Cass Scenic Railroad "The Bald Knob Train"

- On Saturday, October 3, 2009 Shays 4 and 5 teamed up together for a very rare appearance pushing the Bald Knob train up the mountain. We will follow the train from Back Mountain road to Bald Knob. Enjoy!

Love that Lunkenheimer 3 chimer on #4 probably my favorite at Cass. Especially when blown by Danny. Good double header, although I would have like to seen the hiesler...

Yeah, that would probably have to be my favorite whistle at Cass. Goes well with the 4 also.

@TNtrainboy15 Unfortunately no, it is not easy. The only places you can really catch the train is leaving the depot, and the two grade crossings. You can also watch the train going around Gum Curve (2nd scene) from the roadway but it is a fair distance away. Most locations on this video were taken from either private property or by way of the track speeder. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
@shayfan Thanks. I may just catch it at the first crossing and arriving at the depot for any sort of runby-type footage.

@tropicalfishswim Not very often in the summer months, however on Saturday in late September and October you can usually see them.
Mower Shays reunite!
Two weekends ago, i saw a reunion of both of my favorite Cass Shays (2 and 4) on the Bald Knob train. That was something I hadn't seen since riding them in 1999.
I'll be going to Cass this summer, did you have to make a special arrangement with the railroad for the speeder?
Nice vid! Is it fairly easy to chase the train to Bald Knob or Whittaker, as I am planning on going to Cass for 1 or 2 days this summer.

man there are alot of cars on this train.....i was in the car closest to the engine
