Can You Beat Skyrim Without Taking Any Damage? (in text form)
Before the how’s, we must create our character. A few minutes on Google was all I needed to make the decision to play as a Wood Elf. They’re good with Archery and Stealth, and I almost always end up playing as an Orc, so the change is a welcome one. I named myself Invertebrate because, you know, lack of a spine, weakling, we can’t take any damage? Not the most clever name, but it doesn’t really matter. After the dragon attacks Helgen and we get control, it’s time to set my Health to 1. I do this using console commands so that I don’t have to manually reload a save every time I take damage. With my total health at 1, any damage of any kind will kill me and force me to try to get through that situation without taking damage.
The good part about Skyrim, unlike some of the Fallout games, is that you can choose to never increase your health when you level up, so we only need to use console commands this one time. Roughly 15 minutes in and we die for the first time. Believe it or not, fire bad. After I entered Helgen Keep I made sure that the difficulty was as low as it could go, then I got my hands cut free by by Ralof, and the real game begins as we’re enter combat for the first time. Before that though, you can see from the Skills screen that my Health is, in fact, at 1. Until I get a bow a little later on, my strategy is to sit back and only strike when I can get the killing blow.
With the loot of the dead Imperial Soldiers in my possession, I marched onward with a sword in each hand, ready to cower and let Ralof do most of the fighting for me. Something fun about this run is that because your health is so low, it’s not uncommon for you to get executed by an enemy if they land a hit on you. After the first time that happened, and I got a good look at myself, I did something. See, armor can absorb some of the damage you take, and since the entire point is to avoid damage at all costs, I decided that armor would not be worn for the rest of the game.
I did attempt to charge headfirst into the Imperial Soldiers in the next room, but it didn’t really work out that well. I picked a few locks, waited for Ralof and the other Stormcloaks to kill the Imperials, and finally got a bow. The Bow and Arrow will be my best friend throughout this playthrough, alongside the Stealth and Archery skills. The rest of the escape went off without a hitch. I activated the Thief blessing, rode the river, talked to Gerdur to figure out where to go next, sold most of my stuff to Lucan Valerius, and was off to see the Jarl of Whiterun.
I was incredibly respectful when speaking to Jarl, I wore my cleanest cloths. Farengar, the court wizard, told me I was to retrieve the Dragonstone, so I looked at the map, and headed in the general direction necessary to accomplish such a task. Along the way I killed a Hunter and swapped my Long Bow out for a Hunting Bow. When I arrived at Bleak Falls Barrow I took a sneaky approach to killing the Bandits was harder than it probably should have been, probably because I am royally bad at both aiming and being sneaky. For whatever reason, the troublemakers inside were easier to kill, which leveled me up. I proceeded to kill a Bandit Outlaw, solve a puzzle, kill some Skeevers, and was confronted a giant unfriendly spider. I hate spiders. Nothing is supposed to have 8 legs. It’s wrong and immoral.

They release air from holes in their body. So yes, they hiss if they feel threatened. It's terrifying.

While I have made many (MANY) stealth archers, my default build seems to be Sword, Board, Alchemy, and Shouts.
@@nolgroth never commited to Sword and shield because i just Love the DPS but i have build Dual wield Dagger/Mace since the dagger gives the mace massive speed

But after 0 magica costs its incredibely op. 200 damage per second(with good timing 0.75) and impact. Playing on legendary is like playing on novize
@@hk-ex4gw eh it depends: if you level basically JUST destruction and maybe enchanting it's fine - staying low level with magic does feel great
you don't get too high and the whole 'magic doesn't scale worth dick' issue doesn't come and bite you in the ass
but if you overlevel you're basically stuck chaining a hundred fucking fireballs stunlocking a foe for like a minute EVERY fight - sucks - sucks real bad
hell this one point i attacked a giant like 50+ feet away with the electric kamehameha (shock master spell) - the fucker got staggered like a second after he just got back from stagger so like 80% of the time he was staggered - he still nearly reached me before he died - shock mask shock perks and a destruction potion and everything (to be fair was pretty high level but also trying not to cheat)
it's just shoddily fucking done when magic's weak but free - the whole point is to have a really strong thing with heavy resource management - archers tend to me middle ground able to usually get better sneak bonuses and whatnot and also have resource management and range and warriors tend to me more durable than OP but can swing for days
plus kinda sucks there's only a handful of spells this time round

Man illusion is the way to go for a playthrough like this. Muffle, Invisibility, calm spells, and "silent" shouts
He was like lvl 10 with nothing in magic cause all of it was in archery
Or Muffle + Fury/Frenzy Spell + Conjuring, especially if you can go up the illusion tree enough to get the silent casting ability. Just sneak in, cast fury on some of the enemies, summon a daedra and watch the chaos. If you're feeling frisky you can kill some people with your bow but it's not necessary.
Also casting muffle (and later when you get more magica, invisibility) constantly, levels you up quickly.
@@mrwog82 Yea, those are great leveling spells. When you're in combat you can also cast the armor spells like stoneskin and barkskin and just be in stealth to level up, basically leveling up by sitting there and doing nothing.
Tri Tebs the biggest problem with playing Illusion is the fact that silent casting, muffle and invisibility comes later and not right up front, so Archery is the more Orthodox method
Now level to 81 and defeat the Ebony Warrior.

