I must say to Colleen. Will you reconsider your thinking about some that come to counseling and after the first time haven't done their homework? Are we indeed unmotivated? Why is this? Some of us don't really even know how to begin to do homework because we are intimidated by the process of being "pruned". Some of us are what psychology says, "slow to warm up" people or very wary and possibly suspicious. We are probably the ones that need the most patience and grace because of some of the deep traumatic events in our lives. Even though it may seem that we can be a possible waste of your time and effort, quite possibly in your practice, we will be the ones where you experience most of your growth and expertise too. Please be mindful of this. I appreciate you and thank you for what you do. ❤

@lenorenail1934 Thank you for your honest comment! I am so sorry that what I said was offensive; and in fact, greatly appreciate your sensitivity and vulnerability. No person is a "waste of time"; and when impatience is felt, it certainly complicates relational trust. I will remember what you said here moving forward.
      Thank you!
