Magnificent. Exactly as Brahms would want - every note an awakening through this gifted artist, conductor, and orchestra.

Arabella is brilliant! She makes it look so easy and natural! Beautiful music well-crafted by all those gifted orchestral musicians!

I found Ms. Stienbacher by accident!!! Saw her perform with Akiko Suwani and was overwhelmed by her playing. Bravo!!
Outstanding! Ms Steinbacher has the genius to make that instrument sing in its own voice - a very womanly skill & deference. And not forgetting Brahms. I guessed it was a Guernari. Seems it was a Strad. Secret in that ancient Italian varnish? As in the tones, secrets magnificently distributed & shared!

This is one of the best renditions of this beautiful, but difficult concerto I've ever heard! Ms. Steinbacher is a supreme artist and is clearly in her element playing this titanic work. It really does not get better than this.
@@leonardoiglesias2394 I’ve heard them all over the past 50 years. My favorites are those by Heifetz, Milstein, Oistrakh, and Stern.
You really dont hear they are completely off at the end….? Can you read music….?
Ok, listen…after minute 43:22…they are several times absolutely OFF….you can maybe SEE that Mrs Steinbacher looks a bit stressed…and it happens again a couple of bars later…

@@leonardoiglesias2394 So the orchestra screwed up, but she didn’t. So what! It’s still one of the best Brahms Concertos I’ve ever heard.
@@alexsaldarriaga8318 rendition means the whole thing. Brahms wrote this piece almost as a symphony. It is not a Wieniawski or Paganini concerto. It cannot be a good rendition of the piece if the orchestra screws up….
I recently saw her play this concerto in Dallas last Friday, and she really blew me away.
One of my favourite violinists. Simply mind-blowingly talented and elegant.
To me, Arabella Steinbacher is a real expert in Brahms concerto, I love her interpretation.
What you can't appreciate on recordings is what an enormous and rich sound she has live. I heard her play Sibelius a few years ago,and she really reminded me of some of the great old Russians. Just look how much bow she uses and how quickly her right hand goes back and forth accross the strings. A bit like Oistrakh. I wonder who her favorite violinist is...Anyhow, I think she's great.
Maybe you could shut up….because you dont have the slightest idea about violin playing….

Glorious. Ms. Steinbacher is fast becoming one of my favorite violinists with performances like this. Her interpretation of the Tchaikovsky concerto is phenomenal as well.

This violinist plays Brahms like it should be. So beautiful playing. I can't believe I have never heard of her before. Her tone is so profound, artistic, yet she isn't old at all. I wonder where she comes from. Some violinist is all technic. This girl is all art.

Being a machinist i would really like ti see what and others would actually be able produce in what we call "repeat" when she moves to play particular note how close is she to the previous position for the same note? I'm guessing it's under. 001 of an inch. Around. 0002-.0004. World really like to see that studied!

La precision sobrehumana de la orquesta es realmente unica.
Especialmente la del oboe. Arabella Steinbacher debe haber sentido un placer indescriptible de sentirse acompañada por una orquesta de este nivel astronomico. Y despues hablan de la Filarmonica de Berlin! Esta debe ser de las 2 mejores orquestas del mundo. Esta y la sinfonica de Kabul. Walter Weller, un Lorin Maazel reencarnado.

It's very, very nice but Nigel Kennedy can play it more slowly than this.... That climb to a high "e" at 19:53 is pretty breathtaking - similar to Cecylia Arzewski's.
