I remember watching this next day only the cool boy's was talking about the Band then a few girls came over n started talking Pop rock & roll and I fell so in love with girl's especially rock & roll girls ❤
I was a little kid in south texas watching this on our FIRST TV ever.......used to listen on the radio to it....but never knew what they looked like till TV set was bought.....I went crazy with my older sister hopping around the living room........keep on dancing
6/16/2020 Cool GIBSON bass, popular model in those years. And, a now legendary early days Rickenbacker. They had the best "vintage gear" at that time, though it wasn't vintage then.
This is the 1960s I will choose to remember; A group of youngsters that made it big from a little pop song. Not a bunch of naked hippies dancing while on lsd.
I thought it was a nice touch that the Hullabaloo dance troupe did not feature male dancers who were taller than the female dancers. It always works best when they are all of about the same height.
And the dancers were integrated. Actual African Americans dancing with white people. I’m sure ther were people in the South who went berserk over this. And probably more than a few up North.

No, pretty Teri Garr was a dancer on Shindig. Shindig had it all over Hullabaloo. Watch them both. BTW, this live version is just a little bit faster that the original. Just fast enough to make it hard to dance to. Watch the GOOD Shindig version (2:22 minutes long)
I'm only 48 but I wish the world was still so much fun . It would have been so cool to be teen young adult in 60s cali
I saw the Gentry’s in 1968 and my brother told me I bet in 50 years from now people be listening to this and I thought he was crazy!
I turned 13 on this date. Nice memories. Thank You. "The Gunny."
They are so young and sweet. Love the shy smiles☺
This song was perfect for dancing the Pony!
Jimmy Hart the Mouth of the South from WWF days
The place where this groovy studio was is now a small shopping area in Hollywood
Those were the days😊😊😊

I second the motion. It is nice to hear it live instead of "canned".

Although Teri was a dancer, that's not her.

First version was by the Avanti‘s on Argo label
The original go go boots. Shorter and not as tight around the leg.

Great song then and now!

If you find that time machine hope i get a ticket back.
My favorite dancer was the blonde go go girl on the left. Live singing.

live! great.
Imádom !!!😺😎🙃🕺💃
The dances of the Sixties were inspired by the Charleston dance of the Twenties. When the moves and the music of the 60's produced the GOGO dancers.
The blond on the dance floor is Teri Garr
No. She was on “Shindig”.
יש להם ביצוע יותר טוב שלהם לשיר הזה שבביצועם. זה טיפה מהיר מידי ופחות משכנע לטעמי. ההוא, אדיר יותר ועם רגש הרבה יותר!!!!
Memphis finest;
Is that George Maharis? He is looking GOOD.
drummer was like "lets kill these dancers"
love Patrick Arriarte doing the jerk at 1:17
This version is slighty different in the melody right? More sped up or something? I can't find another gentrys upload that sounds like this one.
They definitely sped up the tempo from the record.
The whole show is on speed. Cray cray
THE MOUTH OF THE SOUTH OR THE CORONEL JIMMY HART.
At 0:18 that guys pants are giving him a wedgie. Those r some tight pants.
Nice rear, and he was hot! 👍
Jimmy Hart!
Oh JIMMY HART, THE HART FOUNDATION,WWE WRESTLING. No mini skirts!!!
Mini-skirts were about a year and a half away.
By 69 and 70, they were micro mini out of control.

Larry Rasberry
Too bad about the video stretched too far horizontally to fit on the wide screen, so every body is too wide body.
Show me how you work, EHHRR twerk, this was literallary ahead of it's time

Was that Jimmy Hart or Howard Wolowitz?
He was like 16 in this clip.
He was 37 years old, born in 1928
Interesting...
1965 and the show was racially integrated.
The 60's really were the Golden Age.

Great music and all, but this culture was lame as shit in my opinion
No, our current culture is lame as shit.
Lada St Edmund was an amazing dancer
