    The back seat under thigh support of the XUV 3oo was decent. The lack of it in the XUV 4OO is one of the reasons I will go ahead with the NEXON!

    Mahindra could have done better with the front styling. Those dummy caps for fog lamp housing and the overuse of copper makes the front look gawdy and roughly finished. Also missing are the options to turn off regen, which would help highway cruising and the digital instrument cluster, which would help display many useful telematics needed in an EV. Good things when compared to Nexon EV are the inclusion of 6 airbags. Also, any info on the battery chemistry, LFP or NMC?

    • @adityavisu
      @adityavisu Před rokem +7

      This has NMC chemistry sourced from LG Chem, Korea. They have used and older generation of the chemistry which is not as energy efficient as current generation of battery chemistry. Also generally they are quite unforgiving in terms of thermal stress so hope Mahindra has given proper cooling to the battery pack.

    • @jaychingle2261
      @jaychingle2261 Před rokem +3

    I think the reason they have omitted certain features is to keep cost low, reduce the usage or dependency on too many chips hence giving advantage while production, meaning higher production numbers and lower wait times. Its an art to find balance between efficient pricing, production and customer expectation. Hope Mahindra can do better with release of their other models in the EV lineup. For their entry level EV model, I think this is good.

    Well looking at everything including speculated price, I have to say the Nexon EV Max makes more sense here personally. You do get some features there like ventilated seats, electronic parking brake with auto hold function and bigger battery pack there even though motor power and torque output are less than the XUV400. But the most important thing is adjustment for regen regardless of drive modes unlike here which is drive mode dependent. Also Mahindra could have taken the opportunity to give a bigger touch screen (South Africa XUV 300 has a 9 inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) and a refresh of the centre console with digital dials for the instrument cluster (I acknowledge that Nexon EV has semi digital cluster (both Prime and Max)). A bit disappointed with Mahindra here.

    M&M are doing a good job no doubt about it in the feature and futuristic department but what they should focus on is the aftersales and reliability. People buy maruti and toyota not for their features but the reliability and peace of mind. Day in day out I read so many articles on TeamBHP regarding how there's something wrong with their Xuv700 or how pathetic is the aftersales or even the before sales experience of TATA and Mahindra. It is extremely rare to find a dissatisfied toyota or a maruti customer. I mean there is a reason why the Innova, fortuner, baleno, swift etc sells in volumes and their maintenance is dirt cheap.

No doubt these will cost a few lakhs more but it would have been worth investing in this vehicle if these were provided. I think BYD Atto 3 is better than this. Just because these Indian manufacturers plan to price their vehicles lesser with lesser features, they are losing the sales market in India.

The center console design is a little bit outdated and no wireless charging on 2022/2023 model.. Sad.. Also they could have integrated electronic parking brake instead of manual handbrake, atleast on the top model.

    It's a bit disappointing for me that, I did not feel any unique selling point in this product and performance figures are not exciting...

    I really can't understand a lot of peoples comment here on design.
    Sure it does not look as good as Nexon EV. But the biggest selling point of EVs are not looks nor the interior.
    Its the RANGE. If this XUV400 can punch out 240+ kms of range whatever the real conditions may be, thats a huge win for the Xuv400.
    I ve Nexon EV n ma family and the real range is between 180-220 kms per full charge. If XUV400 can beat that consistently there is no issue with interior, exterior or any such shit.
    Cuz at the end f day. It a relatively affordable BeV is all India wants and MM and Tata I feel r on right track
