    Hello CZcams friends, and welcome to another wonderful video from Paddy's DIY
    In this video I'm going to be fitting a cat flap into a uPVC door for one of my customers. I will be removing the existing double glazed unit and fitting a flat PVC panel into the door. I will be cutting a hole in the PVC panel to suit the cat flap. This particular cat flap is a microchip cat flap. It will be programmed to the microchip in the cat. When the cat comes near the cat flap, it will detect and read the microchip and unlock the cat flap. Allowing the cat to go in and out. It will be locked to any other cat that tries to enter.
    I have fitted a lot of different cat / dog flaps down through the years. In wooden doors, PVC panels and double glazed windows / doors.
    I always get the customer to supply me with the cat / dog flap. As there are different sized ones to suit different sized breeds. Also there are several locking choices. Microchip locking, magnetic locking or manual locking.

    I’m changing my cat flap to a microchip one and the existing screw holes don’t match with the new one! Which drill bit did you use? And how could I cover the existing holes to ensure I don’t go through them as I’ll be drilling quite close? Thank you!!

      It's just a regular multipurpose drill bit. Will the old holes be visible when the new cat flap is fitted?

    Looks like you fit it backwards. Either that or its an odd design

      @PaddysDiy  Před 10 měsíci

      That's the way it's designed

    Looks like you've put it on the wrong way mate.. the screws should have been put on the inside

    • @PaddysDiy
      @PaddysDiy  Před 2 měsíci

      I agree with you. They should have the screws on the inside, but that's the way the instructions say it goes. Also the 4 way lock is on the inside, and that is always on the inside

    Hi Paddy, nice Vid....where did you buy the panel? I'm finding it difficult to source it as a private DIY person

      Any local window company should be able to supply you with one. There are some online shops that sell them also, although it depends on what part of the world you're in
