Shorts and tee almost all year round. If it gets down to about minus 5 °C I might consider a hoodie or something similar... Most people tell me that I am mental, I say: it's a mental thing
I always start out cold in W/S/A but after 30 mins often still regret wearing too much. I keep a padded gilet and a light waterproof in the backpack in case I have to stop to fix something - or push it home. I often stall in or need to wade deeper mud/water, so fleece lined wellies and ski socks do the tootsies a treat in winter 👍 I don't care what others think I look like - they are strangers and I enjoy being comfortable 😊
In early-spring/late-fall, I like to wear normal mtb clothing but with (long sleeve shirt and trousers) with a lumberjack-type jacket (those red and black ones. It enables you to move a lot while being warm and very protective
New biker here. I find dickies canvas shorts are great as I already had them. Solid canvas for protection, breathable in the summer and nice and loose for movement. I have an old cheap windbreaker for the grey days which works great so far. But I want to invest in something a bit more specific for top half as it gets warmer. I hated sweaty t-shirts last year.
Great video, I definitely think mountain biking clothes are the most underrated cycle accessory. They are designed to keep you comfortable :). Like you say a cotton t-shirt is fine but you do definitely get too hot and sweaty in them and it just clings to your body 😂
I live in central Colorado. There’s not a lot of winter mountain biking to be done here. In the summer time you just have to accept getting wet. It will rain for 30min to an hour around 3pm and then go back to being sunny.
Ordered a Nukeproof Nirvana for about 77,50€ a few days ago, since I really needed a very light but weather proof jacket. I get really hot even from just walking, even in winter, so I rather have some light weather proof outer layer and then layer up beneath for needed insulation with regular clothes, if necessary.
Great content as always Rich...👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾...Best GMBN presenter...end of...👍🏾 There should be a yearly vote for best presenter award to keep you lot on your toes, I'm sure you would win it Rich..😉
I pretty much only wear long sleeve dri-fit tops and dri-fit shorts is FL. When it's almost always in the 90s plus you got stay cool but also protected from the sun and those pesky summertime mosquitoes.
Rain , Hail or Shine. Fox shorts or Fox Long pants, mates bikeshop tshirt/Steel City Cycles, Fox gloves, 5 10 Hightop shoes, Santa Cruz socks, helmet. Simple.
Can you please make a similar video on body protection. I am looking for a back/chest protector for bikepark visits but I am confused about the many different types from padded tops to full stormtrooper armor. What should I look for?
Would wear a long sport pants to reduce injury not even from wearing I got more injury from the sharp points from the bike itself than actually crashing or falling of my bike
gmbn please take a video about game of bike with all of the presenters not only doddy blake and neil, bring everyone please this will be so much fun please and love from georgia (country not state )
In winter -20, summer +25. I find winter the easiest as I can fit all my guards under coat and pants. But in summer you are running too hot with torso protection, elbow pads, knee pads, shin pads and fullface. Am I the only one wearing protection?
The winter jacket ur wearing what’s the name brand. I’ve been looking for a jacket like that for this winters season rising. Some of ur other videos have the same jacket in it and it look crazy warm
Everything functions properly czcams.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Nothing was damaged in the box aside from a decal on the fork. The decal was missing a piece of a corner but I ended up peeling them off anyways. Assembly is easy BUT make sure you tune up the derailleurs. Both the front and rear need adjusting. I'd advise going to a bike shop but I opted out and put in 10+ hours with the help of CZcams. Ended up fraying a shifter cable but all in all I learned from the experience. The Brakes work well but the front caliper needs adjusting or at least mine did because the rotor was rubbing against the pads. Make sure you swap out the seat, grips, and pedals. For the short run you'll be fine though. I've read that this bike isn't built yet for hard trails but I just need it for the city. PA has some of the worst roads and being in a mountain this was a great choice. Worth the investment!
i like cotton on me upper body but not plastic, on the lower body it's the other way round. so tshirt and downhill shorts. when it's cold hoody and under the shorts some thermo undwear. bibs never, uncomfortable af, way worse than all butt pain in the world.
So tos vestiments in the #GMBN tecnicals guy ride. Rich for to. We'll how is to confort for thes session's in #Moutainbike a motivation in to #Moutainbiking. Saluds of chile 🇨🇱
@@gmbn Thanks a bunch! Was just really unsure if I wanted to go commando with baggies(that have chamis) hahaha Guess it doesn't really make a difference on the saddle!
Oh dear this content is rather hollow, "if you ride clip pedals then a clip pedal shoe is the way to go forwards for you" Wow great insight there 🤔 maybe next you can do a video on how to tie shoe laces or a video on how to make your bike move forwards. Honestly people if you can't work out the temperature and weather outside and dress accordingly then maybe you are not fit to leave your house and should get a carer
Really didn't mention about not talking to strangers, common if you need telling what to put on don't forget get yer mom stitch your gloves to your sleeves and mickey mouse ear warmers .you are early for April 1st nice try.

I live in California, so its shorts year round and it almost never rains where I am. I had to wear a rain coat once on a ride. How is the UK?
I wear MTB specific shorts or pants (Fox Flexair) a t-shirt and 5/10s ... Hate when people dress like Lance Armstrong riding the Tour de France!
"There's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing" has to be the most British thing I've heard in a while
thats just an international wisdom. you can hear it in germany all the time.
Nature will not adapt to you.
You must therefore adapt to nature.
Improvise, adapt, overcome.
This is gonna be a good episode.

An extra headband under a beanie works wonders in winter.

Can't wear inappropriate clothing if you're naked!

Ski pants are great in Winter, with walking shoes, or golf waterproof trousers, just as good
I wear a Swoosh dri fit, top and shorts, dries quickly and comfortable too
I am an Old xc dog so Lycra all seasons long

Is it more acceptable to ride muddy trails over there? Here in Michigan someone’s bound to put a hit out on you.
They are muddy 9 months a year on this island.
