Nephew gave this to me for Christmas. Have had shoulder issues that limited my lift due to sharp pain. (Previous bicep tendon tear and Labrum tear). The Sling Shot pulls my arm into proper position and I’ve gone through three chest days with no “bad” pain. Love it!
Mark, your slingshot is the best thing since sliced bread. I had a lot of pain and at 50, I thought I was going to have give up the heavy weight. This thing has me back in the game with minimal pain in shoulders, I am 50 so have some old joints. But I am at a PR of 520 now more than I ever thought I could reach. The younger lifters have ask me my secret and now the Damn things are everywhere. Thanks, from big Mike at Hill AFB Layton UT
I have use it today at first time and it was so easy to use. My raw is 170kg and with this Redone i get 190kg... It is so wonderful help to my shoulders, no pain at all !!! I just love it !!!
I just received mine! I bought the Mad Dog version ! My best is 305x1 today I did 315x2 and easily could have done more! This thing is great! Thanks Mark Bell!
The slingshot saved my training l had bad shoulder pain and thought about giving it up at50yrs old l ve gained in my chest and triceps it really helped alot thanks mark
Wonderful equipment! We use them all - the blue, the yellow, the red and the Mad Dog, they're perfect for 1-2 overloading sets. You should check out the other SlingShot products, like Multipurpose Wraps, SlingShot Hip circle, The compression cuff etc.
mark i'm name is lou gerczak, I was a competitive bench press powerlifter for 25 years despite having a life long disability which has left me wheelchair bound and unable to use my legs...my personal best bench was 510 lbs at a body weight of 210 lbs. about 10 years ago I tore my pec and decided to retire from competition. a few months ago a brought a mad dog sling shot and started training with it right away. I have been using the sling shot for the last few months and my max bench has gone from 385lbs. to today I hit 445lbs. not bad for 55 years of age. thanks to creating the best bench assistance tool ever.
first day I tried mine I benched 375 for one. My max is in the 325 330 range. I fond using the product has helped my form and my bench is starting to increase.
I got the full boar and wow its awesome!!! It felt good rite away though slightly awkward by the 3rd set I got it. 225x 14, 315 x 4, 275 x 9, 275 x8, 225 x9. You can tell shoulders don't feel stressed and total volume is increased I got great pump. Definitely recommend!
Used the black Slingshot for the first time ever yesterday. My raw bench is 350, I benched 405 with the Slingshot.. Completely mind blowing, and will definitely purchase my own very soon. I highly recommend this product.
how hard was it to touch the 350?? I heard you need around 350 on the bar to touch, but I can touch 225 in a tight katana so I sometimes disregard the numbers involving weight needed to touch, just wondering your personal experience with how much it took to touch
supertraining06 can you pleace tell me which gym is that? I have seen it in competition videos. It just makes my so pround when I see the Bulgarian flag hanging there :)
you know what's interesting. I actually used to do this with Jump Stretch bands. I used to train at Coach Hartzells gym and one day he showed me how to double the bands around my arms, similar to the slingshot and how it helped lighten the weights. Only problem is that the bands would ride up to high and end up choking you lol. I will be purchasing your 2 slingshots soon
Lovin my slingshot! Onoly problem I have is that the elastic is kind of poking out in certain areas. It's not an issue, and not even close to compromising the integrity of the slingshot, but It's just some kind of wear and tear. The slingshot has helped me get my volume up and helped me overload. I'm a weak guy but I'm comin for that 225 bench!
Great video Mark. I like the scientific and professional approach you put into strength, getting fit and in essence healthier in body and mind. Question from an over 40 year old newbie. How do you measure your bicep, flexed or relaxed?
QUESTION: i currently hit chest once per week...... I will start with flat bench and do 2 warm up sets, then 4-5 work sets (depending on feel) of 3-8 reps.... Then ill follow up with 4 sets of dumbbell incline presses in a 8-10 reps and then 4 sets of flat flys.... i will do this routine for 8 weeks and every 3rd week, i will change it up by doing incline barbell presses followed by flat dumbbell presses, then dips..... i am not a powerlifter. I am just a mid 30's weight lifter (going on 20 years now). I am about 210 lbs and just started bench pressing about 3 months ago. Ive always just stuck with incline presses as my "go to" chest exercise because its more of a bodybuilding lift and always evolved my workouts as going for size not strenght. I have been more and more intrigued with powerlifting exercises and fitting them into my schedule though as i have found a new fire since ive started following Brandon Lilly, Dan Green, Mark Bell, etc.... i just tried a 1 RM on the flat press and had a failed attempt at 375 lbs. I failed on my lock-out... and could have used more leg drive. I suppose my long time goal would be to hit 405 lbs. If i were to buy the sling shot, how would i incorporate it into my routine? That is to say... how often should i use it without becoming dependent on it? (all my sets, every chest day? etc)....Advice is much appreciated....