He would have had to lift the buckets to take them with him, and they are made of wood. Wood is likely to give splinters, so he had to avoid taking the damage from lifting them, for it would surely kill him!

At the Embassy you could have just dressed as a Thalmor Justicar (a set of robes is just sitting out in the open in the embassy). Then you can walk around without them immediately attacking you.
Yeah, he just torturing himself.
But then when you get to the door, the wizard guarding it questions you, and you get attacked by everyone at once.
I believe that tactic only works when you're a high elf, and if you linger too long, they'll realize you're an intruder and attack you

If you are a High Elf and are wearing thalmor robes you can literally tell the guy at the door to move out of the way and the guys in the dungeon to get out.
Hell it would have worked even for this character. Since he’s an elf he gets a buff to not being noticed.

Cheese the game with Invisibility, Dark Brotherhood Gloves and sneak attack perks. Progress through the DB storyline long enough to get on the emperor's ship, grab the secret sword and you have a bugged 100% stagger weapon (without the unofficial patch). Whatever you can't one-shot with 30x sneak attack damage, you can stagger into oblivion and back until it dies.

I died so many times the first time I tried to get into Sovngarde. Until I just gave up and tried just sprinting straight to the portal and jumping into the portal before the dragon priest closed it, ignoring literally all that shit up there. Amazingly, you can actually do that, and it worked.
This sounds like it would've been a lot easier if you'd just used the Muffle spell and made some invisibility potions out of Nirnroot and Luna Moth Wings. Makes you literally undetectable, no matter what your level of Sneak.

dragonjo3000 No, I get it, but I’m just saying that even though you’ll be invisible and muffled you’ll only have the sound you produce reduced to half. It’s not totally fail proof; you can still very much be found provided your armor is too heavy, as sound you create is mostly based on the weight of items you’re wearing.

Melee stealth kills require quite the sneak and illusion levels which aren't easy to train on a character that can't take damage. But it would work very well when you hit those levels
I don't think he wanted to use any glitches to get his skills up so a dagger in the back of the greybeards was out of the question and he probably didn't want to put loads of points into magika

Illusion is really easy to level up. Just spam muffle(with novice hood equipped)+wait 1 hour function.
Sneak is also easy to level up. Either sneak attack (with a dagger) sleeping draugr or sneak attack grey beards.
Only watched a few minutes. Was disappointed you were not picking up buckets.

You dont have to kill Nahkriin to go into Sovergarde. You just need to make it to the portal before he gets to his staff.
If you do something like this again remember, when you start the Dark Brotherhood quests you can find a set of armor near the entrance to the sanctuary that gives you all the same buffs, but none of the armor rating, they're all labeled as "Shrouded" i.e Shrouded Hand Wraps, Shrouded Hood, etc. They don't have an "armor rating", so no 'light/heavy armor' rating on the top left.
How many times did you get killed by walking over a skelaton and getting killed by it kicking you in the face with the help of weird skyrim physics.

I feel like taking a barrier spell would've helped with those dragons at the end, due to them being able to absorb 40 magical damage (which the breath fire and breath ice shouts count as)

@@kenanchiu actually the game is coded so that as long as the staff is in the slot, the portal is open. So if you sprint and say screw the cutscene, you can activate the portal and warp before it closes

Short answer? Nope. If we use the same rule he did in fallout where looting=grabbing things, then the Elder Scroll makes that problematic. Defense is a non issue, because of magic.
Plus you need to loot a dragon claw for the main quest, don’t you?

Hmm... I would think you could use glitches to get past the parts to be honest. Although, as I've never seen speed run videos of Skyrim, I would have no idea.
Yeah technically you can go in as a Khajit and have decent unarmed damage and get by for most of the run. However once you reach the Thalmor Embassy you are forced to loot a chest for the dossier on Esbern so it would be impossible. Though maybe you can glitch your way to the portal and just finish it that way I don't know if that would work though.

If I recall the 360 has a paperclip slot to get discs out, similar to a PC disc drive. Not entirely sure though.

I feel like either a high elf or a Breton would be better for this. A Breton for the 100% magic resistance(for dragons), out a high elf so you never run out of magika since I feel magic would be better suited since it's still a range win without giving to farm for arrows
It'll say 100% resistance but the max magic resistance you can actually get is 80%, similar to how your armor rating can be 1000 but caps out wherever it is between 600-800

Why is stealth archery so over rated. I tried all playstyles and it sucks. 3 seconds to reload and then not even make more than 400 damage without alchemy. And in melee it totally sucks.
Archery Stealth is kinda good, you just enchant the bow and make it legendary
Can you beat Oblivion without taking any damage?
Provided you can clear the tutorial, absolutely. Your best bet is to clear the Mages Guild entry quests and get access to spell making, then make a spell with Damage Health 100 for 1 Second and Drain Health 100 for 1 second. On the easiest difficulty, this instant kills nearly anything. Also, as long as you don’t sleep, thus never leveling up, everything in the game stays keyed to level 1 players, no matter what your skills are.
