Let's Dance (Lyrics)
(One, two)
(One, two, three)
Hey baby won't you take a chance?
Say that you'll let me have this dance
Well, let's dance, well, let's dance
We'll do the twist, the stomp, the mashed potato too
Any old dance that you wanna do
But let's dance, well let's dance
Hey, baby, yeah, you thrill me so
Hold me tight, don't you let me go
But let's dance, well let's dance
We'll do the twist, the stomp, the mashed potato too
Any old dance that you wanna do
But let's dance, well let's dance
Ok, wail now, oh, yeah
Hey, baby, if you're all alone
Maybe you'll let me walk you home
But let's dance, well let's dance
We'll do the twist, the stomp, the mashed potato too
Any old dance that you wanna do
But let's dance, well let's dance
Hey, baby, things are swingin' right
Yes, I know that this is the night
Well, let's dance, well, let's dance
We'll do the twist, the stomp, the mashed potato too
Any old dance that you wanna do
But let's dance, well let's dance
But let's dance
But let's dance
But let's dance - Hudba
I was that wallflower sitting at the table when I was young, ironically later in life I became a pro dancer. so never give up!
Like song said. Let the little girl dance.
I was the girl dancing right in front of the stage. Lines of boys waiting to dance with me and my sister! We also dated some of the guys in the bands. We had alot of attention. Loads of fun in NE Ohio.
me too!
Yes Jay, I was a dancer on the Lloyd Thaxton show in the mid sixties, renewed dance lessons 10 years ago, then dancing on cruise ships to get the party going. In my 70's now still dancing.
@@franklinnorth7708 cool, keep it up as long as you can, stimulates all your systems and keeps you young at heart and body!❤
Being young from the 1960's thru 80's was a gift from God.
Indeed!
The 1950s were wonderful, too!!! ♥️😀♥️
Rarely has there been a luckier, happier generation.
I agree
In 1957 I was 8 years old but I was listening to this rock and roll.
Hello Nancy, how's everything going with you?
Make America like this again !🇺🇸
It would be a lot more fun, that’s for sure.
Make sure you vote 🗳
@@catherinekammerer7094 I’m at the polls already …. Ha
No Facebook, no TikTok, no eMail, no iPhone... what a stupid world it was.... 🙂
Hahahaha..... so lovely!
Brilliant. My dad says these were the best days.
yer Dad was right
I miss those days, when everybody would just dance. No rules or criticism. Just dancing 🎶. Dance, dance, dance. 👍
I am 74 now but still freaking out to music like this. Just keep on dancing.
Im 82 but I still love the oldies ❤
I'm 74 too. Kinda harder to dance now but I do some good moves !
Am 74. Need to teach my Granddaughter how to Texas 2-step. Bob Wills comes mind.
I was so lucky to have been a teenager in the early 60's. Happy happy memories. Thanks for posting.
Jack and Jackie in the White House, corvettes on the street and we were going to the moon man! (and we did just that!) What an era
@@dgrant7291 we were the luckiest generation ever
same here in the uk born 1950 had my teens in the 60s
👏🏼👏🏼🙋🏼♀️❤️
Duncan you'd have loved this Showbands North and South of Ireland especially Joe Dolan and The Drifters. Absolutely the best time to be young. Dance halls packed to the rafters!! Ah, those were the days... 👏 💃
The best days, memories and times of your life. So glad I got to enjoy it.
I wasn't born until 1967 ,but I grew up listening to 60 s music and learning the dances ,and I've a 60 s party to go to next week ,so looking forward to a fun filled night of dancing ,😊
Hope everyone at the party has enough sense to stay off their cell phones and dance.
❤
THE GOOD OLD DAYS OF ROCK'N'ROLL 😪
Ezekiel Christopher Montañez is his real name, the record company wanted it shorter so Chris asked his mother and she approved the change. I saw him in concert with other 60's artists, at half time he went to the foyer to meet people and sign autographs. A true gent.
Remember dancing with my beautiful mother to this song ❤
Let's celebrate having fun with our wonderful Mums. My abiding memory is actually belting out ' Memory' from 'Cats' in our kitchen. Neither of us had voices like Elaine Page but it didn't matter, we just loved the moment. How I miss my beautiful, beautiful Mum 🥰❤️
Im 76yrs and i remember this song when i used to go to the youth club with my friends
crikey that brings back memories haven't heard it for many many years x
The nerdy looking guy with the hat and glasses has some really great moves!
I thought the same.
