Many Many Thanks
I was/am the founder, leader, guitarist and one of three vocalists in The Gentrys. I sang this song "Keep On Dancin' "when I was 17. It was a number 4 hit record in September 1965. I am still performing and singing it today. I and all The Gentrys are honored and appreciate so much, your making our hit the soundtrack for this monumental, fun video. MOST OF ALL EVERYONE FROM HOLLYWOOD TO HOME LAND KEEP ON DANCIN' !!!
It was an honor and a privilege to make a video of this great classic from 1965. I'm so thrilled that you and your band enjoyed the video. The Gentrys still rock!!!
Larry, I saw you with the Raspberrys at the VCU GYM in 1975 in Richmond,Va. You guys blew the roof off....one of the best shows I ever saw!!!!!!!
This is such a great record I had to look it up after Jimmy Hart talk about it on that WWE Network.
I read a long time ago that this song was cowritten with Mouth of the South Jimmy Hart. Any truth to that?
I loved it! Great job!
Whoever put this together, it's OUTSTANDING! I watched all those shows when I was a kid.
I know. I nearly cried when I saw Gilligan's island 🤣
Me too.
Herman Munster get me everytime.
😂
@@gregorykiernan7849 And then he went on to be the judge in "My Cousin Vinny" LOLOL! Great actor!
I saw a lot of them on 'Nick at Night'. Good memories.
Damn we sure had some fun
Glad i was born in those days the 60s and 70s had the best rock n roll and country in my opinion
50s-70s Best music and coolest cars in history.
Agree!
Don't forget the foundation of Rock and Roll, the 50s
I remember the 60's but was too young to have adult fun, the only problem about being a young adult at that time was Vietnam.
It was an honor to be alive and young in those decades. We had something special.
The 60s we're a time of very infectious music.
We need more of this these days.
This clip showcases basically the who's who of the 60's, magnificent
When music and times were great, fun and innocent.
God, I miss those days.
It is all back in a huge way.. There are tons of great new classic rock, oldies, neo-soul, psychedelic, everything.. Looks like the kids are sick of shitholer "music" and decided to rock instead!
yep the Cold War was a gas boomertard. Nothing like US & Soviet Union just a hair trigger away from nuclear war & total end of the planet. And just in case you missed it the Vietnam War was moar fun. And helter skelter with the Charlie Manson family as they hacked & slashed to the beat of the times. Which included anti war movement & student protest across the nation including National Guard using the student body of Kent State for target practice. Nevermid political assasinations like JFK,MlK and RFK and George Wallace. And to top it off Watergate and 'I'm not a crook' tricky Dick Nixon.

But m-muh perfect, non-violent childhood. These dang kids and their iPods don't play outside anymore. And the hip-hop music.
Me too.
keep snort'n glue.
Who needs aerobics with dances like these? LOL. I MISS those days.
Hello Kimberly, How are you doing?
I been watch old music vids and seriously dont know whether to smile or cry.
Long live the batoosie!
Anytime I want to shake off a bad day... I come here.
I love Lucy in her dark wig dancing!! More, please, more!! ❤
Lucy ? Do you mean Elizabeth Montgomery ?
@turbodoggur No. Lucy. After Elizabeth Montgomery as Serena dancing around. Lucys wearing a black wig and a black and white outfit. The clip is brief. It's at the .51 mark. Watch it again.
@@NataliesMommy Wow - good eye. Would never see 'that' as Lucy in a million years.
@@turbodoggur Thanks. I wish the clip was longer. Lucy was adorable. ❤️
one of the legendary videos of CZcams. this here never gets old.
RIP Mary Tyler Moore. Brought us such joy in everything she did.
So did Patty Duke, Joyce Jameson, Fred Gwynne, and all the others who gave us such great tv memories growing up in the never-dull 1960s!
I love oldies music!!!
To think that one of the lead vocalists of this band, Jimmy Hart, would become one of the most iconic and legendary managers in professional wrestling is amazing.
