My best friend, my sister and I used to go to the tapings of Hullabaloo all the time. The guard always let us in early, and we would watch all of the acts rehearse, and sometimes we would go to the cafeteria and have lunch with the different groups. 🎵🎵
very cool
I was a teenager in the 1960’s, remember all the shows, the girls all wanted the white gogo boots, the guys wanted the black pointed toe shoes. Funny to think back now.
True!
Nahh, we wanted Beatle boots, not city slicker - "ethnic" uhhh "stompers" tryin' to be polite here.... It was all about Carnaby St. the US had nothing hip, nada.
I started college in 1970, and one of the instructors was a very attractive woman who wore a different pair of gogo boots every day. I couldn't tell you anything I learned in that class, but I never forgot the gogo boots!
"Today's music ain't got the same soul . . . "
I have been hearing that ever since Buddy Holly died.
A stage the size of a postage stamp presents its own set of challenges.
I remember Hullabaloo and Shindig. The 60s were my teen years and it’s was really cool to see the musical stars of those years.
Shivaree was my favourite.
Love those Courreges dresses and white go-go boots!
What a wonderful wsy too open the show with the great chuck Berry
Is it just me, or does this stuff sound better than the crap we're hearing now days?
Smoky Robinson was so adorable.
Paul Revere and the Raiders, hell yeah!!
Chuck and roll!
That dancing.. pure energy 👍🏽
Paul Revere and the Raiders!! Chuck Berry and Smokey!!
Chuck Berry, the True King of Rock and Roll,
Absolutely agree.
How did the story get started that Elvis Presley was a rock n roller at all?
Little Richard=The 2nd Queen (A little known Woman was the 1St Rocker) Buddy Holly=The Prince; Phil Spector=The Jester; The Beatles=The Angels; Smokey=Purest; The Stones=Their Satanic Majesties; The Who=The Seeker(s); Tina=The Undisputed!

Elvis WAS a rocker....
Chuck is thinking? 'Wheres the teen girls'! Well like Elvis, and many of em..
@@ottoandhanzblack2175 Please name one rocker in his repertoire after he left Sun. I still love the Sun sessions, but “Blue Hawaii” and all that is just so MOR.
YEAH I LIKE MY GENERATION ROCK N'ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
What I remember is that the acts on Hullabaloo usually sang live to a music track.
The Rascals, Best band to have come out of New Jersey/New York Area.
🌟 Dino Danelli 🌟
@@lfader Eddie Brigati ⭐️
@@georgecapote6374 No Eddie No Rascals !! 👍
No Eddie, Felix, Dino or Gene, No Rascals. All those 45’s, all those years ago! We had the best music!
The Soul Survivors out of Philly always reminded me of The Rascals. Good times!
The music of my formative youth.
Watched the show every week.
Love seeing Dino Danelli +++ Jeff Beck 🌟🌟 (r.i,p.)
Dino Danelli of the Young Rascals was one of the best drummers ever! He passed away 2 months ago at 78.
He was great!
Remembering that show ❤ Oh yeah and those gogo boots 😂😂😂 I wanted a shimmy dress and to be a Go Go dancer...🤭😂
I ❤❤❤ Johnny Rivers
I forgot had handsome he was (is).
I have the dvd with Sammy Davis Jr. hosting. Opening with the dancers, what a song and dance man, true entertainment
1:06 Jeff Beck rocks out
Love this!! The best!!❤
Chuck strikes again! 😂
That’s not a stage, that’s a postage stamp!
John Lennon and Keith Richard call Chuck Berry Dadddy.
Keith Richards even produced a movie about him.
These are such great videos without the MC interruptions!
And NO CELL PHONES !!!!
@@smittyinwootown5640 Days without cell phones were good days! 🌞
@@Ann-st8et agreed. I’m 65 and hate my cell phone.
Go Johnny go go
I used to run home from school so not to miss Hullabaloo and Where the Action Is. And I had go-go boots, too.
Never had a clue what Johnny Rivers looked like.
Wow - this is LIVE not a lip-sync which was far more common because TV studios didn't bother with very expensive mix-boards. "We'll broadcast it on single-track tape because that's what most TVs have."
I always watched this show!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I loved that show as well as were the action is😊
My all time favorite Hullabaloo show was the one with Rick Dalton.
I used to watch this show too.
Wow, so very rare that ALL these acts are performing live. Most tv shows were lip syncing to the record. I dig this
The cameraman couldn't take Keith Relf pretending to play the harmonica after _each line_ he sang, so he turned away after the first verse, never to return. Also, I need to find the full version of this so I can watch Patrick Adiarte freak out during the rave up at the end!
Jeff Beck on guitar...RIP Jeff.
Ahh,ooh Suzanne Charney😍
Who's that?
Chris Hillman
❤🎉❤
Go Go dancers powered by black beauties and trucker's whites.
That 2nd track has a Jean Genie vibe to it??
It's a classic blues riff...
The go go dancers are just as bad as I remember them being. Good times.
