    Love these men from New Life Live. Have been listening to Townsend and Cloud from 1990s to this day. Been listening when they were on KKLA radio 5 days a week at work. Steve Arterbern with New Life Live are still on KKLA today. So thankful.

    Thank-you, so much!
    I grew up as a fixer, had a failed first marriage, was solo for 16 years, chose slightly better in a second marriage, but would have done much better if I had learned what you and a recent few others have taught me. I’m not able to go to counseling but this is an excellent option. I have ruined opportunity for good friendships by sharing too much or sharing in the wrong way. I’m trying to find a balance as I obey ‘do not be afraid’ mentioned 366 times in the Bible, as I read a few months ago.
    I look forward to watching more of the videos God had you do...

    Audio book is fantastic as well. (Can concentrate better while driving.) So much wisdom that it comforts the soul. Sort of like Dr. Townsend is sitting beside you in a personal counseling session. Full of hope.

    It is nice to hear the speaker as well. For me I termed boundaries as my rights that I never knew I had and for me then desiring to exercise my rights (boundaries) wirhout stepping on anothers to have truth and grace working hand in hand. I am presently going through how to have difficult conversations you've been avoiding having insight from an outside source is advantages and opportunity to view and listen to Dr. Townsend is an added bonus. And I like the fact it is recognized as a process. It has been in recognizing it is a process of learning and sometimes relearning I find peace. So once again I thank God for opportunity to share books, professionals and videos offering others opportunity to access and recieve insights, understanding they have been seeking.

    When I was in therapy, after a house with a narcissistic mother and a psychopathic father (both clinically assessed), I was told that I had sloppy boundaries. I had to ask what a boundary was - didn't know.

      How could you know. They didn't teach that because it would have been used to keep them from abusing you.

      @@autumngrace8541 People are not always abusive intentionally! Some parents seek help and LEARN these things so they CAN teach their kids how to grow and have boundaries.

    You don't have to be a Christian to practice self respect or respect for others.

    • @jefferyalpha803
      @jefferyalpha803 Před rokem

      That’s true, but it’s good to know that God will never leave or forsake me unlike other people. It is not an excuse for poor treatment of others, but it is a comfort because we all mess up. God understands our weaknesses and strengths. Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart. He can help us bring what is in our heart out into the light so that we can truly heal and connect with others in healthy ways. How can we say that the natural ability to respect self and others does not come from God, whether one is conscious of it or not? I would also say that the disrespect toward self or others is not from God. I have also observed that many Christian’s are not Christian’s at all because they do not believe Jesus died and rose again and that all sin can be forgiven because of it. They are critical toward themselves, and also toward others as a result. Jesus taught that love is above the law. The law is only a mirror to show our need for God. This not a sign of weakness. It’s just how it is.

    Really great video! I have a question: you mention things being a character flaw, but I would call those behaviors. Being deceptive - lying, that's a behavior, in my opinion as a normal person without any qualifications. Is it wrong to call them behaviors? I think doing that gives the situation more hope than calling them character flaws. I would really love to know your opinion on this! Amazing video, thank you so much! I just searched for your books and I found quite a few I'm planning to buy and read as soon as possible! :) :) :)

    They featured this lecture after the buddhist monk talk of the same title and nature. This is the Christian point of viiew. The two talks are quite similar.
    Something to think about. We are all one and should not confine ourselves to one teaching.

    Meeting in church is actually toxic. Organized religion is the worst. I no longer have anything to do with organized religion.
