2 tony stark sees general ross at the end of the incredible hulk
3 thor was banished to earth (We also got introduced to hawkeye)
4 Steve Rogers wakes up after 70 years
And a year later All six of them came together as one: The Avengers

I love when people first get into the Marvel movies, having never experienced it before. I've been reading these comics all my life, and Marvel studios accomplished a lot when they created this interconnected universe. You're in for a real good time, and a roller coaster of emotions over the next 20 or so movies to come. Congrats, I'm excited for you.

Your excitement is CONTAGIOUS! Also, *Steve is right* - the less you know stepping into this, the more excitement and hype there will be. I actually hate that you already know the name "The Guardians of the Galaxy" as well as other future titles. The best (and worst) of the MCU is yet to come!
*Couple of non-spoilers for you regarding your questions for this movie:*
1) Mickey Rourke's character is *Whiplash* from the Marvel Comics.
2) *How Tony made a particle* : Scientists have been doing this for a long time. The circular thing Tony built in his house was a circular particle accelerator. There are also linear particle accelerators but Tony didn't build that. We take a set of atomic and or sub atomic particles. We accelerate them around the circular track at nearly the speed of light.
Then we take a second set of atomic and or sub atomic particles and accelerate them in the opposite direction. They will collide with the first set, smashing more protons into the resulting new particle. Think of it like a multi-car pile up where cars lock together becoming one big new entity (element). Tony's 'Laser' was technically a particle accelerator beam containing that new element.
Tony's dad Anthony was the genius who figured out the theoretical new particle, he just did not have access the the technology needed to make it happen. Tony did have access to the tech and just followed Dad's blueprints.
*Breaking Bad Fun Fact Tie in:* Marius Stan (the actor who played Bogdan Wolynetz) is currently a senior scientist at the Applied Materials division at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, Illinois. The Argonne National Laboratory also contains The Argonne Wakefield Accelerator (AWA) Facility. The AWA Facility carries out research to enable the next generation of particle accelerators.

@@dunringill1747 Okay, fair enough, just going to do a quick rundown on issues with it, The Incredible Hulk imo is a boring movie, it's biggest issue however is that you can remove it from an MCU marathon and you wouldn't feel like you missed anything at all, it's the loosest thread to the MCU compared to the rest, much due to the actor change.
Also to note, after creating the new element, he tried patenting it under the name Badassium, but for obvious reasons, that didn't fly. XD
The best part of how excited they are for these early movies is knowing that these early movies are like a lightbulb to the Sun of the later movies. Their minds will be blown into tomorrow.

I only watched the MCU movies last summer; I had gotten so far behind that I decided to wait. I told my daughter I'd watch them after she finished her freshman year of college, so that's what we did. :)

Some people don't like this one and rate it low on the list of Marvel movies... I don't get it. I think it's great, almost as good as the first one. A really solid sequel that expands on the first and adds new stuff and does it well

Don’t feel bad about not knowing who The Guardians of the Galaxy are, because before the film premiered practically no one knew who they were! The only one’s who knew about “The Guardians” before the film came out were the most hardcore comic book fans! :)

I just found out that I’m positive for Covid today. Seeing y’all’s reaction to this movie definitely brightened my day. Great reaction. I love the iron man movies the most. Love me some RDJ too! The marvel movies just keep getting better with each one.

For a long time fan of Marvel and knowing all about the comic versions of it all, it's so refreshing to see a fresh set of eyes on what basically are just good fun action movies. Steve, the story at the base of these movies came out in a massive Marvel comics crossover event when I was collecting, way back at age 15.
I can honestly say, as a long time comic fan, that the films do perfect justice in translating one of my all time favorite storylines from the comic page to the screen.

Ivan Vanko was his name. As for "The Avengers" - think Justice League or for those that lived through the 1970's and 1980's Saturday Mornings era, the Super Friends... And one quick tip, don't forget to watch credits all the way to the end in EVERY movie! Some have mid-credit scenes, some have end-credit scenes, and some have both!
The laser was actually a particle Excelerator that Tony built in his basement.
I'm so excited for y'all to get further in this, you have a lot of fun coming your way.

