  • Terri always had one particular reception hall in mind when she dreamt of her big day, but their packages start at twice the price her fiancé Phil thinks a reception should cost. So they booked another venue, but the story doesn't end there. Terri, stubborn and competitive, has entered a local "win a wedding competition"-and part of the prize is a reception at her dream hall.

First off I'm not a booshie girl. Having a small wedding or going to the JP and then having a nice reception is totally covering the basis. This way you can have your nuptials without all the extra costs. Get the dress you want, get the bouquet you want, and get the big package of pictures. Find outside areas for backdrop on pictures. I promise you there are areas around where you live that have amazing settings for pictures. Then get a bad ass venue for the reception again nice picture areas. Then throw the best party ever, your first as a married couple. Bottom line the general wedding church pictures wedding party decorations table settings flowers the dress the venue food costs an all these supposed wedding must haves doesn't make a wedding. You can have a wonderful day by selecting certain things to splurge on an remove all the unnecessary. Bottom line is spending money and doing everything possible for a wedding day doesn't ensure that this marriage will work out. And if it's so important to have everything on a wedding possibility checklist then postpone the wedding for 1year and get your ass a second job to pay for all of your wedding dreams.

When booking a venue, or planning a wedding in general, or really any event. Never, never, never plan for people to not show up. Because of this. Exactly this. You don't know if all or 95% of your guests could show up. It is better to plan for all of your guests to show. Then to assume that some of them won't. But then the ones you didn't think would show up end up showing up.

I have so many things I want to say regarding red flags on both sides for the hopes or no hopes for the future of this couple especially if they don’t learn to give and take .. basically compromise instead of insisting on my way only, or they’re going to be very unhappy or end up in divorce!
I don’t know where this man was raised, but I can’t believe that he thought he had the right to come into the brides gallon fitting and decide what she could or could not wear. Clearly he was clueless on the price of a wedding gown even a reasonable price which is not $200! You can’t even go to a cocktail party hardly for $200, so how do you expect to purchase a hand-sewn hand-beaded layers upon layers of fabrics and multiple types of expensive fabric for wedding gowns. He’s not educated about so many things and that was very obvious as he opened his mouth.
He is clueless the wedding dresses on an average or $5000 and it was so offensive to all of the women but mostly his fiancé that he would show up at the shop. Sometimes I don’t know if things are done for CZcams excitement or if people are really that way but I’m very worried for this bride. I have been married not once but twice two very controlling man and my life was hell with both of them. I was a middle child and I did not know how to stand up for myself. I came from a big family and I was criticized and put down by my mother and felt unloved growing up. With low self-esteem is very easy for men to treat you badly no matter how much you love them. This is something you should work on before you ever get married is finances and budget NO PARTNER SHOULD EVER BE TREATED THE WAY THIS GROOM TREATED HIS BRIDE!!!!! That being said, it is VERY IMPORTANT Both partners stay within the budget…Making every attempt to stay within that budget. You can cut corners in one area so that if something needs to have a little more spend on it say the wedding dress or the venue, you know how to control a budget. Many couples go right from their parents home into a marriage and have never handle money.
He doesn’t respect any crafts or art in many areas of the wedding… The art of making a cake for example…My daughter was married 15 years ago approximately and her cake was $500 in the Midwest. We bought the Most sought out Cake Designer & Booked her 1 1/2 Year in advance; signed a Contract; & In the contract it stated you did not make any waves or make any changes or you lost all the money you paid down. She did not deal with conflict from neither the Bride Nor the nor the Groom! OUR Cake was four tiered & Artistically painted SO BEAUTIFULLY on the OUTSIDE&! I LOVED IT EVEN MORE THAN THE BRIDE & GROOM❣️❣️Each layer was its own flavor and people were talking about their cake and their wedding for years afterwards.
The flowers she picked out were so reasonable and this groom had no clue. $65 for that simple arrangement was so reasonable. She only picked three flowers and granted, Cala lilies are at the High end of the spectrum, but that guy doesn’t even know that. She was so reasonable in many of her choices…I want to say GREAT JOB to the Wedding Planner, Who did a wonderful job regarding finding an extra table the night of the wedding when you had extra people show up; helping to keep the cost down on table linens etc. and also for standing up for the bride when it was necessary and helping the groom to say he was out of line or clueless at about the price of a cake or the price of a wedding dress….Which I would like to say the cake was very lovely and fit the Bride’s vision perfectly, and her dress was GORGEOUS♥️❣️❣️
The last thing I want to say is for all people who receive wedding invitations.… If you don’t respond by the RSVP date it is rude and inappropriate for you to show up at the wedding unless you have called the Bride’s family & Explain why you weren’t able to RSVP and get their permission to come. The food and venue are one of the most expensive portions of a wedding and I have extra people show up you’re not expecting is so costly and often times as we saw in this wedding. I have known parents of the Bride & Groom to either: a) send people away if they are not on the list the day of the wedding and they show up; or, b) charge them for the cost of meal & liquor IF the Venue IS ABLE TO SEAT THEM, as punishment for NOT RSVP IN TIME !!!!
I don’t know that I can wish this bride and groom the best of luck because I’m very very concerned about their future. Narcissism is a big concern to me, especially with the groom. I don’t know if he can change his major control and I really am frightened for the future. I hope they can both Bend and grow and change so, IF THEY CAN , Then I wish them the Best!!!

For some people 40K for a wedding is on the low side of expectations. If you make 250K a year and you’ve been saving for 5 years,, 40K might be low.
In the end it’s not about the amount of money but if both people agree and are happy with it. These shows are based on two ppl not agreeing.

I know a lot of the shows like this are kinda scripted, but one of the things I've noticed this time is the budget conscious one uses the words " In the poor house". Like its used in nearly every episode. Also the person saying it (usually the man) seems awkward and it doesn't sound like its a phrase the person would use judging by their speach pattern throughout the rest of the show.