He was really cuttin a rug wasnt he
How lucky we are to have Mamie Van Doren still alive at age 92 today on 3/2/23. She has enjoyed her beauty even into her later years and being famous has to be wonderful. YOUR FANS LOVE YOU MAMIE ! P.S. The cashier at my local grocery store was named after you !
Is that so!? It is very good to hear about it!
Long live Ms Marnie!
And she is still gorgeous!
This comes from a time when people could write songs and learn to play an instrument...back in the day when people actually had talent.
And entertainers...ENTERTAINED!
Ah, I'm 62 but even I recognise that lots of people have talent nowadays especially the likes of Taylor Swift. Billie Eilish attracts a lot of scorn but she is also very talented.
Haha. That's what every generation has said. The best music is whatever you bonded with as a teenager. It's how it has always been. Especially since the 1950's when teenagers became a market force. But its funny because this song is exceptionally simple, silly, and childish.
I don’t think you can say that. I’ve been watching some very talented musicians on CZcams. Mind blowing talent.
Brilliant music 😉
People say that adults are not supposed to be "childish" but when it comes to singing and dancing to music with catchy beats there is no restriction to acting crazy, silly, wild and free.
Hello how are you doing…?
Thank God I'm not alonein this !
I'm 74 and when I hear the old music I can't keep still. I usually do the dance moves when I'm alone, 'cause I don't know what my family and friends would think of me !!.......🤨😕
I was a little kid when this came out. I remember those days as cool.
Reminds me of 1961 -62, I loved this, how could you not?
Hello Sandra, how's everything going with you?
Kennedy was president and all was right in the world
Das ist meine Musik.Einfach total geil.
Awesome, the 60's were no bloody joke!!!! Defintely however it "takes two" to "twist and shout" like this, fifty years later, as I sit alone on my rock I know I am "daydream believing" as a happy and wise Monkee always will ❤❤❤❤❤............
Smiles, hi Esther 👋
When I was a little boy back in early 1960's it one of my favorite songs and I was born in 1957.
This takes me back!...Man, in my youth (early to mid 1960s), people were not afraid to embrace their feminine/masculine side, get on the dance floor, and let yourself go!...there was an innocent expressiveness to dance back then, even though much of it was a sexual pantomime. It is obvious that these dancers were professionals, but I could, and did, dance it up back then. Let me tell you younger folks--your grandmas were very hot back then, and knew how to look their best on the dance floor!
Hello, thanks for the message! Yes, the dancers are professionals, they are from a movie made in 1957 in the first wave of Rock! Sergio, in Brazil.
You got that right! My sister and I were the star attraction wherever we danced! We were great dancers and cute. 😁
i didn't dance but i liked to to them
Dancing a lot more classy then today for sure. Most young people today couldn't dance like that to drugged out or lazy to put forth that much effort.
Hey we danced all the time. My grandmother could shake a leg and dragged us onto the dance floor. We learned quick. My wife and I are usually the first ones on the dance floor.
Iam 64 and still rolling like those years.
YOU BEST KEEP ROCKIN' IT ANOTHER 64 LIL SISTER!
Hello beautiful
I love this video. The way they used to dance was so cool. I remember when America was Great.
Now that’s talent.
Joel Hill on guitar, Ray Johnson on Philicorda organ, Ray Pohlman on bass guitar and Jesse Sailes on drums.
I call this my favorite era that l never lived through. I'm 40 and l always loved this music
When Chris Montez toured England, where "Let's Dance" was a massive hit, his opening act was this band called The Beatles. They liked the collarless jacket he wore on stage so much that they had their tailor copy it.
@Baba Ganush .with tony sheridan
They teased him cruelly, as he really was a one hit wonder. He hated that tour, couldn't cope with them
I'm 68yrs old and my god I remember this..awesome song..
My late wife and I loved jiving to this 🤗👍
Hello beautiful
Love the guy toward the end who looks like a blend of Abraham Lincoln and Lurch!
Me to mate. Funny.🇬🇧
🌾🍑 This song!! Oh, this fabulous dance song! The very first black vinyl 45rpm record my sister and I bought in the early 60's 🤗 I think I learned how to dance with this wild & crazy song! 🎶🎶🎶☺️💕🇺🇸💕---by the way I'm 73 now🥰
Es ist einfach nur traumhaft schön. Das war der Rhythmus meiner Jugendzeit. Ganz lieben Dank ❤
Great song & great dancing in the video. Even the imitation “Lurch” was funny.
Was 13 when this came out,
Was fortunate to See the
Tail end of Du Hop,into
Pop,then Motown,eventualy
To the Beatles that revolutionized rock music
And let's not forget folk

Sadly today's music is
Nothing but high tech,
Auto tune,and a Vegas style

Thank God I grew up with
The very train of music"
Hello how are you doing?