Did you notice how graceful she was in combat?
In the comic books, she was introduced as a spy who posed as a ballerina. The character is a genuinely talented ballet dancer. As a comic book reader, I always wondered what her fighting style would look like, since you expect a ballet dancer who can fight to look very different.
What the fight choreographers and stunt double came up with was better than anything I could have ever imagined.
One thing you guys didn't pick up on is that at this point, she is an agent of SHIELD, in the same organization as Phil Coulson and Nick Fury (Sam Jackson). Remember the guys who helped Pepper in the first movie? She's with that organization. You'll see more of SHIELD as these movies go along.
To explain SHIELD vs SWORD (coming soon to the MCU):
Imagine an imaginary border at a certain altitude above Earth in low orbit making a spherical shell all the way around the globe. Everything below that border is the responsibility of SHIELD, everything outside of that border is the responsibility of SWORD.
"Where's Peppermint Potts?" There is a deleted scene where she was in the cargo plane with him before he made the jump to the Stark Expo.
Steve needs to expand his scale of movie greatness from 10 to 20 for this movie series alone. Just saying. Not that Iron Man wasn't a great movie. But boy... I'm so excited for him, knowing what else is coming and how much fun he's had with these phase 1 movies.
And Phase 1 is arguably the weakest of the bunch.
To be fair, Hammer's "ex-wife" is supposed to be launched at super sonic speed, so it couldn't possibly do anything at 15 meters range. Rhody should have known that though, he's an airforce pilot ... They are pretty lucky it didn't go off, cause they all would have been killed. You could even say it was purposefully not armed at such a low distance to the operator.

Was a fan since we were both very young, and I'm very proud of his recovery & come-back. Mickey Rourke, too. And, the rest of the series is mind-blowingly good, so there is that, too. 😊🌺🏝️❤️
Hard to believe that little boy, in the Iron Man helmet, was *supposed* to be really young Peter Parker.
(At 11:07) two things that clearly don't go together that are probably deadly: Tony Stark and Alcohol.
This was as close as Disney was going to let Marvel do the demon in a bottle story arc.
That kid wearing an ironman helmet that Tony saves, he becomes a VERY important character later on!
In the comics he's call Whiplash. I don't remember if he was call that in the movie.

I don't think I ever saw Iron Man 2, I watched the first one though! Also apart from the first spiderman and Hulk! I haven't seen any other 'avengers' movie!
You guys should check out a Marvel One-Shot called something like "A funny thing happened on the way to Thor's hammer" before watching Thor (or after is good too, but better before). It should be on CZcams.

I feel like a better title for this series is "MCU Movie" rather than "Marvel Movie" because currently you're watching through movies of the MCU, whereas "Marvel Movie" encompasses every movie that features Marvel characters.
There are fans who love all Marvel. There are fans who only love MCU movies. I think calling it Marvel Movie will reach more viewers

They are clearly targetting a wider audience rather than just MCU fans. Whether they react to other Marvel movies it doesn't matter, they just want all viewers to watch these reactions.
Not all Marvel movies are of the MCU. But all MCU movies are of Marvel. Besides, who knows if they'll try getting in on the rest of the shows in the future.
@@ant-man9018 I'm suggesting it more as a consistency thing, like with playlists. It would make more sense to include all the MCU movies in one playlist and title them MCU, and include other Marvel movies like the X-Men universe in another playlist. Again, this is a very minor suggestion, so it really doesn't matter in the end, but I think it'd be better organized that way.

Natalies character is "Black Widdow" the best russian spy ever created. Natasha Romanov is her real name so yes, she is russian. The avengers initiative, is the best crossover ever. All the different heroes of the mcu comming together to fight a major threat. And i cant whait to see you 22 movies later in the big "endgame" you will be excited, you will laugh, you will cry and you will cheer. Looking forward to it.
I've seen reactors constantly ask why Pepper and Happy didn't get out the car. Here's why
As we see when Pepper screamed oh god out of fear. This was caused. By a piece of the car falling down from the top and blocking that way.
And they wouldn't get out the other way. Because that's where the electrical ribbon man is.
Such an honest response to see Scarlett Johansson in her agent suit ripping through those men and saying, "I want to see HER movie." Me too! Marvel should have delivered a Black Widow movie back then if it was possible. Seems like an injustice to get her own movie only now.
As for making a new element with a laser ... of course it's comic book logic, but presumably the triangle was made of a specific alloy, and the particle beam caused a breakdown and recombination of the nuclei, forming a new element. A comic book version of how they really make new elements.

I'm a little late but I just wanna point out - the Ex-Wife joke was funny, but it broke because Rhodes/War Machine didn't pay attention in Hammer's sales pitch. It's designed to be shot at high speeds at an armoured target, so it has enough energy to punch through and detonate inside. So shooting it from basically-stationary instead of the supersonic speeds we know the Iron Man suits can manage from the last film, is why it failed to do anything.
Remember that "If you can make God bleed" line. It becomes important again in the third Avengers movie.
If you just watch the movies in order you won't miss anything. It will be the greatest series ever put to the big or small screen.

Ivan Vanko, done as the supervillain Whiplash (it was two other guys in the comics) have a steel exoskeleton down his legs as well protecting him from the car. Nathalie is really Natasha Romanov, the Black Widow (as her belt buckle shows) soon to have her own movie once the pandemic dies down...

That's what set Marvel apart in the early 60s. They had their heroes cross over from one magazine to another, and even got together in groups. Now they're doing the same thing in movies.
