- Gualaceo is a great day trip from Cuenca Ecuador. Here's a compilation of the best Ecuadorian food to eat there.
I always stay at the CASA CUENCANA. It's affordable, Ecuadorian owned and so clean and comfortable.

Hi I'm Ayngelina and my full time job is my site BaconisMagic.ca it's all about the best food around the world and how to make it at home.
In 2010 I left a job in advertising, 5 year relationship and sold all my possessions to travel the world. In the last ten years I've had some crazy experiences and even owned a restaurant in Toronto at one time. And prior to 2020 I had been based in Cuba.
When the world shut down I returned to Canada and decided to teach myself video. I wanted to share more than just words and photos but to show people the adventures I have learning about food around the world.
I'm not married. I have no kids. But I do have a lot of local friends who help me discover the best local tips.

papas con cuero means potatoes with skin pork cooked together... not tripes. I really miss a lot Ecuadorian food.. I live in Canada and I'm from Cuenca originally. I will go back soon for few months and I will do a feast of food.. Good channel :)
Oh you're right it wasn't tripa, I'm not sure what I said that! Thanks for the reminder.
Gualaceo un lugar súper lindo y tranquilo
Me encántalo
People that dont eat meat really miss out. I love the taste over charcoal . Mmmm Delicious ~ Rosero mmm.. Very good drone footage at the end ❤
Another great video thanks Ayngelina 🤗
You are so sweet, it’s all my pleasure.
We had hornado and tortilla de choclo at the market in Gualaceo today. It was worth the trip from Guayaquil (and Cuenca)
Ooh that makes me so happy. And did you try the cuy there? I have a video and by far it’s the best around.
Another of your videos where I almost bang my head on the screen trying to get to all that amazing looking food! Especially that Cuy!
Come on over and get it!
@@ayngelina I am (sort of, lol)! I visited Cuenca in April, and loved it so much I'm headed to Manta in early December. I can't wait to see what the coast looks like. I'll be referring to your Manta food vids to help prepare. 😁
Such good seafood. I don't know Manta well but hoping to head back in November for a second look.
Me encanta tus videos , soy de Cuenca mis papás tienes una casa cerca de gualaceo, estuve allá en marzo me falto tiempo pero
Me encantó

Delicius Angelyne🥰👍👏🇪🇨
Thanks so much Vito 🙂
Hit the nail on the head with the sancocho vs fritada difference. A huge pet peeve of mine is when I order fritada at a restaurant and they serve me sancocho instead 🤦♂️
I love sancocho, but I would be upset too!
To me, cuy reminds me of the taste of squirrel. Since they're both rodents that shouldn't be too surprising. My father hunted many types of critters, squirrel was my least favorite.
Papas con cuero, in my experience, is made with pork skin, not tripe.
Interesting video about a lovely smallish town, thanks for sharing.
Monte you're right it is skin, I'm not sure why I called it tripe as that would have been tripa.
Rodento'
Could you please, let us know in what specifially spot in Gualaceo we can find this stunning places?
The description includes all of the spots and if you need someone to show you around Andres is a national guide and his WhatsApp is in the description as well.
Yummy
So so good!
@@ayngelina make me hungry 👍
You're under arrest for broadcasting food porn! I literally drooled on my laptop. Thank god I missed the keypad!
You win comment of the day, thank you so much!
...she said, llapingacho.
Was cuy soft or did u bite it hard?
The skin is crispy but inside is soft.
@@ayngelina oh so it means u had to bit it lil hard
No it was ok, not too bad
Cuy y tripa mishqui no me gustan Pero hornada papas etc si 🖐️🌹
Siempre hay algo que amar en Ecuador
Better than eating dogs, but close.
Similar to eating rabbit.
Looks like letchon
Very similiar, but put on the spit differently.
@@ayngelina I miss cebu letchon. I been trying to get to Ecuador but work is too much on me. I took on one more job. I will be in Lithuania in 3 weeks . Visit family and try to get them to the states pick up a Ukrainian squad train them in the field in the Ukraine. Then fly home put my belongings in storage then head to Ecuador. Then sleep for 2 weeks
Good idea. But you are the light at the end of the tunnel. In January I hope to go back to the Philippines.
...lechón asado. 😊
I would not eat cuy and I'm Ecuadorian...Is eaten in the Andes not in the coast...
Yes that's where Gualaceo is :)
