Unfortunately its not working anymore. The firmware downgrade final step is not detecting the printer to push the F/W

Emergency! Anyone know how to get the XP-6000 to go into recovery mode? The method of stop+left+home+power doesn't work and it's the only method I've seen.
I have the HP-6100 and had to do the stop+left+home+power combo over 50 times and it FINALLY went into recovery mode. The only thing I did differently was unplug the printer at the OUTLET, not just powering the printer on and off.

i tried to install my epson xp330 to my laptop. unfortunately it requested for and upgrade. I did that and uptill now my epson xp330 alway says that the cartridge is incorrectly installed what must i do?
Either spend $75 for Epson ink or buy a different printer. They bricked my printer with the update and I refuse to spend the amount I paid for the printer for new ink. I'm currently looking for a non-Epson printer. DONT EVER UPDATE the FIRMWARE!!!

I am having problem with Epson XP-640 since January also with the new firmware update. Now, i do not find the old firmware to perform a downgrade. My rechargeable cartridge was working fine until January 2020.
Can't downgrade the firmware on my XP-640. Epson wont allow a firmware change if it's older than the current one. Tried 3 different ones. It goes thru the motions but then displays the same new one from 2020. People going back to early '18 reported this. Tried the original empty cartridges. They won't work either as they're empty. Unless you changed them before being empty they won't work. Epson won't allow you to use the printer unless you have Epson carts that have some ink left in them.
Tried to print in MS Word and something happened with my XP-640 where it would only print to the photo tray. The Update Firmware is displayed on the printer all the time so figured what could it hurt, maybe that's the problem. WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! it Bricked my printer. Can't use it unless I use Epson ink. Can't use the scanner either.
It appears since the printer is connected to the internet, it reports to them you're using non-Epson carts then they start harassing you with the update the firmware messages. If you bite, they brick your printer so you can't use anything but Epson carts. Some clever lawyer needs to do a class action lawsuit on this. It's illegal for them to force you to use their carts then disable your printer if you don't!! There was no warning this would happen.

2020 UPDATE FOR XP640 USE STOP + LEFT + DOWN + POWER FOR RECOVERY MODE

Totally was getting the same results when I did the downgrade up until I stumbled on the foolowing:::First you need to go into special firmware update menu (20 second power button and right upper screen press). Use the EPSON firmware updater. Allow the firmware to update. As the power LED is blinking REMOVE power. Then return power... The printer will go into a "recovery mode". I reuploaded the firmware and then it downgraded!!!
NOTE: I had to try/do this a total of 3 times to work.

Have same printer. You have to keep trying. Stop & Left Arrow & Down Arrow & Start. It took me many times. My printer is bricked and won't work unless I buy Epson carts for $75. Also, the XP-640 won't allow older firmware than the current. Seems to work but the version it shows is the new one that broke the printer. I tried 3 different versions and tried many times with different operating systems & computers. It's junk and I need to buy a non-Epson printer. Mine was only little over 1yr old.
I have the xp-340 and I couldn’t get into the firmware page using this way. The way to get to the firmware page at least for the 340 series is | left arrow,down arrow,red button with triangle/circle then the power button.

Downgrade to older firmware sure fixed this problem at all...but need key to buying first.

community.spiceworks.com/topic/2235469-epson-firmware-update-disables-cloned-ink. This one worked for me. You have to unplugged the printer while on the process of uploading the firmware. The press Power Button again and it should be on RECOVERY MODE. Now you can run the old firmware to the printer then that’s it. Clone ink is now working .
