The Golf R performed marvelously. Almost more than half the price as the other cars and performed within a second of them.
Imo it should have a little improvement, sth like 10% more hp and 20% more torque, with a slight reduction in weight and an increase at the brake performance. It'd still be cheaper than the other 3 cars but it would be more thrilling to watch. Golf is my favorite car btw, too bad it doesn't sell in my country anymore :(
I have a Golf R 2016 model pre facelift with an ABT power package for like £2.200 and it has 380 bhp and 490nm torque. I'm pretty sure that my Golf is way more bang for your buck than this cars!
You can get a decent stage 3 kit for a golf r for about £5000 that'll give you 500bhp and you will ripe lambos, r8s and gtrs on the quartermile with it.

That poor Golf R was out of its league but it was not embarrassed by any stretch. Im glad they included it in the lineup as one can compare it to the higher price point vehicles to see where it lands in real world performance.
I wish they included APR Stage 1 or 2 Golf R as a 5th car just to see how a tuned Golf R compares - it would still be the cheapest option by far but it would be much closer.

Hey Matt, next time you do a rev off, try turning off the traction control before you give it the beans. It might resolve the soft limiter issue.
My man you reached a new level with this video. This is maybe the best of the channel! Not only for the choice of cars, but also for the editing: it's just perfect. Been saying that for ages. Times are useless they just tell you about traction. Speed tells you how fast the cars are.
@@grovsey3656 Definitely well beyond legal speeds. Usually what interests me more is which car is on top after 3-4 seconds. Beyond that, it's fun too watch...but that doesn't matter when I'm driving the car on the road. I never take it to the track anyways.

The A45s is proper German engineering. I love the M2, reminds me of the E92, should really have at least 450 bhp as standard.

Supercars in Greece but the AMG A45s won because it’s 2L 4 cylinder and with this but took the m2 compilation with some upgrades 26000£ of upgrades man AMG is the best

@Conor Great point since it's an AMG engine and a 4cly it has to be pretty much maxed out but I'm assuming people who buy an amg I'm pretty sure would leave it pretty much stock and from that stand point its 🔥. In the real world traffic light GP, the older version, and the RS3 are way faster than my M2. It takes solid trust in one's driving ability and insurance to drive mine and keep up with mates anywhere except the track (destroys them) and dry twisty back roads (M2 is better on technical stuff thanks to RWD adjustability).

In most VAG cars you can bypass that soft limiter by turning traction control off and putting it in reverse then back to neutral. (Sometimes they stay in reverse depending if its a manual or DSG)
what does soft limiter do?
The a45s is a legend. No other 2 litre engine comes close. In fact, people compare it with bigger engine cars!

Do a standard carwow drag races between new 2020 CLA45S Shooting Brake (421hp) and 2019 Seat Cupra Wagon/Kombi ST (300hp). Not new cupra but older one that came after Cupra R... Both merc and cupra are AWD.

Especially considering that the base model is from 2015! (As well as the BMW M2 though) But also The BMW had some upgrades and the RS3 not even the sport exhaust which could increase power a little bit, and lacks probably some other upgrades as well.
The big loser is the BMW, if you will spend the guts of 80k on that you need your head looking at. My brother has an RS3, they are good cars although a bit overpriced. The car which is winner for me was the Golf, its not as good performance wise but for a little spend improvements could be made to close the gap. at half the price of the BMW I would rather have it, put 10k in engine mods.
