    I almost bought one of these, and ended up changing my mind at the last minute getting the X RC. Picking it up tomorrow. They are quiet and smooth indeed, it surprised me how much smoother they are than the rzr S models - especially for rock crawling - that smooth throttle input from a standstill is vital.

    I wanted to re visit this video after owning the sport for a while. What I find interesting is how many parts are designed for the X3 are on the Maverick Sport 1000R. Given the horsepower difference it should translate to different stress on the CVT. I wonder if that will mean I have much more belt durability. Every oil change, the oil looks pretty clean with no metal bits in the plug. Engine durability? Has been a great machine so far.

      I’ve also read and believe that your model being the maverick is more durable as they do use several parts and components from the x3. I’m really trying to decide on a maverick sport or the maverick trail, or a base model x3 turbo is pretty close to the sport pricing around here. I looked at the maverick sport Xmr but they are quite a bit more but they do look sweet

    I thought I read elsewhere that the cockpit of the Sport and Trail are identical? I've looked at and sat in both and they seem identical. The difference is in the doors, which are slightly bowed out on the Sport.

      They say its 5 inches wider...I agree, I think it's all in the doors.

    Seems like plenty of power for the trails, I tested out a RZR 1000 Turbo and I feel like, while I LOVE plenty of power, the 168HP could be a bit much if you aren't careful in the woods... I still don't know which SxS to go with, so these are helpful videos, thanks for making this one!

    One thing I would like to see, is how the every day guy would do his maintenance. ie access to the diffs, oil and tranny. Every review be it you guys or Dirt trax or whoever, shows the same things and just repeat each other.

    How does this compare to the X3, The XMR and RC are the same width as the standard X3, does one feel better than the other? I know the x3 has more travel and trailing arms. But seat position and view over the hood looks better in the sport.

    Since these are a somewhat newer less common platform, can you guys do a vid on what parts interchange? I just found out the headlights are the same shape/size, just wiring is different (1 3 wire plug on the canam vs 2 2 wire plugs on the sport/trail, an easy adapter away for swapping to LED headlights). would be nice to know what parts and accessories we can cross shop the X3 on...

    Very nice review of the Maverick Sport 100R. I was wondering if there is much heat in the cockpit area.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 6 lety +4

      After two days in the machine, I didn't notice any excessive heat! Now the trails that we were riding were generally pretty fast, with only a few slower technical areas. I'm sure if you spent a lot of time in tough technical terrain, then you might start feeling some heat from the center console. But I surprisingly didn't notice any for myself. - Josh

      Tighter trails

    • @dre04mach
      @dre04mach Před 4 lety

      The a arm suspension in the back is why I went with the sport X RC over the X3... Both still 64" wide (the RC is wider), but the a arm suspension is much more forgiving over rocks, as the trailing arm on the X3 will be the first thing that hits a big boulder, lifting the rear tire off the ground and losing traction/getting banged up in the process..

      I'm 6'1 230 and I'm perfectly fine in it, and have a friend that's 6'6 and 275, he drove it without issue and didn't mention being uncomfortable or anything. It is a bit more upright.

      I haven't actually had a chance to ride in either of those new RZR models. Both the RZR and Maverick are targeted to the same people/market, and are incredible machines. I personally like the cockpit of these new Mavericks better than the RZR. I'm 6'2" and feel plenty comfortable in this machine. Can-Am has a really nice rider triangle, and I like their seat position. Hopefully this helps! - Josh

    I appreciate the review, but really, a ton of power? 100 hp is a joke these days. Can am has atv's with nearly 100 hp. I don't understand why they are being such pussies when I comes to puting big power in a sxs like the X3. Give me a 150 plus hp short 4 seater like the new maverick sport, and can am would get my money again.
