  • This month, we're celebrating two years of owning our 2017 Tiffin Breeze 31BR. And we've gotten quite a few questions lately from folks asking how it's working out for us. Since our last review of our coach was a year ago, we thought we'd give you an update on what we like about our Breeze, what we'd like to change and if we would buy a Breeze again.
    #tiffinbreeze #tiffinmotorhomes #smalldieselpusher
    Our Tiffin Breeze is a small Class A diesel pusher motorhome. We live, work and travel in it full-time. Over the past year, we traveled to 13 states in it. We camped in National Parks, State Parks, City Parks, County Parks, RV Parks and parking lots. We dry camped, camped with full hookups and everything in between. We travel with our 85 pound dog, and last summer Grammy K joined us for about 2.5 months. So we also experienced what its like to live in a small diesel pusher like our Breeze with 3 adults and a big dog!

    Howdy Y'all ☕! This is not so much a comment on the segment as it is a business suggestion. With so many potential RV buyers now turning to CZcams and more so full-time YT RVers for real world use, practicality and function based research prior to purchase. I've noticed more and more manufactures are getting onboard with brand ambassadors demo representatives to showcase their products. In my opinion, y'all have been preforming this service and should looking into a sponsorship of sorts because y'all are truly a great source of information on the subject and product.

    Love 💕 your laugh Stacie! My the weeks fly by quickly when you are in self-quarantine lock-up! Looking forward to the next year of travel with y’all! But I do have to mention that in several videos in the past year you mentioned the lack or restrictions with space. Broke my heart to see those golf clubs walk. @rvamericayall  Pƙed 4 lety +1

      LOL Thanks Jim! One thing living in a space this size will teach you is to make tough choices when it comes to your stuff. But, using the golf clubs as an example... we honestly hadn't used them in years, so there wasn't a whole lot of reason for us to carry them around just on the chance that we might eventually play. If we used them, it would have been different. And maybe one of these days will pick up another set somewhere along the way. đŸŒïžâ€â™€ïž 🏌

    That's great y'all from what I've seen from the video have had a great time.my coach had lead acid battery I wanted to go to lithium but my coach system has a pictalur system that doesn't support lithium so I put 4 agm battery in.so check your system to make sure you can put lithium in

  • @laurenkeon3267
    @laurenkeon3267 Pƙed 4 lety +2

    Question: if u DO convert to Lithium, how is that done without doing any harm to the coach? And does that affect your warranty negatively? I’m asking cause I love the Breeze. Have spent 2 years researching them but I so want Lithium, even tho the price is crazy high. Just don’t know how I’d go about finding reliable technician. I so remember seeing the CZcams about your rig that was for sale BEFORE you bought it. And the incredible great care that rig had been given by previous owner. You found a gem for sure. Enjoy watching both of you. And this 2nd year review just helped cement my decision about the coach I will buy.......one more year b4 retiring. Then I’m gettin outta Dodge!

    • @rvamericayall
      @rvamericayall  Pƙed 4 lety +1

      We really do LOVE our Breeze, Lauren. We feel like it's the perfect RV for us. As far as converting to Lithium batteries... in talking with folks who have made the change it's simply a matter of making sure the batteries are connected correctly and that your charge controller can be adjusted to lithium vs lead acid or agm. If we put in a new charge controller, inverter or other parts as part of the change, those parts would typically come with their own warranties. And just to clarify, we're very happy with the agm batteries on the chassis. When we're talking lithium, we're specifically talking about our house batteries.

    We have a 2019 Tiffin Red 37pa. We visited the Tiffin factory a couple 0f weeks ago. Due to the virus they limited the number of techs and bays and only 10 items to be worked on and didn’t allow customers in the work area. Of those 10 items 4 of them were not resolved to our satisfaction. Since then Tiffin has resumed production and expanded service so we are heading back this Friday to get all the items addressed. Probably the virus concerns is affecting their service quality. We are considering lithium batteries also. On our coach the Spyder system monitors the chassis and house batteries and depending on the conditions will activate the solenoid to merge the batteries. Not sure how you year Breeze does this but Spyder has that information on their website for your particular coach. We are considering LifeBlue lithiums because they offer 200ah batteries with built in heating units. The price of one of these batteries is the same as two Battleborn 100ah batteries. The Lifeblue form factor also allows us to fit two of the 200ah batteries in our slide out tray without modification other than straps and there is room for three 200 ah batteries. They even offer a 300ah battery which two would fit. We hope to get 1000w of solar and lithiums installed in October. Looks like the new Breezes use the Cummins 340 with Allison 2500 transmission but still a 5000lb tow capacity. Our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S with hard top package and two kayaks on the roof and two electric folding bikes in the back weighs 4620lbs according to the CAT scale but our Red has a Cummins 360 and Allison 3000 transmission. Our 37pa handles the hills adequately but speed bleeds off fast and when we get down to 45mph the transmission shifts to 3rd gear and seems to maintain the coach speed at 45 going up 6%-7% grades. Mileage is about 9.5 mpg with the Jeep and about 10.5mph solo traveling 60 mph and mostly with cruise on. With the 100 gal fuel tank a crushing range of 700 miles with adequate reserve is possible. We like our floorplan a lot and when we get these issues resolved, none of which prevent us from using it, we will like it more. The 39’ length means we’ll never be able to get into Many Glacier campground in Glacier NP again unless were are super lucky to get one of the few sites that are long enough but it means more comfortable living in these difficult times. The size of our coach wasn’t to hard of a transition from towing a 25’ Airstream trailer but the height of the coach was 3 ft higher so driving around trees is stressful at first. When a low hanging branch hits the flexible radio antenna on the roof it sounds like the roof is being torn off. Leveling the coach was much harder than our Airstream trailer despite the auto leveling jacks. The long wheelbase means its harder to find level enough sites sometimes but using a Level Mate Pro device I can now determine the inches off level and determine more easily if I need to run an axle up on blocks before extending the jacks. Hopefully, the economy will open up soon so this country can get back to normal soon. I’m more worried about the “cure” than the virus that could end our RV lifestyle. Good luck.

      @rvamericayall  Pƙed 4 lety

      We really like the Tiffin Reds. Glad to hear that you are happy with yours and hope you can get those few issues resolved when you get back to Red Bay (we're sure that won't be a problem with everything functioning again). Thanks for the info on the Lifeblue batteries. We hadn't looked at those yet. Will check them out. We appreciate you sharing your experience with your Red. It's good info for folks who are shopping. Hope we can all get back to exploring again soon! Take care!

However , we've heard that there have been problems with the Cummins 5.0 liter V8 engine, and they don't even make this engine anymore, so we wouldn't able to get parts if it broke down. Can you give me your thoughts on this? Would we need to replace the engine with something else and about how much would that cost? Also what is the gas mileage that you get?

      Actually, the size of the Breeze is an advantage over the New Aire and other Class A motorhomes. Being shorter in length, shorter in height and more narrow made it more easy to maneuver and allowed it to fit into a larger number of campsites.
