    Just bought a Bissel Big Green machine and came to your video to learn how to use it properly. So helpful! Having toys and a big dog in the background lets your audience know it works on all the messes children and pets can make. Inspires confidence in the machine.

    Thank you a bunch for this video. Dispite my disagreement, I went ahead with two rounds of rinse water, like two full tanks, after I cleaned our bedroom and bathroom carpets with two sorts of cleaner. It was because you said that would remove the sticky cleansing solution, which it did do. More than that though, the water from both tanks was black with a bunch of dirt clumps in there; both tanks! I wouldn't have believed there was that much dirt in our carpet.
    So sincerely thank you for this video, and for emphasizing that we really should go two more rounds with just water to finish the cleansing process. It took a lot of time, but boy was it worth while. And that should also keep dirt from sticking to the left over sticky cleaning solution.

    After owning one of these for a couple years, I've learned a few things! The most important being to get one of those insecticide sprayers and pre-treat your entire carpet with whatever solution you're using, and let it sit a bit before using just hot water in the machine. I realized I could never get all the soap out when I put solution in the machine itself, and my carpet would be dirty again in no time! Thanks for the hose attachment information! I bought my machine on Prime Day also but I don't think the attachment came with it and I was curious what the holes were for!

    Excellent demo video!!!
    Sure wish I had rented that one or at least bought it for myself. We have thick carpet and we bought the pro heat 2X revolutionary pet Pro plus. It works fine it’s just we have thick carpet and if I make one forward pass and one back using the sprayer then I’ve gotta make 20 forward and backward passes before the carpets dry. It takes forever to do our carpet. It looks like this one that you have does a much faster job and for me that’s worth the extra money. Ours works fine but the model you have is the one we should have bought. I don’t mind paying the extra money if I can get the job done quicker. Thanks again for the video.

      @AroundTheHome1  Před 2 lety

    THANK YOU for the excellent tutorial. I own one of these and believe you covered it perfectly. I appreciate a thorough help video. One thing I didn't know, is to rinse your carpet. My god, I just have a mound of soap, with cat puke on top. Lol at least its pre treated. I'll start rising 🤣 Thank you for the info, my wife and I never knew. The 3 things I find annoying with this unit, is the waste tank is awkward and the seal I can see getting bent up. The hand tool is super awkward with the hard hose, the sprayer could use a better brush system. You cant get less than 2 inches from the wall. The wash tank is too opaque to see the waterline. Even with a flashlight it's close to impossible.

    Great video. There is about 6” of clear hose and a piece of plastic (with a rubber insert on it) connected to the clean tank cap. When i first saw it it looked like it had some type of functionality, but after reading the manual (with no mention of it), i assume its purpose is to simply keep the cap close to the tank so that it doesnt get lost? Similar to a lawn mower gas cap. It just seems to be over engineered for it purpose compared to other equipment ive used. Do you know what i mean and is that correct? Thanks

    The Bissell absolutely beats the Rug Doctor. Used it several times now, and would suggest a couple things.
    If doing a bigger area, roll a rag between the brush and its housing each time you change water. Really cuts down on the hairballs you mentioned.
    Also, I started making a last no spray pass to pull out more water, really drys faster.
    I think the Bissell branded cleaners work better. I used up some leftover rug doctor solution, just didn't seem as good in this machine as later times using the Bissell brand.
    My local Ace switched to Bissell and I was little hesitant to try it, but glad I did.
    Have a couple rental properties to clean so may buy one soon

    I laugh every time I clean my carpet now since my husband rented one of these and the instructions said pour two capfuls of formula into the tank. He did it but the cleaning wasn’t doing real well. I watched him the next tankful and found out why. He poured two capfulls from the formula bottle NOT the tank. I still love him though. Not a lot of husbands who work fulltime would clean carpets for a wife who doesn’t work anymore. I can honestly say I was lucky when I said yes to marrying him, though he claims HE is the lucky one. 40 years the end of February and still in love.

    Do not use as hot water as you can get it! It is know to break the that bubble flow guage on top that shows the water going through in use! I had to take my machine apart and replace it about 8 months ago! My machine is about 5 years old and has worked perfectly except for that! It's a cheap fix and there are videos on CZcams non how to fix it! It's possible that Bissell has replaced that low quality part by now! But I always use only slightly hot water now and it works just the same! Thank you for the video! I just forget sometimes how to use it even though it is so simple! Thank you!!!

      Ok, so officially I am telling you to use the Bissell carpet shampoo. Unofficially, I could suggest that hypothetically I might or might not allegedly use Mr. Clean multipurpose cleaner. And if I did use it, not saying that I do, I would use the same amount of soap as suggested by Bissel - using the line in the fill cup. I would also suggest that no matter what you use in the carpet cleaner to do a test spot first.

    Thanks for the video. On average, about how long does it take for the carpet to dry?

    • @AroundTheHome1
      @AroundTheHome1  Před 2 lety +1

      That really depends on how wet you get it, if you take time to slowly go over it at the end to get up as much water as you can, and the humidity of your home. For me, with a box fan down there, it's nearly dry overnight. But more like 24 hours for full dry.

    does this machine work on any residential carpet? whats the best solution for just shampooing no spots? do i have to worry about pressure?of course i dont want to damage the carpet?

    • @AroundTheHome1
      @AroundTheHome1  Před 3 lety

      Yes, it's designed for it. I have used it in my own home, which is where I am in the video, dozens of times. I haven't had any reason to feel that it would damage carpet. If you have a looped carpet like a berber, then make sure no loops are pulled. If so, cut them off so they don't snag. And I would just grab a bottle of regular carpet shampoo. Here is that Amazon link for the shampooer and it comes with 3 small bottles of soap. www.amazon.com/Bissell-Professional-Cleaner-Machine-86T3/dp/B00450U6CS?crid=1FH23NONOLG3Y&dchild=1&keywords=bissell+big+green+professional+carpet+cleaner&qid=1623419582&sprefix=bissell+big+green%2Caps%2C210&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyQU0xSzhYRzJXVEtDJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNDA4OTQ2MlQyQVRYSU5DV0VNJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAwODE4NjZQNEpETzhFU1ZFSEYmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=b291e3679fd2ba16c1fe901f722d6706&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

    What do you recommend if you’re cleaning carpet that your pet has had an “accident” on? Just the regular solution or add something else? Thanks 😊

    • @AroundTheHome1
      @AroundTheHome1  Před rokem +1

      Well, I tried a lot of different things on that as well. We have a little dog that went through a long faze of making accidents. I tried regular soaps, pet soaps, soaps specifically for urine that had a enzyme formula, and nothing worked. Don't use vinegar. For the love of God, please don't use that. I broke down finally because my mother in law uses it for everything and since no other soap was working I tried. If you Google it, Google says that vinegar does not harm carpet. That is soooooo wrong. The acids in vinegar will cause the glue to break loose and cause the carpet upper to separate from the backing. I even tried dumping a lot of baking soda in the carpet, vacuuming up most, then shampooing. Finally after this diarrhea I found that the bleach killed the urine smell as well. So, unfortunately bleach is the only thing that I have found that kills the urine all the way. Hope that helps.