A time when music was music
What a time to be young and innocent!✌️
This video was the peak of Mamie Van Doren's career.
Great song fabulous dancing . Listening to that is like a shot of happy juice .
Super awesome dance song by Chris Montez!!
Great 👍 classic 👌 I will sing 🎶 😀 and dance 🕺 to this classic forever, thank you 😊.
Marvellous Chris Montez.
The energy and style of the dancers are truly impressive. Old is always Gold
The tall stiff guy in this video would had been me😂
@@keithkimbrell8616 😂
because they were all professional dancers
@@jefforgeron5249 and just how do you know
@@Steve-yo4ld You can tell these are pros. At least a lot of them.
See the guy moving like a goof in hat and glasses and dancing with the girl at the end?
I could tell he had great movement and maybe I'd seen him before.
And so it turns out (I believe) that's Gil Brady (and his wife Nicki). Award winning swing dancers.
They are dancing at the start of this vid:

(so, maybe it's you that 'doesn't know' - just a thought)
Great music never dies.Brings back wonderful memories of family weddings and parties back in the 60,s and 70,s when we would watch mesmorised as our Mum and Dad and Aunties and Uncles would get up and jive. They were all honestly as good as any on CZcams. And that was after a fair few drinks!!..Used to particularly love watching the females spinning, because let,s face it,they do most of the dancing
Well always loves Chris montez Jose feliciano always had great for us to enjoy. And let's not forget the great nostalgic videos that accompany these songs thank you very much for the song and the video clips. By the way the cute nerdy guy that corny hat, he looks chip from' My 3 sons'
We need to bring swing dancing back; it had a resurgence a few years back. Loved Disco Dancing in the late 70’s best shape of my life & didn’t gain the “freshman 15” in college. Dance like nobody’s looking people it helps to keeps all our parts in working order & feels great!! 🎉🎉🎉
the guy with the hat is pretty cool
All you folks out there watching this this is your grandma your grandpa and your aunts and uncles this is them having a whole lot of fun
Soon as the pounding of the drums starts off, I feel 12 again and I start to shimmy. 😅 Way more fun than a boring aerobics class.
This was a great song from back in the day !!!!!!
It’s so great to watch make me smile 😊
Saw Chris Montez at DeMontfort Hall Leicester in the sixties as a teenager. Let's Dance!!!!
großartig, man kann die wahre Lebensfreude sehen
I remember doing that dance in the 60s so much fun and energy
LOVE THIS CLASSES STUFF 💟💟 ANYTIME ❤️❤️ ANYWHERE.
That was having so much fun! and that was dancing! Loved it Thanks for sharing the the fun! P..I'm 73 I agree never give it up!
I am 67, handicapped, started livingroomdance!❤😂
Absolutely love old music
Great times, fantastic dancing music, youngsters dancing, enjoying themselves. Now we have drugged up scankers falling all over the place.
The musics, the clothes, the dances, the romance, the whole thing was much better. Everything from that era became a classic, and inspired a masterpiece of cinema, full of future stars: (Harrison Ford, Richard Dreyffus, Ron Howard)"American Graffiti"... "As I walk alone I wonder, what went wrong with our love, a love that was so strong..." Del Shannon. Thank God I came to live, at least, the end of this era.
the guy with the hat and glasses dancing on his own is the best dancer of the lot
love the guy in the hat
I’ve seen the guy with the coke bottles dance in the “MISFITS” video, last caress. So light on his feet it’s amazing.
WOW THAT'S A GREAT SONG FROM 1962. SOUNDS 50'S ISH AND GREAT TO DANCE TO
My age is 24. And i like this song. I love old songs 🖤
Love it…6 th grade!!
Hello Mary, how's everything going with you?
Hello beautiful
When dancing was really good.
Never gets old
I was a teenager in the 60's, best decade ever, no other decade has been anywhere near it.
I barely remember the late 60s but did notice at such a young age that there was a special vibe that wasn't there later on.
@@miggans21012 You are right, no other decade has had that vibe, it's difficult to explain, you would have had to be there.
Good music is forever!! Thanks for posting.
Hello Juliana, how's everything going with you?

I think it was more fun those days💃🏻🕺🏼
When times where happy easier stress free
Loved this when it was released
Have to argue about the 60's decade being the best. It was the 50's and early 60's. The 50's were so much more innocent.
I think you can hear a genuine and unquestioned optimism in the music from the 50s and early 60s. Why it's so very hard to recreate that sound and feeling today is because of the heavier times. You can't fake that kind of optimism.
