    This Interpretation is a divine revelation for me. Such a musical authentic performance I could hear until now only in my inner ears. No other violonist and also no other conductor, even Furtwängler with Menuhin, do justice to this divine music as the musicians in this performance. This is really the most authentic, the most articulatted performance from the very many performances I have ever heared in the last 45 Years.

      Malheureusement des cadences rédhibitoires, hideuses, sont jouées dans les concertos de Beethoven et de Mendelssohn, surtout celle de Fritz Kreisler dans le concerto de Beethoven : comment se fait-il que les solistes n'ont pas conscience qu'ils enlaidissent l'oeuvre en étant censés montrer leur virtuosité ?

    Magnifically filmed, I love how she is playing eyes closed and how we can see her fingers play at critical moments. No exageration of attitude like so many soloist with a god complex. Just pure, clean music with a wonderful sound. I just wish the darn ytub wouldnt cut with an ad every 5 minutes, I guess that's what I get for not paying... Worth comparing with her mentor, Anne Sophie Mutter, who has a very different style, both beautiful. I'd say if you look for that tzigane violin sound, Mutter might be what you prefer, but Steinbacher is absolutely wonderful in the cadenzas especially the 3rd one, even with the broken horsehair on her bow around 46:00.

    Une artiste et musicienne confirmée, elle joue sur un instrument merveilleux et la prise de son la met ici encore plus en valeur par une juste balance entre elle et l'orchestre très bien dirigé. Dommage que David Oïstrach, Nathan Milstein, Jacha Heifetz pour ne citer qu'eux ne sont plus de ce monde car je suis persuadé qu'unanimement ils auraient déclaré que la relève était assurée ! A considérer qu'il s'agit d'une jeune personne, on ne peut que lui souhaiter un brillant avenir. Quant à dire qu'elle va encore s'améliorer avec l'âge...elle a déjà atteint un tel niveau qu'il est difficile de le surpasser. Si le concerto de Beethoven lui sied à ravir, il ne faut pas oublier les autres grands concertos qu'elle a à son répertoire et qu'elle interprète avec la même maîtrise ! Si ses parents et son (ses?) professeur(s) vivent encore, on peut imaginer leur fierté toute légitime. Bravo Arabella !

    • @claudedarmstadter7774
      @claudedarmstadter7774 Před 4 lety +1

      Très beau compliment, éclairé de surcroît, même si a été oubliée l'interprétation de Christian Ferras, qui peut être considérée comme la meilleure de toutes.
      Mais qui, enfin, osera protester contre ces cadences rédhibitoires dans les concertos pour violon de Beethoven (où celle de Fritz Kreisler est la plus laide et la plus souvent adoptée !), Mendelssohn et Tchaïkowski ? Il s'agit d'une coutume D'UN AUTRE AGE, au nom de laquelle le compositeur laissait un blanc pour que le soliste "montre sa virtuosité". Celui-ci n'a-t-il donc aucune conscience de l'enlaidissement dont il se fait complice ? Et il faut penser aux profanes néanmoins mélomanes qui, entendant ces grincements insupportables durant quelque trois minutes et demie, croient sincèrement que c'est du Beethoven, du Mendelssohn ou du Tchaïkowski !

    Whenever I appreciate this great work, calm, peace, and indomitable spirits of Beethoven shall be with me. In 1792 year around, Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770-1827) was musical metropolis of Europe. At time he was associating with well to do friends who supported him both materially and morally. This violin concerto, the only one he wrote was completed in conjunction with his deafness i.e. depicting his indefatigable sprits. For this reason we would like to hear to overcome hardships like pandemics, diseases, and warlike atmosphere etc...

It's such a joy to love your profession and they surely do. They are an example to us who may not know where middle C is on the piano to practice our calling as they do theirs. In our own way, we can bring harmony and joy to the world.

    The Violin Concerto is one of my favourite Beethoven's compositions, and Arabella is one of the great virtuoses of violin.

    Brilliant rendition of Mme Steinbacher. Very crisp and well defined. A Bravo piece.
