I liked the concept of Agito and Kuuga taking place in the same continuity but in a parallel timeline from the original kuuga. That's how I always viewed it. I wish they could have deepened the lore of kuuga with agito though.
ONORE DECADO!
Something that would have been real awesome, is if they made a direct sequel to Agito, following the "more humans turning into Agito's plotline" that the series ended with, but now also linking it together with Kuuga, exploring how they are related and why Kuuga and Agito looks so similar.

Taiwo Olagunju he also gets Burning, another Fire form. So perhaps Flame should’ve been replaced by something else.

the most epic part of Agito was when El of Wind can't believe being defeated by asking "what are you" and Hikawa just being honest "just a normal human", for me the depth was El of Wind is "archangel" of Teos, regular human are so far below him yet being defeated by a regular human
My interpretation of the three Riders was that each represented uncertainties of themselves. Agito uncertain about who he is and his past. He's Agito, and has his different forms inherent to him but he has no identity and seeks to find who he was. G3-X uncertain about the squad's future, constantly beset by concerns of their squad being broken up and replaced. And Gills uncertain about his current situation, this mutation that he's completely unfamiliar with.
These become resolved towards the end with Agito regaining his memories and his past. G3-X squad stick together and go to fight the ultimate evil against the wills of their superiors and willing to deal with any ills from Agito winning, if any. Gills embraces who he is and makes an effort to resume his life.
Better watch it before Toei's copyright ninjas take it down.

I have to say, the writer's constant torment of Ryo was almost worthy of a meme. I am almost surprised his puppy didn't get run over in the last episode.
The man was already kicked in the ass by life...let him have the puppy.
And also despite being a swimmer, he seems to always get in truoble when water is around.
That was literally the joke I constantly made when watching agito. Almost nothing goes right for him. He loses a girlfriend twice, dies, almost dies on several occasions, and in project g4 he temporarily loses an arm.
I was genuinely expecting him to die again by the end.
But when he got that puppy, me and everyone watching it with me were cheering.
Other kamen riders: has a story for getting a form Agito: eats salad and gets burning form
@Yifeng Toh I believe he already had all of his forms from the beginning, but his amnesia caused him to forget that he has them
@Yifeng Toh When he gets his memory for the first time, he uses Trinity Form, but when he loses it, he also stops using Trinity, because he forgot he has it. I think he unlocked Burning and Shining tho

I absolutely love Shouichi and Hikawa's chemistry. They are an ideal comedic duo. Shouichi being Shouichi and Hikawa trying to be the straightman but inevitably gets roped into Shouichi's antics. Made better by the twist of Houjou also getting roped into it with the rope trick. I just love watching them interact.
I would love it if the series had more direct connections to each other, personally. I loved how in W you could see Foundation X shift focus to Core Medals and Cell Medals right at the very end, it was a nice connection. But from OOOs on, the "connections" became "oh look theres next years gimmick", like how you saw an Astro Switch in the credits to OOOs and the Cross-Z Ridewatch in the tornado thing created when Evolt was killed. Just seeing the next gimmick didn't really make the connections feel natural; it felt more like advertising then a minor continuation of story.
EDIT: Was that a sly reference to "You're not supposed to know about Trinity."?

Yeah, that's one thing that sucks about the modern Kamen Rider. Each new entry feels more like a soft reboot in its own selfcontained verse, so it is like they never really build onto the stuff previous seasons established, they just push them aside too start with something new.
This also makes the crossovers feel pretty jarring, since the whole time there is no acknowledgement that the other series happened, but then one movie later they are supposed act as if they are part of the same world, and it just doesnt make much sense unless Decade is involved.
@@zettovii1367 I don't think its necessarily a bad thing that each Kamen Rider has their own world (I mean, outside of Kuuga and Agito, even early Heisei Riders don't really share worlds either). It's when the connections are only half made to other seasons (again, the Cross-Z Ridewatch in Build) does it sort of irk me. But even then, they usually don't even acknowledge it after a single scene in the last episode.
I think crossover movies are actually pretty great in that regard since most of them acknowledge that there are multiple worlds, even when Tsukasa isn't a major character. Sure, sometimes the reasons for worlds merging is a little contrived, but the point still stands that they establish that there's a crossover between worlds going on. Heisei Generations Final, for example, made it a plot point without Decade showing his face.

It's not necessarily bad, it's just that I wish to see more of a continuity between the riders. Not just seeing lots of new "parallel worlds" that explores the tired and true Kamen Rider formula in some new way.... But I'd also like to see something akin to a "mainline continuity" where you actually get to see how the world progress, and how new gen riders connect to the old ones beyond the novelty of a new gimmick.
Like, there is a whole bunch of Kamen Rider lore, but with each installment being treated as its own self contained season, it generally leads to the old lore getting set aside for the new, instead of expanding upon the existing lore. And that can be quite the bummer for series that have a potential for a sequel, but never get any.
Agito = Agito Classic™
Gilis = Agito Black (powerful flavor, notoriously cursed production line)
G3 = Crystal Agito (Neat, but ultimately couldn't keep up)
Another Agito(Agitwo) = Diet Agito (Like Agito Classic™, but off in a way that makes it ultimately unappealing)

it's good, highly recommended. The only thing that's actually bad is the pacing/timing, but other aspects are just so great

I read recently that the actor for Hojo had auditioned for the role of Daguva in Kuuga. I honestly prefer the dude they went with.

