy the movies that I grew up with, that made me laugh and cry, that made me who I am today.
I love pretty much ALL the MCU movies, but this one continues to be my favorite. It's just SO good! A fantastic introduction to this character and to the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe. Robert Downey, Jr. is and always will be Tony Stark. This movie is practically perfect as far as I'm concerned.
Same but mostly for me doctor strange , deadpool , black panther and Iron Man I personally call him ironic man lol

At the end when Iron man said I am Iron Man, it was Robert Downey JR saying he's Iron Man because they had similar lifestyles. Tony Stark as an alcoholic and Robert Downey young foolish years battled Alcohol and Drugs. But he totally redeemed himself by getting this role and not getting into any trouble.

Nice reaction! If you're going to do the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, here is the order you need to watch them in (by release date). As you know, just kind of speed through the credits to see extra credit/end credit scenes for each movie. Not all of the extra scenes are at the end of the credits. Marvel movies were released in Phases:
Phase One:

8. Thor: The Dark World (2013)
9. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
10. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
11. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
12. Ant-Man (2015)
Phase Three:
13. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
14. Doctor Strange (2016)
15. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2017)
16. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
17. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
18. Black Panther (2017)
19. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
20. Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)
21. Captain Marvel (2019)
22. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
23. Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
Believe it or not, but there is a Phase 4, so everyone is waiting with excitement to see what is coming next. I know it is a lot of movies, but it will be fun, especially on how each movie is connected. Keep up the good work!
We will be watching all of the Marvel movies in the order they were released. Our next movie is The Incredible Hulk... hopefully we can get over this stupid COVID-19 soon so we can get back to filming! This virus is a bitch! ~ Lacey

I remember watching this when It first came out, I was seven and had no clue what was happening but I loved it!
In the comic books, Iron Man has been very popular with female comic book fans for a long time. Some people cynically suggest it's because he's rich, but I think it's because Tony Stark inspires that "I can fix him" instinct in younger women.
Omg Agent Coulson!!! That guy in the metal suit is interesting to I guess.
In the movies/TV series S.H.I.E.L.D. stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention,Enforcement and Logistics Division. In the original comics Nick Fury looked a lot like Steve if he had an eye patch.
BTW Tony's mansion has perhaps the best security in the *world*. The issue is, Stane, being a close friend of his and his fathers, was probably one of the exceptions, allowed in because he's a friend.
This is my favorite Marvel movie by far. Seen them all.