I feel like chain, or rubber band work, would do the same thing as far as improving the upper pary of bench. I like that it does correct the positioning of you arms though, and I think the application for pushups is a big thing though because thats a hard exercise if you think about it, and especially if you adding weight.
Dude had me try one out at the gym today. I was complaining about my shoulders killing me when benching. I thought he was crazy and just another gimmicky gym product. Honestly I was wrong. This thing is kind of awkward the first time on but seriously DAMN!! the slingshot is freakin amazing. i was able to bench 20 lbs more immediately and my shoulders weren't blowed out after the set. Def scoring one.
Can someone give input on whether or not you would be stronger with or without the slingshot? I realize it helps if you have shoulder or pec issues, but for a healthy lifter with no pre existing injuries, what real benefit are there to be had over simply benching raw? it also seems you are trading strength in the bottom part of the lift for more lockout strength. thanks.
+supertraining06 can you pleace tell me which gym is that? I have seen it in competition videos. It just makes my so pround when I see the Bulgarian flag hanging there :)
supertraining06 i can bench 350 raw so should i get the original or the mad dog? I want to get up as much as i can. (ive been lifting for at least 10 years straight)
@supertraining06 so I just bought one of these three days ago and got it in the mail today very excited to use it tonight at the gym. I watch your video and hope so finding an answer to my question but didn't get it. so my question is can you explain to me what the difference is between lifting with the slingshot on for higher reps versus lifting a lighter weight for higher reps? does the difference lie in the fact that you are coming down with the heavier weight? So it is helping your body get used to the negative part of the lift?
I just ordered one for volume, strength technique and mind muscleconnection when farigue. Now im a short guy at 5' only. The small/medium is so tight, i cant fit it around my arms and feels like my arms are suffocating. Is that what its supposed to feel loke or do i need to upsize to a large?
Mike. I purchased your slingshot belt and few months back, and to the honest I was doubtful of its abilities for someone of my size (75kgs). I have been using the belt for just a few weeks and the slingshot has made a massive difference to the amount I can bench plus the number of reps per set I can do Today I benched 120kgs, that approx 260lbs using the slingshot, I know that not in your league but for me that was a high point
I felt the same way. My bench was 100KG (225) for 4 reps for the past 3 months. After using the Slingshot for a week, I can now close grip that weight raw! Finally some progress.
Check yeah mark if I get a job I will get the long versatile wraps U like the Filipino flag Heck yeah because of your tips in less than a yeah I gained almost 59 raw on my bench
Vincent Lamphere when i first got this. My buddy and I tried it out at the gym during our chest day routine. it works out well with incline and decline presses too. I never used it only for flat bench but my friend did for incline and decline and he said it worked out well. everyone has their own opinion on this product.
I’m 60 yrs old, using the slingshot has significantly reduced shoulder pain at 225lbs & up ! Sadly , already had some 40 yr old Obviously on “gear” walk up to me while I was benching and tell me I’m Cheating ….and that I would “hurt” myself using the slingshot. How rude And Ironic.
I Have a question. which sizing chart would be better to follow. the weight chart for choosing the slingshot or size of bicep chart ??? supertraining06
+TheRamon81 yeah i just got mine in the mail today (ordered the XL going off of the weight chart because I'm 200lbs) and it is too small LOL then I see this video with the bicep measurements -__-
Sometimes if I cant lift the weight I want to I just set a car spring on either side of the barbell so I can bounce it off of them at the bottom, that way I can do more weight! Some times the weight flies out of my hands and goes through the ceiling. SLINGSHOT LOL! How about just training with weight your body can Handel until you can add more weight!
I'm a girl, 63kg, 50 kg is my attual bench pr, but I've just started with powerlifting. Do I buy the original or the reactive one? I'm more propense for the original one, please, someone help me :)
Probably want to get either the original one, if you're doing a lot of body weight exercises reactive may be more viable. really depends on what you plan on training
Mark, I need you to tell me what size a guy needs to get in the MADDOG version if he has 19" arms *COLD*?? I'm seeing people say you gotta go one size bigger if you have "big" arms...but WTF is a big arm? and if I go XXXL Im purchasing a slingshot you have designed for 300Lb+ guys... Bro please fix your sizing selection charts ;)
This brought up my bench so much after shoulder injuries from powerlifting and grappling. A must have in the gym bag.
Nephew gave this to me for Christmas. Have had shoulder issues that limited my lift due to sharp pain. (Previous bicep tendon tear and Labrum tear). The Sling Shot pulls my arm into proper position and I’ve gone through three chest days with no “bad” pain. Love it!