When i first saw V1, i thought The police force found Gavan's suit.
I loved the boat scene when shoichi first turns into agito and the background music blends in so well.
I feel like the show could’ve ended right after 46 because the Akatsuki mystery was found out already and Shouichi found his memories back again in episode 42. I found it kind of strange that he lost his memory when it was pouring a lot outside.
Is it weird the old History of Agito felt more organized?
I love the concept of G3, this Robocop Kamen Rider that harkens back to the Showa days of man-made riders.
The idea that G3 is modeled after Kuuga is a nice nod and the evolution is interesting if you take a look at it (G1 was more Kuuga-based, G2 is unknown, the current G3 lines, and G4 is a black version likely a reference to Kuuga Ultimate).
Even multiple versions were used later down the line in crossovers so the idea of mass-produced G3s is super interesting.
The fact that agito introduced a character called another agito and then zi-o introduced a different another agito, is kinda hilarious to me

In the Gorider web series when all the Riders are introducing themselves, they all refer to themselves as "Kamen Rider ____ (Blade, Baron, etc)" except Kino, who instead says "Another Agito." So I think officially the character is just Another Agito but for trademark or marketing purposes it's Kamen Rider Another Agito.

everytime i stumble on an older video by you going over a season i like i come to understand that we tell ourselves little lies about why others might like or dislike something. let me get into it- i watched agito bout 2 years ago- i had watched all the 2nd phase stuff by then- i still liked it- the acting could be messy the story can get kinda dump but on the character level i couldnt care less cause i like all of them. ive always been known to forgive narrative lapses if the characters im following are fun and i can root for them i almost treat it like a sport or pro wrestling i am straight up rooting for someone. and its that different perspective that reveals my values- just like you do by noticing how you cant vibe with suddenly a powerup happens. to you you appreciate little details and see the potential in the mystery to feel like a really complex puzzle with everything sitting nicely into place. kinda like listening to music youre basically listening for satisfying noise math. the easier to swallow the beter. i get it. however to you i say a flaw to one is a bonus for 2- i really dont mind soft magic in fact i prefer you dont try to explain magic at all- you get caught up in rules to hard and then you end up being in optimized obvious best spell- like a certain British loser book series. so agito just kinda good vibing his way to new powers is just a fitting motif. if anyone can make up bullshit powerups its the guy who never takes anything all that serious. the reason to like the show is our core riders and their journey and eventual connection. theyre all getting over something through the journey. seeing it to the end wasnt well whatever lets go beat the bad guy- it was a mere extension of what they learned. how to deal. they do alot more work in the dialog then in the narrative- and its a focus greatly beneficial to my ideal story telling. but for people with different values they will simply criticize and glorify different things. it is all of these things thats why art endures regardless of our opinion-we simply empower it with our respect.

Personally, for simplicity's sake, I like to think that Kuuga and Agito take place in the same universe, though Agito is meant to be more stand-alone.
As for Kuuga, I like to think that Yusuke's efforts weren't for nothing, since his presence led to the appearance G3 (and Agito, to an extend), who are more capable and prepared to take on creatures like the Gurongi or the Unknown.
I also like to think that Yusuke is just watching everything in the background, and is reassured with everything with the knowledge that people like Agito and co. are keeping people safe.
It's been my contention since Zi-O that the one and only canon Rider is Decade. He can venture around all the different Rider Worlds and AR Worlds, so it makes more sense for all Riders to exist in different dimensions.

Kamen Rider series are gaidens, you could say they happen in a common verse while still having self-contained stories.
Think of it like in the Legend of Zelda series where each game can be played independently while having references to other episodes.
The whole confusion with the appearance of Agito and Another Agito is explained in supplementary materials, I think.
Another Agito looks different depending on the person looking at it. Apparently, Makoto only see's a regular Agito.
So Teos, mysterious guy in black, is obviously the overlord of darkness. Promes is an archangel (El of the Fire) so couldn't had been the overlord of light, so who is the overlord of light..? It's just very confusing, the painting described that Promes gave power for the humans to become agito but during an episode of agito. It was seen that the Overlord of Light was the one who gave the people the power on the ship.

He was in a culinary school before he lost his memory, so no, he wasn't. He's not a terrible cook, he always cooks good and even has a restaurant at the end

For pacing, my only gripe is the beginning really keeps its cards close to its chest, alot of stick and small nibbles of carrot, but once we start getting deeper hooks, it's hard to turn away.

BOY WAS I WRONG! Agito was so cool and had best girl Ozawa Sumiko. The plot was alright, but I had fun.