Amazed that y’all haven’t watched the MCU films, and freaking THRILLED at the prospect of seeing y’all react to them for the first time!! 😲😃😃
And so it begins, hyped
Hey, Lacey and Steve! Welcome to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! "Iron Man" is the kick-off to a spectacular cinematic journey that altered the industry paradigm. The MCU is a series of 20+ interrelated films culminating in a huge 2-part movie event! The movies are all based on Marvel Comics characters who were co-created beginning in 1961 by editor/writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. Unlike other comic universes, the Marvel Universe is set in our world with many of the principals residing in New York City. What is distinctive about the Marvel pantheon is that the characters all have feet of clay; they struggle to measure up to the burden of power. Stan, Jack and artist Don Heck introduced Iron Man in 1963 in the anthology title "Tales of Suspense" expressly modeling the character on Howard Hughes and deliberately going against the anti-establishment grain of the '60's by making him a capitalist arms dealer. Insulated by wealth and ego, the epiphany he experiences and the life-threatening wound he incurs as a result of his captivity made him vulnerable and relatable to a readership predisposed to mistrusting a quintessential captain of industry. Moreover, Tony, in the comics, is also humanized by being an inveterate alcoholic which is barely alluded to in the films. The trick worked and the dichotomy hooked readers. Reframing his captors from Vietnamese Communist guerrillas in the comics to Afghan Islamicist mujahideen, the first Iron Man film adapts Tony's origin and the "Iron Monger" story arc.
Iron Man was a second tier Marvel character known famously for his extravagant wealth and his endless struggle with alcoholism. Jon Favreau was an indie writer/director with one mainstream comedy hit, "Elf", under his belt. Robert Downey, Jr. was a respected former Brat Packer whose bankable days were behind him and who was then known more for drug addiction, womanizing and a motor mouth. This film should not have worked. After an aborted attempt at a shared universe with the Hulk in 2003 directed by serious auteur Ang Lee, Marvel threw the dice with Tony Stark and improbably won! It was kismet. Very rarely does an actor so ideally match a role. Downey, Jr. was BORN to play Tony Stark. His arc in the MCU is one of the best character developments I've ever seen in cinema. Remember Yinsen's last words, "Don't waste your life.", because Stark never forgets them.
The cast is excellent. To support RDJ, Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges was brought aboard as Obadiah Stane setting a precedent of enlisting top-tier talent for MCU films. Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia 'Pepper' Potts, Terrence Howard as Lt. Col. James 'Rhodey' Rhodes, Paul Bettany as disembodied JARVIS and director Jon Favreau himself as Harold 'Happy' Hogan round out the Stark stable. Shaun Toub is affecting as Stark's savior Yinsen and Faran Tahir brings gravitas as Ten Rings terrorist Raza. Unflappable Clark Gregg introduces SHIELD as Agent Phil Coulson and Samuel L. Jackson makes his first appearance as Director Nick Fury. Leslie Bibb has a bit part as ambitious journalist Christine Everhart as does Tim Guinee as USAF Major Allen.
TRIVIA:
1. As a tribute to Howard Hughes, who served as a template for both Howard and Tony Stark, production was based in the former Hughes Company soundstages in Playa Vista. Tony's garage/lab is the area where Hughes assembled the H-4 Hercules airplane aka 'The Spruce Goose'.
EASTER EGGS:
1. The Ten Rings terrorist organization refers to the ten alien rings worn by traditional Stark nemesis, The Mandarin, who is showcased later in the saga.
2. Former child actor Peter Billingsley from "A Christmas Story" plays the technician chewed out by Stane who returns with a grievance against Stark Industries in "Spider-Man: Far From Home"!
3. JARVIS is an acronym for 'Just A Rather Very Intelligent System'! The namesake for Tony's operating system is the human butler who looked after him as a child and who serves the Avengers in the comics: Edwin Jarvis. Mr. Jarvis plays a significant role in the TV series "Agent Carter" portrayed by James D'Arcy.
4. If viewed chronologically, then these are the second appearances of Coulson and Fury in the saga.
CAMEO:
1. Co-creator STAN LEE shows up in every Marvel movie for a Hitchcock-style CAMEO! In "Iron Man", he's the elderly gent in the smoking jacket with his arms around two nubile blondes who gets mistaken for Hugh Hefner by Tony on the red carpet! Lol.
END-CREDIT SCENE:
1. Almost all Marvel movies have multiple bonus scenes during and after the credits. The "Iron Man" end-credit scene shows Nick Fury approach Tony Stark about the Avenger Initiative.
The next chronological stop in the MCU is "Iron Man 2" and its companion One-Shot "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer" found on DPlus.
I had seen all the movies but was never invested into them. So a couples months back, I watched all the marvel universe movies in order and it was SUCH an amazing decision. One of the BEST series
This really is the Hollywood comeback story. Robert Downey Jr. had s string of hit movies include an Academy nomination for Chaplin. But then fell into drug use, drug arrests, weapons charges, jail time, rehab. Then repeat the entire cycle. He finally got himself clean, but couldn't find any movie roles because no producer could get insurance on him. Finally, Mel Gibson paid his completion bond for his comeback movie. Several movies later it was Jon Favreau who fought to get Robert Downey Jr. cast in Iron Man.
I’m glad y’all are doing marvel, very happy to see Steve enjoy Tony as much as he did. Curious to see what he’ll think of the other Steve.
About that big power reactor question, of what would it do?
No, not controlling weather or something like that, but it can power the whole continent with it.
I wish I had the money to watch your full reactions (I'm assuming you have them on Patreon or something) because I've always dreamed of watching people reacting to the entire MCU in one sitting.
Full reaction is on patreon.
If you work really hard and save money one day you'll have the >>$5
@@MiqelDotCom That's $5 monthly
RDJr doesn't play Tony Stark, he IS Tony Stark
27:10 The moment when Lacy pays Steve back for the "Pepper Potts is REALLY cute" line in the start.
Very nice to see you start the MCU, excited to see your future reactions on the movies.
i wish i could turn back the time to have the expierence again in the cinema when nick fury stepped forward and mentioned the avengers. Absolute Hype Moment!
I’m so excited to see your Reaction to the rest of the MCU
Wow, you got a road ahead of you. At least 20 MCU movies and you gotta watch them in order.
Steve has the same expression on his face that I had when I first saw the Donner Superman. My face hurt after I saw it & I realized later it was because I`d been smiling for over 2 hours straight.
Welcome to the MCU. You`re going to be experiencing that a lot.
R.I.P. Christopher Reeve, the best Superman.
I’m just saying, Iron Man is my favorite MCU character, and I hope you guys like him as well
Robert Downey Jr is so funny and terrific as the iron man! Looking forward to seeing more Lost and Marvel movie reactions ❤️
RDJ carrying MCU on his back since 2008.
It was great to see you 2 react to Iron Man. I hope you watch the second one. Plus, I am totally with Lacey...love Tony Stark and RDJ.
That end credit scene with Sam Jackson made people very excited at the time. Remember, at this point, no one knew if the shared universe would be a thing (or if it would work), and this scene basically announced that the movies would be interconnected just like the comic books.
Always watch the end clips
They are important to the overall story across the 23 movies.
"I think Jarvis is dead" lmao
Oh my god this is happening you're watching the whole mcu. I know what I'll be watching for the next 6 months

Yes, they will be watching Hulk and all these movies in the order they were released. Also, agents of shield is not on the map to watch.(at the moment)
This movie kicked off years of awesome superhero movies, tv shows and more. This is why Marvel is doing so well. Badass Tony Stark!

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one 🙌🔥🍻
I was late to watching the Walking Dead reactions live (been binging those for the past week) so I’m super excited to follow along in the MCU!! These movies are so much more than just “superhero person beats bad guy person”; they are cinematic masterpieces. The stories these movies tell and the way that every movie contributes to the bigger picture is absolutely mind blowing.
Just here binge watchin all yall reactions again so we can watch Endgame with yall tommorow @DuoReacts 😄😄 Super excited for tommorow!
You guys are gonna go on a terrific journey. Enjoy! 😆
