Ride in what's comfortable and don't be put off that you don't have the latest seasons FOX or Troy Lee matching Jersey and pants !!!!
Always gotta put that gmbn Jersey
Some type of synthetic material shirt that wicks, shorts with a liner that gives padding and keeps everything in place, trail Crank brother clipless shoes, wrap sunglass with trail lenses, helmet and gloves.
cargo pants and a shirt
I've been riding since '87 on flats. One of these days when I get a bit more advanced I'll look into a clipless pedal.
Cheap and cheerful for me, because most of it's going to get wrecked pretty quick anyway, cheaper to replace, except helmet of course, don't want to smash my melon.
When I started again about a year ago I was wearing Jeans, a hoodie and some street shoes. The only specific thing was my new helmet.
With time passing bye I invested in some Jerseys (O'Neal, Scott), proper trousers for summer, spring and winter rides (Endura), gloves for summer and winter (100%), a jacket for cold rainy days (Fox) and some shoes for flat padels (O'Neal). When I approached the first bike park I got some knee and shoulder pads (O'Neal). Just recently after some very muddy rides I bought some MTB glasses (Kapvoe, based on Blakes recomendation 😁).
My wife was mocking about this quite a bit, until she started jogging again, and got some new pants here, some shirts and a jacket there, a small hip bag, and and and 😉
I always buy last seasons stock or models. Especially when it comes to clothes. Buy my summer clothes coming into winter and buy winter clothes coming into summer. Always helps me get a good deal
Skate shoes, hoodie, 3/4 shorts and 'cheap' decent helmet (Giro Fixture MIPS) for me! Been wearing safety glasses too, great value option.
Fox proframe, fox goggles, fox jersey, TLD speed pads, etnies shoes and some general sport shorts
I wear a ful-face with 100% goggles, a motocross jersey, fox gloves. And the bike park I go to requires a full face and gloves
I’ve got the Helfare rival riding pants by Matt Jones, and honestly they’re so good. Great all day comfort, and plenty of room for those pads. Got a signed picture of him as well which was a welcome surprise
A helmet, dri-fit shirt, chino shorts, padded pants, half-finger gloves, glasses, flat pedal shoes, kneepads & waist pack, that's it for me; brand doesn't matter much.
My kit is a pair of overalls a t shirt or shorts and a t shirt. A open face pending on we’re I am riding or at a park is always a full face. Trail ride is glasses and dh is goggles
Asking as it’s practical and it’s fits
Trail helmet, knee pads, Oakley clear safety grade glasses, fox gloves and a speedo
I am primarily a road bike rider. I dress for a mountain bike ride the same way that I do a road bike ride. Thank you for saying that is cool.
Shorts and short sleeve jerseys. Along with some flat pedal shoes and an open faced helmet. I live in Kansas and starting in a couple of months, it's going to get hot. So I also have some Under Armour shirts to wear under the jersey. I have winter gear as well, including goggles. Right now I just use the goggles and a balaklava if I'm going to deal with wind in the winter.
Great video 😃 fiveten flats , POC helmet , fox kneepads and gloves , t-shirt and shorts GMBN and goggles 100% 😃😃 and socks o'neill
Oh timing, just thinking about investing in some riding trousers and some sort of over glasses goggles
Why disciplines other than XC not using tight lycra jerseys? Given how fast DH is, I'm curious why wouldn't they utilize this simple change for the aero gainz? Is it the culture or the rules?
Hi Rich! The GMBN jacket you are wearing in the video. Does the hood fit over a helmet?
When is gmbn going to offer a new tight lycra range for the XC rider, cant wait
Great information!
What sizes do your gmbn go up to? I find it difficult to get something in my size for starting out any
I have an XC bike, I ride it on trails/slight enduro and I wear downhill clothing without the upper body paddings. Is there something wrong with me?
what type of pants should i wear for dirt jumping
Since I wear glasses is there any other opstions instead of full on googles ?
I just use a full face on all the trails anymore. Seems like a better trade off.
I have a fox full face and some elbow pads. But as far as clothing goes i challenge you to find anything that fits a skinny 6'9" dude 😅🙈. So far i haven't found any jersey of trousers that fit 🤷♂️
I would add shin guards for beginners like myself. Learning to jump, having a foot slip off and rake your shins on the pins will let you know you should have put them on. (Voice of experience speaking).
Did that this past Sunday, wish I could share the picture, it is brutal. Had a set of 5Dev pedals go all the way up my shin and embed in my knee, my shin was a sheet of blood. Recommend shin pads! (mine are being delivered today!)
@@jamisonr I know how you feel. My left shin looks like the front of a Monster drink can.
I get all teary-eyed and emotional on the trail for reasons that have nothing to do with my glasses.
Gmbn jersy of course
Gloves should be next in line of importance after a helmet, your hands are the first thing you use to protect yourself in a bail.
Can you actually just use skiing goggles? I have a lot of those at home and they do seem to meet all the requirements of the mtb goggles
Is there a difference between the XC and road helmet? Looks about the same to me
XC riders generally use road helmets or “rebranded” road helmets. The trail helmets protect more of the back of the head and have a large visor.
mmmm.......i might just invest in a pair of knee pads...only becuase i'm a lot older & it just takes that wee bit longer to heal.
Kmalll mosam k lrhazz say gkassis use kryn majood 3no hn ap k pass brafbare k glag hr mosam k alag
I love cycling in jeans but my jeans dont like being cycled in. Especially how the inner thighs rubs the material away .
Is it ok if I just wear street shoes with good grip?
Absolutely
My 13 year old daughter races XC and some of the courses are gnarly. I insist (she doesn't have an issue) that she wears a trail helmet. I don't believe that xc race helmets offer enough protection.
anything that isnt bright colours and plastered with logos for me. mostly rock fasthouse stuff for that reason. i cant stand loud stuff, and pretty much only wear all black.
Just keep ya pip safe
just buy gmbn merch
Ignore Fox, Troy Lee Designs and other big brands and focus on smaller companies, like Commit Equip. Best quality gear i've ever bought.
Bought pants, shorts, tech tees, jerseys, socks and trailhoods and they are all utterly superb.
I open my wardrobe choose a t shirt and shorts , if it’s raining il out on a pack a Mac with the whole end be costing around 25 quid. It’s all you need don’t be fooled by expensive nonsense
Bib shorts under your clothes. Your behind will thank you.
It´s sickening to see all these "must haves" spurred on by social norms, sponsors and insurers. - What´s the deal with those stupid shorts anyways?! I would rather wear a full-on princess costume(!)
