I think it's almost guaranteed that the Switch 2/Switch successor won't outsell the Switch, it could very likely not even cross 100 million. However, I still hope the Switch 2 can at the very least be somewhere between a PS4 Pro and Xbox Series S. I don't expect it as powerful as current consoles or Steam Deck level. If it can have better performance from what we are hearing from rumors, battery life that is still on parr with the current Switch, as well a better base storage that can fit more games than the current Switch, I wouldn't even mind it costing $500. I feel like big performance jumps can only a big deal so many times, and it feels like improvements in graphics are also starting to reach their peak for all these other games. I feel this is Nintendo's best chance to go all out. Anyways, I'm done, sorry for the yapping.
I agree with you they make great exclusives but the console is bad if it ran in 4K like the PS5 they would be able to play games like call of duty GTA 5 Madden Star Wars and even more games and they would make there exclusives even have better graphics like smash bros and Zelda and they would be able to run other games better on switch like fortnite and Mortal Kombat
It's portable it doesn't need to run in 4k, 1440p would probably be the bare minimum for it to be good

Performance consoles? all main games on PS4 runs at 30 fps, when Sony finally start to bring their big titles to PS5, it also gonna runs at 30fps, performance is PC, xbox and ps4 is middle ground, and Nintendo is for Nintendo games and indies.
"won't ever" Wrong Nintendo will, and have, but just not as quick to it as Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo doesn't really cater to 3rd party devs. This has been true going to back the NES days. You buy a Nintendo system for Nintendo games. The games are very well optimized. Some hiccups exist yes but aren't really game breaking.
My nintendo switch V1 runs TotK at 15 fps sometimes it even crashes and overheat when i play. It's brand new
