If I have the correct snowstorm, I rode my motorcycle to UT that morning, parked it on 26th St. just west of Speedway, and then the snow fell. I ate supper with a friend and fellow UT grad student who had a food contract at the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and we took some of the large family-style food service trays and sledded down the hill to the north of the dining hall. Don't recall where I slept that night or if I even got home, but the motorcycle sat until the snow melted.
I remember this. February of 1973 most of Texas got snow. My grandparents lived in Refugio near Corpus Christi and they got it as well. I grew up in Austin, but we lived in College Station at this time and got snow. I remembered it rained thw night before.
My parents and i gpt to Killeen in February of 1973 We just left West Germany and i thought my Dad was joking that we had Arrived in Texas..Everyone thought Texas never got snow...

When I was an undergraduate (early-mid 60s) it snowed at least once every year.
