Your comment is precisely my sentiment on my situation. I lost my senior black lab a year and a half ago when I came home from work and found her dead. I knew the second she didn't joyfully greet me at the door that she was gone. After searching the house I found her wedged into a tight spot in the bathroom, she never went into that room. I still can't get that image out of my mind. I haven't been able to bring myself to allow another dog into my life yet although I know I will. When I do it will be a rescue, of course, and an older dog. I love the tranquility they radiate and the wisdom they have. My dig taught me more about patience and humanity than my parents ever did or any other person. They truly are sent to us from God himself.
I have mixed feelings when someone gets another pet immediately after the first one dies. It somehow feels like the new pet is a _replacement_ for the old one. Especially when the owner goes out of their way to buy the exact same breed only a month or two after. I understand their position, and I'm sure I'll do the same thing. Its inevitable when your furry companion only lives 1/5th as long as you. Buts its still sad. We aren't so quick to replace deceased family or loved ones.
People who've never owned a dog sometimes don't understand how genuine a dogs love is. True and unconditional. They become part of the family and when they die it's like losing a child. He seems like he/they are going to give this new pup a great life and a loving home💕🐕
Sorry, but losing a dog is not anything close to losing a child. Its terribly sad to lose a dog, but as someone who has lost both, losing a child is so, so, so much worse.

Men who cry are ridiculed and made fun of. Even the man in this video covered his face the whole time, in an attempt to hide his tears.

I don't think they meant that since they paid a lot of money for the dog that she wasn't able to get a wedding dress, just that they "lied" to him by saying that they were out to go buy a wedding dress, but really getting the puppy.

As someone who has lost two dogs, at different times, after caring for them for over ten years. I can say getting a new dog, or pet, can certainly help, but can also be difficult. It can remind you of the heartbreak you felt, and the potential heartbreak in the future. It's still worth it. Dog's are awesome!

My mum never wanted a dog and would get mad when I demanded one, and when I finally bought one after few days of anger she finally accepted him, and he would never leave my mum alone never eat without my mum and when he died my mum cried for 2 weeks straight and mourned him more than any phone she said " I lost a child to whom I didn't give birth but he was more a child for me than you are". They become our family and they leave a hole which cannot be filled.

The dogs I have owned have literally saved my life. The pain of owning a dog is that they do not live long enough. Being with your dog at the end is heartbreaking, and I am most certainly not ashamed to say that I broke my heart crying when everyone single one left. This man's family clearly understand his love of dogs. A lovely emotional clip to watch.

These videos always touch my heart in the purest of ways. His genuine reaction was so beautiful. I love to see someone be so overwhelmed by a gesture that they can't contain themselves, it's so sweet. It's always difficult to heal from the loss of a pet, they hit a special place in the heart that some can't understand. My father fought in 5 major battles and was a tough guy. The only time I ever saw him cry was when his dog Died.
