Although Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold, John Cena, & Roman Reigns were the faces of WWE. Undertaker was still the cornerstone for WWE in all of those era’s!!!

@@ApolloVSTheWorld If Vince had booked him better, and if he had chosen to elevate guys like Barrett and Riley when he was in his prime instead of burying them, he would be right up there today with those three guys. He had the talent, it was mostly the booking that let him down. Not saying he didn't make some poor decisions that ended up having a negative impact on the company, but still. It was mostly the booking.

They're two of the main reasons I stopped watching wwe. Boring as hell when we'd just had years of absolute madness with the attitude era.
Give me 100 Hardyz, Dudleys, Blackmans over that repetitive boring crap that came after.
Don't miss him at all. He's the guy who drove me away from wrestling. The Super Cena era is one of the worst periods in WWE history. Just a dollar store version of the Rock and Austin.
@@NicCage-eq9tnCena's alot different. Not in-ring style, all 3 are pretty much brawlers with a few power moves, but with Austin it's better to see him chase the title and fight Vince, Cena's deal was crazy title reigns against whoever.

I can't help but appreciate the sheer level of professionalism with which you spoke on the Benoit tragedy. It really took me back to first hearing of it on the news.
Life’s a trip
1:26:14 that’s one of those things about wrestling today that I really miss, the flashes going off whenever someone would do a big move or something worth taking a picture and then seeing the 10s of thousands of flashes going off. It always made those moments actually feel big.
It’s just one of those small details that I really miss tbh.
That and every arena is filled with LEDs now

It brings to mind iconic moments like HBK diving onto Triple H at SummerSlam 2002 and Brock Lesnar's spectacular botch at WrestleMania XIX.
This is as epic as it gets. No huge TV company with their multi-million dollar budget can beat that attention to detail, delivery and production value

I wouldn't call this a documentary. This is more of a Wikipedia article in video format. Not saying that's a negative thing, because this is great. But a documentary usually involves going in-depth on a specific subject.

I felt the same way. This could have been 5 hours and I wouldn’t have noticed. I can listen to Sam and Jack do documentaries all day long. Educational and therapeutic. ❤😊
after the arrival of the shield and undertakers winning streak finally being broken by lesnar, we quit watching wwe. when aew came along it was about a year before my mom died from cancer that i decided to start watching wrestling again. for my mom and i all my years of growing up, watching wrestling together was our thing. much like how the world lost Luke Harper aka mr. brodie lee which broke my heart to find out he died. my mom's passing on april 24th 2021 broke me even more. i miss her everyday and watching this, not gonna lie, i did cry a few times.
I'm only 30 minutes in and all I can say is. Wow
The production value, the editing, the commentary, the seamless transitions. Absolutely everything on point lads ❤️

Rock’s importance was grossly understated. He wasn’t even mentioned until ‘98 and he was mentioned as just another name among many others. like he didn’t go on to be the biggest star in the hottest year in the history of the company in 2000.
A great, great documentary but should have made more mention of Rock's transition from hated face in 1997 to carrying the company throughout Austin's absence in 2000. Likewise, no mention of HBKs heel turn in 1992 or Bret Hart winning the IC from Piper, two moments that laid the foundations of the New Generation.
Still great viewing, though. Thanks lads! 👏👏👏

I'm a wrestling historian, and after watching this, I finally was able to fill in the blanks about the company's existence before Vince Sr.. Information about Capitol Wrestling in it's early stages is hard to come by. What little I've read or heard has been sporadic at best. Thanks for pointing in the right direction to dig some more! 👍👍👍
Capital Wrestling was created by Vince Snr and Toots Mondt, their was no company before Vince Snr.

@@andrewft31 Bro did you not listen to the documentary at all? Vince Sr. did NOT start and was not even a founder of Capital Wrestling… Jess McMahon was the original McMahon behind Capital Wrestling. Vince sr. Aka Vincent J. McMahon took over the company after his father if I’m not mistaken died. Then turned Capital Wrestling into the WWWF which later got shortened to WWF. Which then his son Vincent K. MacMahon aka Vince jr. bought from him & 3 other shareholders who keep it as WWF until he has to change it to WWE.

This is why Cutoholic is one of if not the best Wresting channel. Them doing stuff like this puts them above the rest of all the other wrestling channels. This documentary is so good. This is something you would see on TV. It's that good!
Guys - this was a stunning piece of work. Bravo the fantastic team at Cultaholic. It'd be cool to see one of these for WCW and ECW as well at some point down the line. Maybe even a whole series on a bunch of the old territories depending on what information is available.

Just finished watching it and I think it is safe to say that this is Cultaholic's Magnum Opus from the 5+ years that it has been in operation. Bravo to Justin, Sam, and Dan for the excellent documentary and to anyone else who was involved in some form or another. It was quite a herculean task but you guys pulled it off.
I saw someone mention it below that it would be cool to see this done with WCW and ECW. At least the upside for those is it won't be as long to work on given they haven't been around as long.

I don’t know how many times I felt like crying and actually did cry out of just being so hyped.
I love pro wrestling. It’s been a pillar of my life and will continue to be.
This documentary maybe the best I’ve ever seen.
44:27 Many who grew up during the Attitude Era assume that it was when pro-wrestling peaked in popularity. But the highest Nielsen rating that the Monday Night Wars achieved for a single show was 8.1 when Raw went unopposed, while the highest for Nitro was 6.0, also unopposed. Even if you combine those numbers despite them happening on different dates, they still don't reach that 15.2 by the 1st Main Event in '88. An 11.6 was achieved by the 2nd iteration, 12.8 by the 3rd, 8.6 by the 4th, & 6.7 by the 5th in '91. Saturday Night's Main Event also drew bigger ratings in general (reaching a zenith of 11.6) than either Raw or Smackdown (the latter maxing out at 5.8) during their respective heydays. That's one of the reasons why The Golden Era is officially referred to as such.
I hope you have forgotten when austin came out in jab 99 to protect man kind win ..with head shot on rocks head ..that was 9.1
@@jammyrapper7426 That was for a segment only. Raw drew 5.7 overall while Nitro had 5.0. At least half of the original 31-episode run of Saturday Night's Main Event drew higher than 9.1.

Hogan v Andre, The Montreal Screwjob, CM Punk’s Pipebomb, Vince finally retiring, and WrestleMania X-7 are probably the 5 most influential and memorable moments/events in this amazing and controversial company. I sure do miss the Attitude Era.

Stone Cold vs Bret Hart, Wrestlemania 13 is also a very influential moment in WWE as the double turn started the Era we known as the attitude era.
