Mahindra XUV400 EV Review: Good Electric, But A Capable Vehicle?

  • Mahindra XUV400 is about to begin an electric SUV offensive of Mahindra In India. In this video, we have a closer look at the EV to figure out if you should buy it or not. This compact SUV shares its core DNA with the Mahindra XUV300 sub-compact SUV, which in itself is a derivative of the SsangYong Tivoli. At its launch in January 2023, the XUV400 will directly rival the Tata Nexon EV as well as alternatives like the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV. The XUV400’s 39.4kWh battery delivers a claimed travel range of up to 456km. With a 50KW DC fast charger it can go from 0-80 percent in approximately 50 minutes. A 7.2kW wallbox AC fast-charger can fully-charge the XUV400 in 6.5 hours, while a 3.3kW manages this in 13 hours. The last option is a portable charger that can be plugged into any 16A domestic power outlet.

    use ache 13 lakh ki petrol 300 lo.. and remaining 7 lakh me life time petrol ka khracha uthao...
    no point in making EV that cost 7 8 lakh more with same petrol cars.
    EVs need more innovation in terms of price optimisation.

    Fun Fact: Multi-Mode regen feature helps to improve the efficiency of an EV. Seems like this car won’t be efficient enough.

    Nexon max with 40.5 kwh battery gives 350-380 km range without AC and decent speed. Now mahindra claimed larger size and 39.3 kwh battery.
    I think it also give 300-350 km. Unfortunately the cars they provide for review does not reflect the battery consumption. That creates more doubts on my mind.
    Tata' EV is already tested. So it is better to go Nexon or Tigor EV.

    2016 old model xuv300 is converted to Battery and launched as xuv400.. Extended body back side is seen bulging.. Looks like M&M is trying to test the EV market with this product..

    3 years back when planning to buy car rejected 300 bcz of rear ac vent.
    Again this year planning to buy second car ev, but still no rear vent. Again not in option

    Seems like I can’t even choose this car for city drives. Road trips toh door ki baat hai. Atleast Nexon EV have Hill Descent Control feature.

    Looking is outdated means vehicle is outdated.... This vehicle not worth for money
    Better for nexon
    Changes for next nexon ev
    1.:) change information screen size (now 7 inch) change atleast 10 inch with rotation facilities
    2.:) Change the position of charging point, front number is a good area, some video review mension that the charging compartment filled with mud and water so please aware of that
    3.:) Provide ventilated seat swich to sentral console system near the rotary nob
    4.:) Increase the Central console system height little more and put some angle like Lamborghini style......
    5.:) Wireless charger position is very annoying and it decreases the premium quality. Change the position

    Tata has 40.5 kw than it gives 280 km range,
    Than Mahindra 39.5 kw manage 350km.

    In terms of decent and premium looks Nexon EV is far better.
    Nexon has electric parking brake, automatic climate control.

    There is lot of complaint about this car. Mahindra don't make good cars,but make trackers.
    One car stopped working after a guy in kerala taken delivery and drove just 12 km.

      It would be unfair to give a verdict here as the Mahindra XUV400 EV is not launched yet. However, the XUV400 EV is expected to be priced in the range of INR 17 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Stay tuned.