That's how I even heard of this band/song. Good stuff!
Imagine being physically fit all because of dancing and a prancing!!! Absolutely fun!!!
thats how it was back then Charlene, you would have just adored it
i think i can i think i can!!
That would be me. At age 72, I am still killing it out on the dance floor.
Way cool Charlene 😊
If I had an apartment/home where I could dance without anyone else hearing it, I would be dancing and a-prancing all the time!
One of my grandma fav song before she passed away it hurts to sing and hear but I like it because of her 😥
I love this‼️‼️ Especially Morticia and Lurch
This is funny as HELL!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great video! RIP to all those that have passed from this by gone era.
This video is out of this world.
The Gentrys were an awesome kind of group. Love to dance to their music..
I love this 1965 song "Keep on Dancing" because of its rhythm.
The video throws me back to 1965.
Perfection
WINS BEST U-TUBE VIDEO EVER!
I grew up in the 80s and was raised on all these RE-RUNS!
This song and clips can't help but make you SMILE!
That scene with Granny and all the Beatniks doing the potato dig was one of the funniest gags ever.
A great performance from a great era of pop music. It's a classic. I think I almost tried to dance to it when I was eight.
Rest in peace, Patty Duke (0:34). You were so sweet and funny, thanks for the smiles.
Beverly hillbillies
Eddie Applegate ("Richard Harrison") playing her boyfriend on the show, passed away at 81 before the end of 2016, a few months after both Patty and her tv father, William Schallert, who died 6 weeks after Patty (Mar. 29) on May 8, 2016. Jean Byron (the mom) died a few years earlier, so now Paul O'Keefe ("Ross", Patty's little brother on the show) is the sole remaining actor alive from the nucleus of that family. He is now 67 (Apr. 1951 birth).
Love This One!! LISTENING IN 2019!!
Yup!
👍👏♥️
So , So fun😀
Watching old vids and hearing songs I grew up with always makes me twinge a bit with sadness, that world is gone.
I could watch this all day long👍👍😀
The 50's and 60's music reflected an age of innocence and simplicity that may never return. It was a fun time. I remember this song well - it was the year I married my high school sweetheart. (Go Sunset Bisons - Class of '62)
Made me smile from about 1 second in. till the end of the video.
So great....Yeyyy!!! Love Ginger, Batman, and Herman Munster most of all.
Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!! Can't stop watching! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Man some of those 1960's babes.
Probably the best compilation of 60's tv sitcoms I have ever seen and to top it off with a great soundtrack by the Gentrys!
Cheers!
Hilarious! Want to keep watching

LOVE IT !! 1960S WOW WE HAD GREAT SHOWS & GREAT MUSIC !
Oh Mr. Mooney, I had no idea you were such a good dancer.
great song and great video.....made me chuckle watching it.
This compilation should win an award
I was born 20 years after this song was made and I love this video and the song is amazing. Only here because Jimmy Hart was an amazing manager!
So groovy man, I dig!.
My god this is incredible....
Oh gosh, grrreat compilation!
Back when TV was fun!
Cool how Herman Munster - Fred Gwynn - actually showed more potential as a good dancer with a better sense of rhythm than 95% of the other actors/actresses shown in this clip! Thanks for this post!
Awesome ! I love them All
Wow!!! Lurch, Mr. Mooney, The Skipper and Uncle Martin all doing the boogie!!! Gotta love it.
Very fun great seeing all the actors from shows of my childhood
Love the silly grin on Herman...cracks me up everytime..🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love this video with keep on Dancing. Pretty cool!
Cat woman,Julie Newmar, Barbara Felton 99...so much good stuff.
Every time I watch this it's all I can do to keep from falling out of my chair laughing! This is so great; so many great memories. Ahhh, the Golden Age of TV...and music!
Hell yeah "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart as the main vocalist, can't believe he went on to become one of the greatest wrestling managers of all time after this.