If going by arm size would you measure your arm extended out straight or with your arm bent at 45 degrees ?
Make sure you get a size or two bigger because when i got mines it was too small
Just got my mad dog slingshot today can't wait to try it out
+djackson7979 how is it? has your bench gone up? thinking about getting one
+Venom Carnage it helps a lot on bench pressing 425 right now I'm just a year out of having my surgery on my right shoulder it was a labrum tear
If your stuck in a rut get one of these it got me through the 300lbs barrier
That was like a infomercial without repeating the footage 5 times :D

Which one do you recommend? I am have rotator cuff pain and just looking for a little help with my bench. Original or reactive?
Are these available in the UK?!!!!!!
I curious to know whats the difference between the slingshot, Metal's catapult, and Titan's ram?
Check out my 585lb slingshot lift. Up with ease!! Slingshot really helping me in my push to 600lbs. great overload training!!
+supertraining06 can you pleace tell me which gym is that? I have seen it in competition videos. It just makes my so pround when I see the Bulgarian flag hanging there :)
Just bought my first slingshot after a torn pec
Would you use this every chest day?
supertraining06 i can bench 350 raw so should i get the original or the mad dog? I want to get up as much as i can. (ive been lifting for at least 10 years straight)

Bryan Jones got a random question. Did it get shipped by UPS?
I just ordered one for volume, strength technique and mind muscleconnection when farigue. Now im a short guy at 5' only. The small/medium is so tight, i cant fit it around my arms and feels like my arms are suffocating. Is that what its supposed to feel loke or do i need to upsize to a large?
How about using for pulling? Bench would be future method while pulling would be more like band work using less bar weight.
What sling shot is recommended for intermediate benchers?
I was wondering what size to get on the original slingshot (red). Im fairly tall at 6'5" a reply would help a lot. Thanks!
So if I understand the big advantage here is it forces you into the correct form instead of having your arms noodle around?
Does it come with anabolic steroids?
What size is this silent guy using on the red one?:)
Im assuming you measure your bicep with your arm straight and not flexed, is this correct?
Goddammit Mark looks huge here.
Can I use the maddog for 225 and up even though it says not to?
Mike. I purchased your slingshot belt and few months back, and to the honest I was doubtful of its abilities for someone of my size (75kgs). ***** Not for long!! Once you start using the slingshot it will only take a couple of months before you hit 225.
I just bought a 2XL feels to tight . should of get a 3XL ?
Check yeah mark if I get a job I will get the long versatile wraps U like the Filipino flag Heck yeah because of your tips in less than a yeah I gained almost 59 raw on my bench
Do you donate to broke college students? lol
Will you bench more raw without slingshot after like a month due to overload training with the slingshot?
Yes
my girlfriend bought me the slingshot for my birthday coming up, can you use it for incline press as well?
+Vincent Lamphere Someone please answer the question I would like to know as well.
+Vincent Lamphere ye

Old vid, back when Silent Mike always looked shy and confused.
he mark,I'm 6'0 240lbs. u think a XXL would be a perfect size for me

Can you get big as you use it
I Have a question. which sizing chart would be better to follow. the weight chart for choosing the slingshot or size of bicep chart ??? supertraining06
Use the arm chart! I went by the weight chart and it's borderline too small.
+TheRamon81 yeah i just got mine in the mail today (ordered the XL going off of the weight chart because I'm 200lbs) and it is too small LOL then I see this video with the bicep measurements -__-
It's a lot easier to take advice from you now since your so jacked and tan!

he meant overload by 10% or to 110%. just said it wrong. common error in many languages.
I'm 200lbs and I bought xl unfortunately it fits way to tight
But does more over all work translate to sincere strength development without it? I'm so unsure if I want to spend $60 on it=/
