Just done an outside catio for our house cat. It is big lean to against back of house with double glazed windows. Fed up of having window open. What a find, your tutorial is awesome. This will work with windows as well. Great instructions and video.
Doing an instructional video with one hand.Well done, mate.👍🏻💯 Now that I've seen it done, with some patience this looks more straight forward than I'd imagined.
Thanks, it hadn't occurred to me that I'd need a glass manufacturer to do the hole, but now seems completely obvious that's the only way to do it in double glazing! Good tutorial for removing the beads and putting back in.
You can't do double glazed glass yourself, unless you get it made up by a manufacturer. That hadn't fully dawned on me, until I watched the video. And I've repaired lots of UPVC windows! Unless, you replace the glass with a wooden or plastic panel, which is a DIY job.
Has anyone had any luck getting this done in the USA? Every single place I call - even custom glass companies - say that they don’t do insulated double glazed doors with premade holes for cat flaps.
That’s the same brand as I just bought, to replace a broken unit. The glazier had cut the old cat flap mounting, but this wasn’t necessary as the double glazed door is wider than 5mm and had a sealed gasket put in. I Found it very difficult to line up the screws with the holes as they would move just as I lined it up and the new unit had a wider rubber strip. I tried three times it’s easier with the long screws and the leaflet says to use a collar under the screw head but then I can’t line them up I think it might be easier if two people fit it. So I used long screws and it moves a little but too scared to overtighten as it may strip out the plastic screw mounts. Good video.
How accurate did the dimensions of the new window glass have to be? It appeared to slide in pretty neatly. Unless it's a standard size they can work to.
Cool Video! - have added it to my Fav's...as i'm planning to get a Cat!.....the quotes i've had from 'Cat-Flap' fitters are so expensive...and unbelievable! - :(
I was gonna pay a glazier to do the whole thing! I'm moving to Kent and need a cat flap in a double glazed unit. This video showed me how easy it is. Diamond Glass in Medway it is. Thanks
I thought this was going a whole different way as Iv been watching diy videos. May I ask roughly how much the pre cut glass panel cost. Iv just realised Iv got similar doors front snd back.

£96 including vat! I got 5 minutes in before I realised the fellow wasn't going to show me how to do it myself!

Cheers dude. Very reasonable.
Just make sure if you put a cat flap in a door unit it must be Toughened glass.
Hello! Can you help me please to find that guys who helped you with the new glass with hole for cat flap? Are you still in UK?
He mentions it in the video
What is the make and model of the cat flap please?
Looks like sureflap.

The unit wasn't fitted correctly, the unit hasn't been set right with spacers it's lob sided.

Thanks a lot 👍🐯
If you're going to pay for new glass why not have a go at cutting it yourself?
Door panels are toughened glass so will be unable cut