Jimmy Hart was a backup singer, Larry Raspberry was the lead guitar and lead vocals. They all went to my school. Treadwell High School in Memphis, TN and graduated in 1965. They had this hit before they graduated.
Robert McGee Yes but he's the only that is still relevant
@@andrewft31
He hasnt been relevant since the fucking 80's dick-breath
@@robertmcgee5717 wow. I did not know that😨☺ Im not a wrestling fan but my husband and son used to watch it all the time so I knew who Hart is but didn't know he was a singer. Thanks for sharing 👍☺. I learn something new everyday 👍
Jimmy Hart also wrote a lot of pro wrestlers entrance music.
From Memphis, the Gentrys...Loved the group, this song!
Excellent!!!
Right on! That one-shot Ontario band caught the 60s beat exactly right!
The best I've seen so far!
Damn, this was a good record!!!
Old guy here and 15 yr old when this hit the AM radio . Nice garage band dance tune!
An arrangement with a pure, unadulterated downbeat :)
Rest In Peace Patty Duke
& MTM
and Fred Gwynne and Joyce Jameson et al
Hot80s in
Joyce Jameson is in it twice!
Brideless Groom: On The Andy Griffith Show ("Skippy", one of the Fun Girls) near the start, and then at the end with Fred Gwynne ("Herman Munster"). She was only 54 when she committed suicide in Jan. 1987. She was a scream, and I hope more people recognize how funny and great she was as a comedic actress.
Herman dancing to this,wow...and uncle Martian too...
this video is 10 years running and still the best on CZcams!!
Literally the best video EVER!!
This is great and brings back so many good memories.
Patty Duke,Gidget and Ginger. Cool compilation.
LOVE THIS SONG!!!! Video is great too!
This is one of my all-time favorites. I love that part where it just stops. I danced to this song at my sister's wedding.
*****
I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
That had to be fun 😃
Actually the song was too short and the producers wanted more so they added the last part ..That's why the stop occurs but it turned out to make the song even more enjoyable.
Jimmy "the mouth of the South" Hart WWE manager formed the Gentrys
Jimmy was also responsible for so many of the wrestling themes us 80s kids are nostalgic for. Such an underrated musician.
this right here is a fun fact.
That's what brought me here I just found out and had to you tube it
These were all great actors and boy could they dance!
Loved it then and now!
Love this ..never gets old !
Notice how smoothy Dick Van Dyke moves at :30. He did a lot of stage dancing and it shows. Great video. thanks for making it.
larry
whats amazing is that he was likely so drunk it was amazing he could still stand much less dance
@@LtBrown1956 He's in his late 90s now and still dancing. He's on YT.
Totally AWESOME ! Saving !!😂😂😂😅😅😅
I remember that episode of Beverly Hillbillies, diggin' taters!
Oh man, this song brings back memories, this was my first 45, I was 9, I asked mom if she would buy it so I could play it on their record player. So grateful I grew up when I did, it's been a wonderful life.
Love it! Play it often. My 22 yr old son wonders "what's up with Pop and that old tune?"
I tell him it's "NOSTALGIA, NOSTALGIC to me! Happy times as a young man...like you, now!
I'm 62. That's a 40 Year difference right there!
He gets it...., man!
Btw, unless my age screwed with me, you left out "The MONKEES" at 1:12 ....dancing with "Catwoman"...sorta (Julie Newmar??).
Cool. Us 60s babies appreciate this.
Loving the song and the video remix.
Without a doubt
one of the best videos on CZcams! So happy and fun. Thank you for putting this together!
Lol my favorite comedy sitcom of all time Get Smart lol.
This is right up there with Big Bird singing Bird Is The Word!
Ah, the good captain trying to do with Ginger. What a great show!
Great TV clip compilation!
If Agent 99 was dancing around me like that, my head would have exploded.
Man! I love all the stars used for this song! Brilliant!!
Hello Sandy, How are you doing?
